Xiao Wanqing raised her arm, trying to block out the blinding light, and the next second she heard a sound that sent a chill down her spine.

"Xiao Wanqing, you really know how to pick a spot!" A cold male voice came from the stairwell. "If you died here, it would be really hard for anyone to find out!"

Xiao Wanqing's hand froze, and she was stunned.

As soon as she finished speaking, Shen Zhi Qiu saw an extremely thin young man appear a few meters away from her. He took another step closer, then casually took off the blue baseball cap he was wearing and held it in his hand. He only glanced at Shen Zhi Qiu on the ground before turning his gaze to Xiao Wan Qing.

Although Shen Zhi Qiu didn't know who he was, seeing Xiao Wan Qing's terrified expression, she knew that her chance had come. She lowered her body, trying to minimize her presence, and observed the two of them discreetly.

"I've been trying to find out where you are." Lin Su took another step closer, looking at Xiao Wanqing with a cold smile. In the dim light, his expression looked even more ferocious.

"You killed my mother, but thanks to the Gu family's absolute power in Nancheng, you managed to escape legal punishment! I had no choice but to take revenge myself!" Lin Su said indignantly.

"I didn't mean to." Xiao Wanqing lowered her voice somewhat guiltily, took a few steps back, and awkwardly touched her nose.

"Not on purpose? Ha." Lin Su glanced at her coldly and retorted in a chilling voice, "Do you think I'll still believe you? I remember every word you said back then, not a single one of them has escaped my memory!"

"I did all that so I could be with you. Who told your mother to stop me? If she hadn't stopped us, wouldn't we be together now?" Seeing that she couldn't smooth things over, Xiao Wanqing steeled her resolve and said resentfully, her neck stiff.

"Xiao Wanqing, I really underestimated your ability to lie!" Lin Su sneered. Her eyes, which used to be filled with pity and tenderness when she looked at Xiao Wanqing, were now filled only with overwhelming hatred.

He looked at Xiao Wanqing with disdain, "I overheard your conversation with Miss Shen just now. It's enough to show how many things you've lied to me about!" As she spoke, Lin Su's emotions began to surge. "If I hadn't failed to see your true colors, my mother wouldn't have died! I truly regret it! It's all my fault. If I hadn't been so stubborn, my mother wouldn't have died, and my father wouldn't have suffered a heart attack from excessive grief..."

Xiao Wanqing's face flushed red and then pale. Her lie had been exposed on the spot, and she was embarrassed. But he waited for Xiao Wanqing downstairs early and then took her to a nearby church. Xiao Wanqing looked at him with confusion and asked him what he wanted to do, but before he could answer, the bells began to ring. He quickly unbuckled his seatbelt, got out of the car, went around to the other side to open the car door for Xiao Wanqing, and pulled her into the church.

The church was nearly empty. Lin Su led her inside, watching the sunlight stream in, the colorful stained-glass windows reflected on the plain floor, creating shimmering patterns. Lin Su prayed fervently, hoping that heaven would bless his love with Xiao Wanqing so that they could grow old together. He would always remember the light and joy in Xiao Wanqing's eyes.

He thought it was love, but unfortunately, too many people lie in love; some are so good at acting that they even deceive themselves. Growing old together is just a regret that most people long for but cannot have.

Lin Su sighed softly, looking at Xiao Wanqing with a heart full of despair, and shook her head. "Wanqing, you pushed my mother down the stairs with your own hands, and my father died because of it. Even now, you have no remorse whatsoever. How can you still talk to me about feelings? Are you just spoiled, or do you simply have no heart at all?"
