New book is open: "Qing Dynasty Transmigration: Fourth Master's Beloved Consort", welcoming new and old friends to follow.
Before transmigration, Lin Mengyao was a leftover woman ...
"Probably not. You said you found a cave at Dumenpo, and inside the cave you found a strange, glowing stone?" Lanqin listened to Ling Feng recount his experience of finding a cave with Fourth Master at Dumenpo, and how they were almost ambushed by traps inside.
“Yes, Consort. When we reached the very end of that cave, there was nowhere left to go. But the underground river continued to flow inwards, which means there are still places we haven’t reached yet,” Ling Feng said.
Lanqin, upon hearing the aunt's mention of the elixir, recalled reading about it extensively in ancient historical documents she had studied in her later years. These elixirs were supposedly created by rulers seeking immortality from Taoists. Throughout history, Taoist practitioners frequently refined them to satisfy this desire of the rulers. However, later research revealed that these elixirs were often aphrodisiacs that enhanced physical strength and even contained large amounts of heavy metals, leading to poisoning with prolonged use. Therefore, when Lanqin heard Ling Feng mention the "glowing stone," she immediately suspected it was a colored stone, perhaps even connected to the elixirs refined by Taoist priests.
“Lingfeng, we should go back and check that cave again. Maybe we’ll find something else,” Lanqin said. “Since they discovered your actions, the fact that they sent people so quickly shows they’re very concerned about what’s inside the cave. If it were me, I would immediately move what’s inside the cave once we’ve dealt with it. If we can’t move it, we should at least have someone guard it.”
When Ling Feng heard what she said, it seemed to make some sense.
"Lingfeng, go to Master Zhou's house again and see if he has returned," Lanqin said. "He is, after all, one of their own. If he has returned, we will have a clue about Master's whereabouts."
After her son admitted to her that his agreement with Lanqin had nothing to do with matters between men and women, Aunt Dong felt guilty and personally cooked for Lanqin and Lingfeng.
After receiving Lan Qin's instructions, Ling Feng went out alone through the side door and headed straight for Zhou Tianhao's clinic. When he finally arrived at the clinic after walking for less than an hour, he found that Zhou Tianhao had indeed returned and was still seeing patients.
Ling Feng walked in, and when he looked at Master Zhou, the other man also saw him. Master Zhou seemed not to recognize Ling Feng, ignoring him from the moment he entered.
Ling Feng saw that Master Zhou was carefully examining each of the mountain people who came to see him for treatment, because he had been away for the past few days, delaying the treatment of many patients. So as soon as he returned, all the patients in need of medical care came from all around.
After seeing the last patient, Ling Feng went in and said to Zhou Tianhao, who was organizing medical records, "Daoist Master, may I speak to you now?"
While tidying up, Master Zhou said, "Benefactor, if you are sick, just say so. If you are not sick, please don't bother me anymore."
Ling Feng was taken aback by his words and hurriedly asked, "My master was arrested along with you. Where is he now? Why are you the only one who came back? What about Su Peisheng, Si Hua, and Shui Ling?"
Zhou Tianhao took a deep breath and said, "Who are you talking about? I don't recognize any of them."
Ling Feng looked at Master Zhou in disbelief and said in an almost insane voice, "You Taoists, each of you claims to be enlightened, how can you lie without batting an eye?"
Zhou Tianhao maintained the same expression, denying ever seeing Fourth Master and refusing to answer any of Ling Feng's questions. Ling Feng never expected that seeing him again would be like this.
