This is an independent female protagonist story. It involves rebirth, spatial abilities, hoarding supplies, post-apocalyptic survival, and occasional team-ups.
Disasters include earthquakes, ...
Li Ke went downstairs and walked around for a while. After a while, he called the shop owner and asked him to come down and pick him up. Then the two of them each carried a large black bag and took the elevator to the fifth floor.
After entering the store, the shop owner spent twenty minutes counting the money. This time he didn't use a money counter. After counting three hundred stacks, he quickly gave Li Ke a receipt.
"I'm sometimes not in the country, so I don't check this phone often. If you need anything, just send me a message, and I'll reply when I see it. If you're short on money, just add some in advance, and I'll make up the difference as soon as I know," Li Ke said to the shop owner before leaving.
The shop owner helped Li Ke move the goods to the specially called truck and responded to everything Li Ke said: "Don't worry, boss, I will do my best to handle these matters and will report to you in advance if anything happens."
The truck stopped in the suburbs. After Li Ke got out of the truck, it was already 5:30. Li Ke found a small path and went into the woods to put the things into his space. He also switched back to his identity as the owner of the farmhouse and hurriedly went to collect two more shipments.
It was hot, and those who did kitchen work were the hardest working. After Li Ke finished receiving the goods, he gave each of them a 200-yuan red envelope and told them to finish cleaning up and go home to rest early.
Several chefs accompanied Li Ke to see a row of pickling jars in the backyard. There was an insulated greenhouse in the backyard with four high-powered air conditioners inside, specifically for storing these jars, but there were less than a hundred of them.
It's too hot now. The farmhouse has planted a lot of fruit trees, which look much better than before, but the temperature is still too high to use them for pickling vegetables.
The head chef had already discussed this with Li Ke, so Li Ke asked him to rent a suitable storage room to store the pickled vegetables. Li Ke had already seen the video the head chef sent her on her phone, and it was done very well. In another half month or so, she would be able to collect a batch into her space.
"The sauces here are for our own cooking, but we can't hire any more people right now because we don't have enough space," the head chef said to Li Ke.
"We still need to recruit. Could you please do your part again and see if there's a suitable cafeteria for rent? We can rent another place. I'll cover the cost for this separately, or you can recommend someone you know who's good at handling things," Li Ke said after thinking for a moment. She couldn't manage it all by herself.
It was already 8 p.m. when Li Ke returned to the Chen family home. To her surprise, they were all still waiting for her to have dinner together.
Of course, neither Grandpa Chen nor Grandma Chen were there, nor was Chen Xian. He was currently enjoying a sweet romance with his new girlfriend and rarely returned to the Chen family home.
Li Ke had already been warmly treated by the two new chefs at the farmhouse, and her stomach was full. Moreover, the hot weather had affected her appetite somewhat recently, and with these two people in front of her, she really had no appetite.
After drinking a glass of juice brought by the new housekeeper, Li Ke was about to go upstairs to rest when Li Zhenzhen stopped her: "Ke Ke, wait a minute, there's something we'd like to discuss with you."
Li Ke thought to himself: They're here.
The three of them moved into the living room and sat down on the sofa.
“Keke, you’re eighteen now, and we, as your elders, should start treating you like an adult. At your age, you can’t always be wandering around outside. When your aunt came over yesterday, she specifically mentioned that she has two easy jobs she’d like you to do as an intern, with a salary of eight thousand a month. I think it’s a great idea—nine to five, and it’s at your aunt’s company, so it’s easy and comfortable. Just think of it as finding yourself a job to do for fun.” Li Zhenzhen said earnestly, sitting next to Chen Niansheng.
“Eight thousand? That’s too low. I have money now and I don’t want to go,” Li Ke replied casually, feeling no disappointment whatsoever towards Li Zhenzhen.
Hearing Li Ke's reply, Li Zhenzhen felt a tightness in her chest when she thought about the 50 million she had given away. She stopped talking and said nothing. What else could she say but let Chen Ziyue handle it herself? This girl was someone she couldn't be too lenient with or too harsh with. She just wanted Chen Ziyue to teach her a lesson as soon as possible.
Seeing the awkward atmosphere, Chen Niansheng smiled and changed the subject, saying, "Speaking of which, my older brother and sister-in-law have been thinking about Xiao Ke. They've been living in the city recently, and they're looking for someone to manage their supermarket. They've been thinking of having Xiao Ke do it."
Li Ke gave a silent hum, having almost forgotten about Zhang Tao and his wife lately: "How much do they pay me?"
Chen Niansheng looked embarrassed for a moment, then smiled and said, "Xiao Ke, if you want to go there, in addition to their salary, I'll give you an extra eight thousand a month. How about that? You know we all love you like our own child. At your age, instead of going to school, it's better for you to find a proper job."
Chen Niansheng wasn't quite sure about his older sister's plans, so in his opinion, it didn't matter where Li Ke worked. The girl was growing more and more beautiful, and with their family's resources, finding her a wealthy husband wouldn't be difficult. If they could maintain good relations, all these years of raising this girl wouldn't have been in vain.
"I'll think about it." After saying this, Li Ke stood up and went back upstairs.
Li Zhenzhen stared at her back for a while, a mix of emotions welling up inside her. This was her daughter, but now she was going to push her down the same sordid and filthy path as her.
Li Zhenzhen hesitated for only a moment, but when she thought of the ten million yuan deposited into her card and what she would get later, she immediately came to her senses.
She didn't want this daughter in the first place, and besides, Li Ke had long since distanced himself from her. Sending this daughter to Chen Ziyue would bring her a continuous stream of benefits, so it was worth it.
