New book is open: "Qing Dynasty Transmigration: Fourth Master's Beloved Consort", welcoming new and old friends to follow.
Before transmigration, Lin Mengyao was a leftover woman ...
The next day, two people arrived at the main courtyard early in the morning. One was Madam Yin, who had been confined to her quarters the previous night, and the other was naturally Yan Yu.
Having shed her theatrical costume, Madam Yin wore a bright green qipao today, with her hair styled in a double bun, adorned with pale yellow silk flowers and silver hairpins inlaid with rubies and emeralds on either side, and a pair of green stone earrings. Her whole appearance was fresh and elegant, and coupled with her small face, which was only the size of a palm, she was even more endearing.
"Oh, who do we have here? It's Consort Yin!" Yan Yu deliberately raised her voice, her tone full of sarcasm, even her gaze towards Consort Yin was slanted. After learning her background, Yan Yu hadn't slept well the previous night. The Fujin (principal wife) had rescued Consort Yin with a clear purpose: to use her to seduce the Fourth Prince, showing she had given up on Yan Yu. This was something Yan Yu couldn't tolerate. Although she herself didn't want to be controlled by the Fujin, now the Fujin had actively abandoned her, which was a different matter from her own desire to be controlled. Little did she know, in the Fujin's eyes, Yan Yu was already no different from someone about to die.
"Greetings, Princess Yu." Madam Yin didn't take it seriously and took the initiative to bow to Yan Yu.
This action only made Yan Yu more arrogant, and she smiled mockingly, saying, "Oh, I dare not accept such a thing. My status is equal to that of Consort Yin. Now that you are the apple of Master's eye, how could I dare to accept your courtesy?"
Madam Yin remained unmoved, still smiling gently as she said, "Girl Yu has given birth to two children for you, so naturally she is a rank higher than us. It is only right that Panchun pays her respects to Girlfriend Yu."
Yan Yu was naturally pleased to hear this, but she remained outwardly firm. However, her tone was less harsh as she raised an eyebrow and said, "Let's go in and pay our respects to our elder sister. This time, if it weren't for our elder sister, you probably wouldn't even have been able to see the master."
Following behind Yan Yu, Madam Yin bowed her head and said obediently, "Yes, Madam, Pan Chun will never forget your kindness. If there is anything I can do to repay you, I will never refuse."
Granny Li was standing in the courtyard directing several young maids to replace some withered flowers and plants when she saw the two princesses arrive so early, one after the other. She greeted them with a smile, "Greetings to the two princesses!"
Yan Yu hummed in agreement, but Madam Yin dared not presume to do so and quickly offered a helping hand, saying, "I'm afraid of disturbing you, Madam. I hope you can help me relieve my feet this spring, it all depends on your forgiveness."
Granny Li turned and led the two inside, saying as they walked, "The Princess knows the Princess's heart."
Inside the main room, the Fujin was having breakfast, while little Hongshi sat opposite her, also eating by himself.
After Yan Yu and Madam Yin entered the room, they politely bowed to the Fujin (the wife of the deceased).
"The Fourth Prince is still so young, why don't I serve him his meals?" said Lady Yin.
"No need, let him use it himself. If you serve him, he'll have to think about having the maids serve him in the future," the Fujin said with a smile.
"I really didn't think of these things. Your Majesty's thinking is truly far-sighted. I admire you." Madam Yin respectfully curtsied again.
Seeing Yin Shi's reaction, Yan Yu simply rolled her eyes and sat down to the side.
"Madam Yin, you must remember the mistakes you made in the past and serve the master well. Try to be like Yu'er and Madam Niu and bear him children. You and she were both selected as imperial concubines in the same year and entered the palace at the same time. Humbly learn from Madam Niu. She is currently pregnant and naturally cannot serve the master. You both have a chance," the Fujin said persuasively.
"Yes, Your Highness's teachings will be remembered," said Lady Yin.
Yan Yu was furious when she saw that the Fujin (wife) ignored her completely and instead kept talking to Yin Shi. However, she couldn't show it, so she could only sit there and sulk.
The Fujin waved to Chunliu, signaling them to remove the breakfast. Hongshi went out for a walk to digest his food, led by a maid, while Xiahe brought in a basin of water to help the Fujin wash her mouth and hands.
"My lady, let me serve you. I am so grateful for your help, and I don't know how to express my gratitude. Let me clean your mouth to show my appreciation," said Lady Yin.
The princess smiled faintly and said, "Since Princess Yin is so kind, then come over."
Madam Yin stood up, took small steps to the Fujin (the wife's mother), and took the teacup from Xia He's hand. Madam Yin personally fed the Fujin a sip of water, and after seeing her gulp it down a few times, she quickly put down the teacup, took a copper bowl, and held it to the Fujin's lips to let her spit out the water. Finally, Madam Yin calmly put down the copper bowl, took a handkerchief, and wiped the Fujin's mouth.
"Gege Yin is really good at serving people," Yan Yu couldn't help but sarcastically remark. She had been feeling uncomfortable for a while because they had been talking amongst themselves and leaving her standing there.
"My mother is just one of my father's concubines. Panchun originally lived at home and often served my stepmother. I can handle this little thing," Madam Yin replied obediently.
"Very well, Madam Yin, you may go back now. Remember what I said. I will arrange opportunities for you, but whether you can seize them is up to you," the princess said.
"Yes, I'll take my leave now. I'll come to pay my respects to the Princess Consort again tomorrow." Madam Yin bowed again respectfully, then stepped back a few paces before turning around and leaving with the help of her maid.
"Hmph, what a shameless slut! Does she think she can seduce me by dressing like that?" Yan Yu spat at the receding figure. Today, she was still wearing her favorite orange-red dress, and her hair was styled in a winged updo, adorned with her favorite agate and gold-plated gemstone headdress, making her look bright and noble.
"Which woman in the inner quarters doesn't want to capture the master's heart? Dressed like this, coming here to show off that you gave birth to twins?" The Fujin glanced at Yan Yu and said. If she weren't her sister, and didn't share that surname, she would have dealt with her long ago. She had initially thought Yan Yu had some sense, but since entering the manor, she had proven utterly foolish. She had initially wanted Yan Yu to help her, but now she saw her as a ticking time bomb. If she wasn't careful, Yan Yu would cause trouble, and then it would be too late for her to be implicated.
Seeing that the Fujin was protecting that Lady Yin, Yan Yu hurriedly said, "Elder sister, Yu'er gave birth to twins, why can't she be promoted? Elder sister and the master entered the palace together, there must be an explanation."
The princess glared at Yan Yu and said directly, "How exactly did you conceive those twins? Can you face yourself with a clear conscience?"
Upon hearing this, Yan Yu's eyelids twitched, and she trembled slightly as she asked, "Elder sister, what do you mean by that?"
The Fujin snorted and said, "You did all this yourself, do you expect me to tell you? Yan Yu, who gave you such audacity? Is it because you have the master's favor? Even after giving birth, you are still no match for Niu Shi. You are only the younger sister of the primary Fujin, a concubine's daughter of the Ulanara family, yet you wear clothes that are almost bright red. Is your elder sister too lenient with you?"
