Chapter 135 The Passerby Who Didn't Get the Owl in Harry Potter 12
After finishing her magic theory class, there were no more classes in the morning. After lunch, Jiang Yue went back to the common room. In the evening, Jiang Yue was video chatting with her parents in front of the floor-to-ceiling window. Since they got the two-way mirror, they had been contacting each other more often. A while ago, when it snowed, Jiang Yue even showed her parents the snowy scenery of Hogwarts, which was undeniably beautiful.
That evening, Jiang Yue explored Hogwarts in her Animagus form and saw Harry, Hermione, and Ron sneaking towards Hagrid's hut. Jiang Yue hovered above them for a while, mentally asking Bai Ze, "Bai Ze, roughly where is the story at now?"
"Based on my calculations, it's highly likely that Hagrid's dragon egg is about to hatch. Master, please look behind you; Malfoy is following behind. It matches the plot."
"Fire dragon? Forget it, I'm not going to watch it. It's not interesting at all. It's so different from the dragons I remember. It's too ugly."
"Would you like to remind Ms. Hermione about being followed?"
"It's no use. We've already seen the three of them come out. Even if we didn't see the dragon Malfoy, he would have already told us. The dragon is getting bigger and bigger and will have to be sent away sooner or later. There's no point in telling them in advance. But let's stay with them for a while. It seems that a unicorn died today. Let's go see if we can save it. Maybe we can raise a unicorn."
When the three were brought to Hagrid by Filch, Jiang Yue flew above them. When the man in black approached Harry Potter, Jiang Yue flew above the unicorn. Unfortunately, the unicorn was already dead, and Jiang Yue could not revive the dead creature, so she could only express her regret. After the centaur appeared and drove the men away, and seeing that they were safe, Jiang Yue flew away.
The next day, the Gryffindor students were shocked to see the points their house had lost. However, the students in their house were generally easygoing and didn't take it too seriously. Besides, final exams were coming up soon and everyone was busy studying, so they didn't have much time to worry about the points. Some of the Ravenclaw students weren't as busy as the students from other houses. Whether the students from their house did well or not was another matter, but passing shouldn't be a problem.
Before they knew it, the exams were over, and Jiang Yue and her friends were about to start their summer vacation. But the biggest event of the year hadn't happened yet. Just then, Jiang Yue saw the trio rushing toward Hagrid's cabin. They must have discovered something amiss. A moment later, the trio returned and headed straight for Professor McGonagall's classroom.
Jiang Yue watched as the three of them walked out dejectedly after a short while. Jiang Yue had been standing behind them, talking badly about Professor Snape. When she was caught, she couldn't help but laugh out loud, which made Professor Snape and the trio glare at her angrily. Jiang Yue put on an innocent expression, "How can you blame me for this? Who told you to talk badly about people without even keeping it to yourself?"
Back in the common room, Jiang Yue brewed a pot of spiritual tea and chatted with a few of her classmates, listening to their answers to the day's exam. That evening, back in her dorm, Jiang Yue wondered if she should use her invisibility to take a look, since it was quite a memorable moment. Just as she was debating, Hermione video-called her. When Jiang Yue answered, three heads appeared on the mirror. Ron, standing next to her, looked on incredulously: "Is this a two-way mirror? Isn't this thing supposed to be lost? I read in the books that the dialogue wasn't this clear, and this interface..."
Ron was still rambling on and on when Harry and Hermione pushed his head away. Harry said impatiently, "Get to the point! This isn't the time to discuss this."
Then they told Jiang Yue what they knew about the whole story. After listening, Jiang Yue stroked her chin and said, "You mean Professor Snape might steal the Philosopher's Stone tonight? And Professor Dumbledore isn't at school yet, and the three of you are going to stop him?"
After listening to the trio's story, if Jiang Yue didn't know the plot, she probably would have thought Professor Snape was the mastermind. So Jiang Yue said, "It's unlikely that Professor Snape was the one who stole the Philosopher's Stone. Anyway, why did you call me here?"
"We're planning to ask you to join us; the more people there are, the stronger we'll be!"
Jiang Yue was completely baffled by this turn of events. She didn't know why they were looking for her, but since she was also in the mood to watch the drama unfold, she readily agreed. After hanging up the video call, Jiang Yue rushed to the fourth-floor corridor. When she got there, she found that Harry and the others hadn't arrived yet. After waiting for a while, although she couldn't see them, she could hear their voices: "Jiang Yue hasn't arrived yet? Should we contact her to see where she is? The door is already open; Snape might have already gone in."
Jiang Yue canceled the Disillusionment Charm and then faced the direction they were speaking, saying, "I'm here." This nearly scared them to death. Hermione knew Jiang Yue's strength, and seeing her approach eased her initial apprehension. The group exchanged glances, went inside, and closed the door. Cerberus was already asleep. Harry then said, "Cerberus is asleep. Snape is here; he's cast a spell on the harp."
After the three moved the three-headed dog away, Jiang Yue recast the spell on the harp to prevent the dog from suddenly waking up as happened in the original story. Harry and Ron opened the trapdoor and looked inside; it was pitch black. Hermione and Jiang Yue walked over to them, and Hermione said, "There's no ladder here. How are we going to get down?"
"There's no other way but to jump," Harry said in a low voice, looking at everyone.
"Who wants to be the first to go down? Are we really going to jump? We don't even know how deep this hole is."
While they were still discussing, Jiang Yue lifted her robe and jumped down. The first thing she felt was the cold, damp air. After falling for a while, she felt herself landing on something soft. Jiang Yue sat up and felt around. It must be the Devil's Internet Cafe. So she shouted up, "There's a net down here, you can jump now!"
Harry jumped down, followed closely by Ron and Hermione. Ron groped around for a moment and asked, "Wow, what is this thing?" He then tried to stand up.
As they were talking, the Devil's Web wrapped around them. Jiang Yue couldn't accept this, and before Hermione could explain what it was, she fired a shot: "Fluorescent Blink!" In just a few seconds, the Devil's Web retreated, avoiding the sunlight and warmth, and released its vines from their grasp.
"Thank goodness you were here, Jiang Yue!" Ron and Harry were full of gratitude. Jiang Yue looked at Hermione and said, "I think Hermione also realized that you could have come over without me, it would just have taken a little longer."
