After several dozen days of rapid travel, Nian Gengyao arrived in Beijing.

As soon as they reached the city gate, Nian Gengyao reined in his horse and stopped it with a "whoosh."

The attendant behind him asked in confusion, "General, why did you stop your horse? Aren't you in a hurry to go to the palace to see Consort Nian?"

Nian Gengyao said, "Wait a moment, this general needs to go to my elder brother's residence first to inquire about Consort Nian's condition."

Nian Gengyao turned his horse around, cracked his whip, and rode towards his elder brother Nian Gengxi's residence.

Nian Gengxi was in his study at the mansion, sighing deeply. Something was wrong with the Nian family recently, and he had a premonition that something was about to happen.

The servant went to the door and reported, "Reporting to my lord, the General has arrived."
