"I told you to get out of the way!" the Fujin roared. "How can you be so insensible? This gentleman is taking Ruan Meiying to see the Emperor. She will plead for the Prince in front of the Emperor."

Linlang thought with disdain, how could the Fujin be so stupid? The Prince was essentially Ruan Meiying's father's killer, how could Ruan Meiying possibly plead for the Prince?

Not only Linlang, but even Ruan Meiying did not expect that the Fujin would be so naive. How could she possibly plead for Hongshi? The reason she was by Hongshi's side was to want him dead. Now that she could see the Emperor, she would of course tell him everything she knew. I really don't know, if the Fujin was not the daughter of the Duke of Yingguo, but an ordinary official who married Hongshi, she might have been killed long ago.

Linlang knew about Ruan Meiying, but she couldn't say it openly now. She could only leave Ruan Meiying behind and explain it to the Fujin properly. The princess summoned the guards to take Linlang away, but Linlang roared, "I am the prince's concubine, who dares to touch me!"

Magpie was the quickest to react. She hugged Linlang and covered her wound with her hand. She shouted, "Quickly go and get a doctor! Stop them, or they'll leave!"

The guards in the Prince's mansion surrounded Cui Jian, preventing him from leaving.

Cui Jian gripped his sword and said, "Get out of my way. I'm here on the Emperor's orders. Don't force me to fight you."

The guards looked at each other, unsure of what to do, and finally could only ask the Princess Consort for advice.

The princess was still recovering from the shock she had just experienced. Looking at the scene before her, she didn't know what to do.
