The two chatted for a while, but Tong Cheng'er started to get a little bored.

Through chatting, Tong Cheng'er discovered that the Third Princess Consort wasn't so annoying after all.

Tong Cheng'er was a little embarrassed. Should she know?

The Third Princess Consort continued, "This Mahjong game is easy to learn; you'll see once you try it."

As she spoke, the Third Princess sent someone to invite two distinguished guests over.

These two noble ladies were brought along by Emperor Kangxi on this trip. They were about the same age as the girls, around ten years old, and they got along well with each other.

The four people sat down, and the Third Princess Consort began to explain the rules of Mahjong to Tong Cheng'er. The more Tong Cheng'er listened, the more familiar it sounded, as it was so similar to Mahjong.

The more I listen, the more it sounds like it. Could this Mahjong be the predecessor of Mahjong?

Thinking this way, she played a couple of rounds and became familiar with the rules. Plus, she had a science background and was good at math, so she could count cards. As she played, the amount of silver in front of her increased, almost piling up into a small hill.

Tong Cheng'er looked at the increasing amount of silver in front of her. Although it wasn't much compared to her assets, it was real money!

It's bright and very beautiful.

She smiled at the other three and said, "I'm a newbie, I was lucky, please let me win."

The Third Princess Consort didn't care about the small amount of money and said with a smile, "I didn't expect my sister-in-law to be such a little miser. I never knew that before."

“I wasn’t familiar with Third Sister-in-law before, but she knows now! I should thank Third Sister-in-law for her generosity; she gave the most today.”

The Third Prince's wife found it amusing, though she didn't know why. Yesterday, she had found the Fourth Prince's wife quite displeasing.

After thinking it through overnight, I surprisingly found my fourth sister-in-law quite pleasing to the eye, which was rather strange.

Third Princess Consort: "You, Fourth Brother dotes on you, he never shortchanges you, and he cares about this too."

Tong Cheng'er gave a coquettish laugh: "This is different, this is something I won myself."

It was free.

The other two dignitaries also laughed upon hearing this.

The four of them played mahjong for half a day. Tong Cheng'er's relationship with the Third Princess Consort improved a lot. In the past, when the two met, their words were full of barbs.

Today, everyone was calm and peaceful. The Third Princess Consort was also a noble lady from a prominent family, so she was naturally not lacking in anything and had the proper demeanor. Naturally, they were able to have a good chat.

When it was time, the two distinguished guests said they had to go back.

This meant the game of Mahjong was off. Just then, Rulan came in and said, "Madam, His Majesty sent someone to say that His Majesty has invited His Majesty and the princes to dine with him, and that you need not wait for him."

Tong Cheng'er nodded: "I understand."

Just as she finished speaking, a maidservant from the Third Prince's side entered and announced that the Third Prince would not be returning.

The Third Princess nodded knowingly, then said to Tong Cheng'er, "How about we have lunch together this day?"

Tong Cheng'er was surprised and felt strange. Had her third sister-in-law taken the wrong medicine today?

They were being far too nice to her.

Seeing Tong Cheng'er's surprised look, the Third Princess Consort chuckled, "Sister-in-law, you don't think it's a good idea?"

Tong Cheng'er shook her head: "No, since Third Sister-in-law has said so, it is naturally good."

She wasn't worried about being drugged while dining on her own turf.

Tong Cheng'er instructed Ru Lan, "Have someone prepare lunch."

As she spoke, she asked the Third Princess Consort, "Third Sister-in-law, is there anything you can't eat?"

The Third Prince's wife shook her head: "No."

Tong Cheng'er nodded and said to Ru Lan, "Get ready!"

The two had lunch together. During the meal, the Third Princess was very kind and her words were not inappropriate. However, this made Tong Cheng'er feel increasingly strange.

After finishing the meal, Tong Cheng'er couldn't help but ask, "I feel that Third Sister-in-law is a little different today. I wonder why?"

Upon hearing this, the Third Princess smiled and said directly, "Sister-in-law, you're probably wondering why I didn't deliberately make fun of you today!"

She cherished the affection she had shared during their first two months of marriage and felt that the Third Prince treated her exceptionally well. She wanted to spend her whole life with him, but as it turned out, it was just wishful thinking on her part.

The Third Prince was not her ideal man. His heart was too big, filled with too many people, so much so that she felt too crowded and wanted to get some fresh air.

Tong Cheng'er was taken aback: "Third Sister-in-law, you've really come to your senses?"

Third Princess Consort nodded: "I've thought it through. I'm a noble lady from a prominent family. Before I got married, I was pampered by my father and mother. There's no reason for me to act like a resentful woman after becoming the Third Princess Consort."

It's not worth it at all.

Tong Cheng'er nodded; she was starting to believe her.

"It's good that Third Sister-in-law has figured it out. I hope she can continue to do so in the future."

Stop being so stubborn.

It's actually quite endearing how she is now; it's really not worth it for a man.

"Thank you for your kind words, sister-in-law. I also hope that you and your fourth brother will live in harmony and happiness for the rest of your lives."

Perhaps she had truly come to terms with it, because the Third Princess Consort suddenly felt that even though she was unlucky and had met a bad man, seeing others living well was actually not so bad.
