Chapter 352 Softness

Looking at the weather outside, where it was still snowing heavily, Kangxi glanced at the weather and looked at Mingxiu: "Let's go, let's go out for a walk."

Mingxiu readily agreed, put on the bright red cloak that Yulan and the others had just made for her this year, with a circle of white fur around it, and went out with Kangxi.

The two held hands without anyone following them. Kangxi was carrying a lamp, and with the palace brightly lit, they had no problem walking.

Hissing sounds echoed across the clean snow. In the dim light, two figures approached from afar; it was Mingxiu and Kangxi walking slowly towards them.

"Doesn't it feel so good to walk on snow?" Mingxiu walked ahead with great interest, deliberately stepping on the clean snow.

Kangxi followed helplessly behind, holding a lantern. Looking at the agile figure in front of him, he shook his head. They were both almost forty years old, but sometimes they still seemed like they had never grown up. Chenghuan was much more mature than her.

Mingxiu had no idea that Kangxi was thinking this way about her, and kept stomping on the snow.

The two of them had nothing to do while they were out for a stroll. Kangxi originally wanted to go to the Plum Garden, but Mingxiu wanted to walk in the snow, so they didn't have a specific direction and just went wherever it was convenient.

After walking unsteadily for a while, Mingxiu was having a great time. She turned around and happily called out to Kangxi, but then someone bumped into her. Mingxiu, who was not standing steadily, fell forward. She was still calling out to Kangxi when she noticed his terrified eyes. Then her whole body began to fall forward uncontrollably.

Mingxiu closed her eyes in despair, wondering if she was about to fall face-first to the ground.

After waiting for a long time, Mingxiu still didn't touch the ground, and instead, she fell into a warm embrace.

Mingxiu slowly opened her eyes and saw that she was lying in Kangxi's arms, and he was looking at her nervously.

Mingxiu secretly breathed a sigh of relief, only to hear a voice apologizing from the side.

"This humble woman has inadvertently offended the Emperor Emeritus and the Imperial Concubine. I beg the Emperor Emeritus and the Imperial Concubine to grant me mercy." A charming female voice rang out.

Mingxiu was still lying in Kangxi's arms. Upon hearing this, she quickly stood up, patted Kangxi who was still nervously observing her physical condition, and then turned to look at the woman who was still kneeling on the ground.

Wearing a pink dress and shivering, she was clearly a young girl.

Mingxiu wasn't prepared to make things difficult for anyone. It was just that she hadn't seen anyone in front of her, and since the area wasn't very bright, it was normal for them to bump into each other.

"Alright, get up. I don't blame you. Whose daughter are you?"

"Thank you for your mercy, Your Majesty and Imperial Concubine. I am from the Ulanara family, and my name is Ulanara Rouze." Ulanara Rouze quietly stood up from the ground, looking pitifully and weakly at Mingxiu and Kangxi.

Kangxi showed no expression upon hearing this, but still frowned slightly. Didn't this person know to state her parents' names? There are so many people in Ulanara, how would anyone know where she is from? Besides, after hitting someone, she didn't even apologize and showed the slightest bit of embarrassment.

However, Mingxiu's eye twitched violently when she heard this person's name.

She must have misheard. She must have misheard.

who.

Ulanara Rouze!

No way.

Mingxiu swallowed hard and carefully asked, "Oh, do you have any sisters at home?"

“I have an older brother and a younger brother, as well as a half-sister,” Ulanara Rouze said after a moment’s hesitation.

Mingxiu rolled her eyes at her. How dare she be so shameless as to say that Chun Yuan had nothing to offer and that it was just a meeting? She didn't even forget to give her sister a meaningful look. Her words implied that she was the legitimate daughter and her sister was the illegitimate daughter.

"Oh, luggage, you should go back now." Mingxiu waved her hand, pulled Kangxi along, and left.

Ulanara Rouze remained kneeling in the shadows, somewhat bewildered. She looked up blankly at Mingxiu and Kangxi's retreating figures. This was not what she had expected. Shouldn't this Imperial Concubine be curious about why she was here? Why hadn't she asked anything?

"Miss, what should we do now?" The little maid following behind Ulanara Rouze asked, her hands trembling as she braced herself on the ground. The weather was so cold that she couldn't stand it anymore.

As soon as the maid spoke, Ulanara Rouze snapped out of her daze. She looked around at the scenery, shivered, and said irritably, "Since there's no one around, why don't you hurry up and help me up? Have you been doing nothing all this time?"

"Yes," the maidservant quickly got up and helped Ulanara Rouze up from the ground.

The two women hurried away, not noticing the person who had been following them, frowning as he watched them.

Over here, Kangxi had already noticed Mingxiu's abnormal behavior: "What's wrong? Why do you seem so out of sorts after seeing them? Is there something wrong with this person?" Kangxi frowned. Even if there was something wrong, Mingxiu should already know, but he shouldn't be unaware.

Mingxiu snapped out of her daze and, upon hearing Kangxi's words, realized that this workaholic couldn't possibly have seen such things, so she didn't understand what was going on with Rouze. She directly explained the situation to him, telling him about the affair between Rouze, Yixiu, and Yinzhen. Neither of these sisters was easy to deal with; one was the one who seduced her brother-in-law by dancing while her sister was pregnant at his residence, and the other was the leader of a notorious abortion squad.

After Mingxiu finished speaking, she still had a question. For so many years, she had always felt that this should be the official history of the Qing Dynasty, but did Rouze really exist in history? Could this actually be the world of "Empresses in the Palace"?
