New book is open: "Qing Dynasty Transmigration: Fourth Master's Beloved Consort", welcoming new and old friends to follow.
Before transmigration, Lin Mengyao was a leftover woman ...
"Master, Xiao Mu from Qiushui Pavilion has arrived," A Luo personally reported to Xue Ying.
"Oh, let her in," Xueying said.
Xiao Mu came in carrying a bundle. After greeting Xue Ying, she said, "This servant was ordered by Granny Liu to bring this quilt for the concubine to see."
Xueying nodded, gesturing for Alu to take the bundle from Xiaomu's hands.
Xiao Mu and A Luo opened the bundle together, revealing its contents.
Xueying walked over and took the small quilt from their hands. The quilt cover was made of fine plain satin, and it felt very soft to the touch.
"Is this what Princess Gao sent over?" Xueying asked, rubbing the small quilt with her palm.
“Yes. It was sent by Princess Gao,” Xiao Mu said.
"Did Sister Su ever use this quilt for the young prince?" Xueying asked.
"Not yet. Your servant and Granny Liu were a little worried, so we haven't taken it out to use it," Xiao Mu said.
Xueying nodded and said, "You go back first, I'll leave this quilt here. We can't tell anything from it right now, let me take a good look at it."
Xiao Mu withdrew.
“Consort, why are you doing this? Even Consort Su herself thinks there’s nothing wrong, yet you’re secretly having this examination sent over. If Consort Su finds out, she’ll think you’re the one with ulterior motives,” A’Luo said, somewhat puzzled.
“Sister Su is currently in her postpartum period and is very weak. I’m just worried that someone might take advantage of her weakness. It’s not a big deal if she suffers a little grievance. Mother once told me to protect Su’s child. I promised her that,” Xueying said.
“You’ve done so much, and the Prince still doesn’t know. He never comes to see you, Master. I just feel that you’ve done so much, and he doesn’t even know,” A’Luo said.
“If I always try to impress him, how can I expect him to truly accept me? Enough of this talk, come and look at this quilt with me,” Xueying said.
A'Luo knew her daughter's personality; once she made up her mind, nothing could sway her.
"I smelled the quilt, and there's nothing wrong with it. Master, are we overthinking this?" A'Luo said, sniffing the quilt.
“I always felt that the Gao family didn’t simply want to reconcile with Sister Su. We just haven’t found any dirt on her yet,” Xueying said.
“But the quilt is right here, and I really can’t see anything wrong with it,” A-Luo said.
"Put it on my bed for now. I can't tell what it is, so let's leave it there for now," Xueying said.
Meanwhile, after Hongli left Qiushui Pavilion, Lady Gao went there as well.
"Sister Su, look at your big, fat son. I'm so envious," said Madam Gao, sitting on the edge of Madam Su's bed.
“You don’t need to envy me. You will also bear children for Prince in the future.” Madam Su said with a happy face. “Prince just came and told me that I can raise my own children. Xiyue, I am so happy that Prince allows me to raise my own children.”
Madam Gao was startled, but still smiled and said, "That's because the Prince takes pity on you, sister. You are so lucky. Oh, sister, where is the quilt I gave you? Why wasn't it used to wrap the little prince? It was a token of Xiyue's affection."
"Oh, Princess, that quilt hasn't been dried properly yet. We can give it to the young prince after it's dried." said Granny Liu.
