(Not Double Clean) Transmigrated into the Qing Dynasty and became concubine Xu, favored by Emperor Kangxi. Xu Lejin was shocked. She had lived for fifty years with only one man, and now her reputat...
Lady Bu was pale and knelt on the ground.
The sixth princess, though young, had a calm expression, unlike Consort Bu who looked like the sky had fallen. She knelt quietly behind Consort Bu with her head down.
"Your Highness, my daughter, Moyaqi, is still young. How can she be married off to Mongolia? Your Highness, I am unfortunate, having only one daughter, the Sixth Princess. I beg Your Highness to have pity on me!"
With snot and tears streaming down her face, Bu Guiren looked at Xu Lejin and pleaded, sobbing uncontrollably.
Xu Lejin sighed softly, her gaze sweeping over Consort Bu before turning to the quietly kneeling Sixth Princess. She spoke in a deep voice, "Sixth Princess, you are already twelve years old. The Emperor has arranged a marriage for you with the second son of the Prince of Duling of the Kharachin tribe. What do you think?"
Bu Guiren's wailing stopped abruptly, and she stared blankly at Xu Lejin.
The Sixth Princess slowly raised her head, looked at Xu Lejin, and said, word by word, "Your Majesty, I think it's very good. I am a princess of the Great Qing, and it is my duty to dedicate my life to the Great Qing and Mongolia."
"Your subject is willing to marry into the Kharachin tribe."
Xu Lejin nodded and looked at Consort Bu.
Consort Bu stared in shock at the Sixth Princess behind her, feeling that her daughter was so unfamiliar that even she, her own mother, couldn't figure out what she was thinking.
Without making a sound, Xu Lejin and Consort Que exchanged a glance, and then said in a deep voice to Consort Bu, "Although His Majesty has betrothed the Sixth Princess to the Kharachin tribe, the wedding date has not yet been set."
"The Sixth Princess is still young. There are no other princesses like the First Princess or Second Princess yet, and none of them have married. There is an order of seniority, so Consort Bu need not worry about the Sixth Princess marrying into the Kharachin tribe too early."
Consort Bu responded 'Yes' in a daze, and was dragged out of Yikun Palace by the Sixth Princess.
Xu Lejin and Consort Que exchanged a glance as they watched Consort Bu and her daughter leave. Xu Lejin said softly, “The Sixth Princess is quite perceptive. She knows that the Emperor’s decree has been issued and there is no room for change.”
Consort Que nodded with a smile.
"Yes, the Sixth Princess is only twelve years old, yet she calmly accepts her fate of being married off to a distant place, displaying a resolute spirit. On the other hand, Consort Bu, as the Sixth Princess's birth mother, although over thirty, is far less capable than the Sixth Princess."
Xu Lejin nodded slightly and fell into deep thought.
After a short while, Xu Lejin spoke softly. "After the Sixth Princess was born and reached her one-month milestone, she was sent to be cared for by the wet nurses and palace servants of the princes. Consort Bu, however, fell out of favor."
"The people in the palace wield immense power. The Sixth Princess must have suffered a great deal of injustice while in the Prince's quarters, which is why she has developed such a mindset and can calmly accept her fate of being sent to marry a foreign ruler and pacify Mongolia."
After a pause, Xu Lejin continued softly, "Now that the Sixth Princess has been betrothed to the Kharachin tribe of Mongolia, although I am an Imperial Noble Consort, I cannot help but worry about what will happen when Wuyoudai, Wulingzhu, and Yuludai grow up."
"Manchu-Mongol intermarriage is an old custom. Even if the Emperor is willing, he..."
Upon hearing this, Consort Que fell into deep thought.
"Yes, Your Majesty, I can't help but worry. Urina has been raised by my side since birth, and I've long considered her my own daughter."
Consort Que spoke slowly, “It is Ning Chuge. Although she was raised by Guo Luoluo, a commoner, Ning Chuge was well-behaved and sensible. Now that she is raised under my care, I really can’t bear to see Ning Chuge or Urina marry far away to Mongolia in the future.”
Xu Lejin nodded and murmured softly.
"Now that things have come to this, we can only let nature take its course and submit to fate!"
Changchun Palace
The Sixth Princess returned to Changchun Palace with Consort Bu. After paying her respects to Consort He, she went to the west side hall where Consort Bu resided.
Upon entering the west wing hall, Consort Bu dismissed the palace servants attending her, her eyes brimming with tears, and pulled at the Sixth Princess, choking back sobs as she spoke, "My dear Mother Moyaqi, Mongolia is bitterly cold. If you were to marry into the Kharachin tribe..."
"Your poor daughter, why did your father, the Emperor, choose you to marry far away when you have so many daughters?"
The Sixth Princess looked calmly at Consort Bu.
After a cup of tea, Consort Bu vented her dissatisfaction, staring blankly at the Sixth Princess, and said, "Moyaqi, are you really willing to marry into the Kharachin tribe? If you are not willing..."
The sixth princess's lips curled up into a mocking sneer.
“If my daughter is unwilling, what can I do? I have never been favored by Father Emperor. My daughter is just the daughter of a minor nobleman. Even if she marries into a middle-class family in the capital, she will only be of average means. It would be better for her to marry into Mongolia.”
After a pause, the Sixth Princess continued, "My only regret is why I didn't marry into the Khorchin or Bairin tribes? The Khorchin tribe's power in Mongolia is far less than that of the Khorchin or Bairin tribes."
"They are not even as good as the Abahai tribe or the Chahar tribe."
When Lady Bu heard this, she was so shocked that her jaw almost dropped.
She was reluctant to let her daughter marry so far away, to go to the harsh and cold lands of Mongolia. But her daughter's heart longed for the Kharachin tribe, which was not as powerful as the Khorchin or Bairin tribes in Mongolia.
The Sixth Princess smiled contemptuously and looked at Consort Bu, saying, "Mother, I am now betrothed to the Kharachin tribe of Mongolia. When I come of age and the wedding date is set, you will also be able to rise in status because of your daughter."
"When Mother becomes a concubine, and if she's lucky, she might even become the head of a palace. Mother should be happy then."
Lady Bu stared wide-eyed.
“Moyaqi, you…”
It must be admitted that Consort Bu was completely awakened by the Sixth Princess's words.
Although she was reluctant to leave her only daughter to marry far away in Mongolia, she knew that her daughter was growing up and would eventually have to get married.
Rather than marrying into the capital and receiving no support, it's better to marry into Mongolia.
At least if her daughter marries into Mongolia, she can rise in status and advance further because of her daughter.
