Qingyou glanced at the incense in the imperial physician's hand.

"Are you all blind? The incense hasn't even been lit yet."

Hearing her say that, everyone looked closely at the spices in the imperial physician's hand, and sure enough, they were still intact and had not been burned.

The Fourth Prince and Shi Lingqiao were in a hurry to have the imperial physician examine the incense properly, but now things are awkward.

Shi Lingqiao's mind raced, and she quickly came up with a clever idea: "It doesn't necessarily have to be lit. I did smell incense when I came in."

She bowed slightly to the imperial physician, saying, "I would be grateful if you could examine me carefully and clear my name, as well as that of the Fourth Prince."

Qingyou raised an eyebrow and said, "What, are you trying to use the Fourth Prince's status to threaten the imperial physician?"

Shi Lingqiao secretly resented her mother-in-law for targeting her, and pitifully shook her head, "I didn't, I just wanted to prove my innocence."

Qingyou sneered, "You still have a clean reputation? You were able to have an affair with Jiwen in a teahouse before you even entered the Duke's mansion, and now you can do the same thing as the Fourth Prince."

Huo Jiwen: "..." Why is he being dragged into this again?

The fourth prince also had a headache. "Aunt, let the imperial physician examine her thoroughly."

Qingyou said, "Go ahead and investigate. I didn't say you couldn't investigate."

"Since you're convinced that something's wrong with this incense, then please have the imperial physician examine it and then light the incense to see if there are any problems."

The Fourth Prince believed that the medicine prepared by Shi Lingqiao must be exceptionally effective, so he nodded and said, "It's acceptable."

The imperial physician examined and smelled the incense carefully again. "Looking at it and smelling it, there's really no problem. I'll light it and try it."

Both Qingyou and the Fourth Prince agreed, "Let's order."

The imperial physician lit the incense, and a delicate fragrance filled the room.

Those watching from the doorway stepped back a bit. They saw that the Fourth Prince and Shi Lingqiao seemed certain that there was something wrong with the incense, so they also began to doubt whether there really was a problem.

Retreating was also out of fear of getting caught in the trap.

Qingyou, along with Granny Qi and her maid, did not leave but remained in their original positions.

Neither the Fourth Prince nor Shi Lingqiao moved when they saw this.

Huo Jiwen didn't leave either, standing quietly in the room.

He also wanted to know if his beloved had been tricked into doing such intimate things with the Fourth Prince.

After a short while, no one in the room showed any adverse reactions.

The imperial physician studied it for a while longer and said, "I'm sure there's nothing wrong with this incense."

"I've checked everything else in the room, and there's nothing wrong with it."

He looked at the Fourth Prince and said, "If Your Highness doesn't believe me, you can call a few more imperial physicians or doctors from outside to come and take a look."

The fourth prince's first reaction was to go see Shi Lingqiao.

Seeing her pale face and disbelief, one could tell that the incense was probably really fine.

There are only two possibilities: either the incense was switched, or there is nothing wrong with the incense itself.

He could only bite the bullet and say, "No need."

Qingyou sneered, "Now that the facts are right in front of you, you have nothing left to argue about."

After she finished speaking, she looked at Huo Jiwen and asked, "What's your decision?"

Huo Jiwen was devastated by the result and found it hard to believe and accept that he had been betrayed.

Hearing his mother's question, he inexplicably asked back, "What do you mean, how do we decide?"

Qingyou raised an eyebrow. "What do you want to do with Shi Lingqiao?"

"We, the Duke's mansion, dare not accept a woman who cannot be kept like this."

"Since the Fourth Prince likes it, I think we should let him take it back to the Fourth Prince's residence."

The Fourth Prince: "..." It's as if his Fourth Prince's residence is just a junkyard, dumped on him by the Duke's residence if they don't want it.

Shi Lingqiao was furious. What did her wicked mother-in-law take her for? She treated her like she was just being discarded. It was too much.

She walked up to Huo Jiwen, grabbed his arm, and cried, "Husband, the Fourth Prince and I have been wronged."

"You know, I have absolutely no affair with him."

She couldn't just be kicked out of the Duke's mansion like that, so she could only place all her hopes on Huo Jiwen.

Huo Jiwen looked at her aggrieved expression, half believing and half doubting.

He didn't speak immediately, and Shi Lingqiao couldn't help but pinch his arm hard when she saw this.

"My husband, I was truly tricked, please believe me!"

She then implied, "You know I can't be with the Fourth Prince today."

Upon hearing this, Huo Jiwen shuddered.

He pondered for a moment, then looked at his mother with a conflicted expression. "Mother, I believe Lingqiao was framed. She couldn't possibly have had an affair with the Fourth Prince."

This is the only option now. Firstly, he doesn't want Shi Lingqiao to be kicked out of the Duke's mansion, since she is the woman he went through so much trouble to marry. Secondly, he is afraid that Shi Lingqiao might go all out and suddenly reveal what she originally planned to do with Huo Xi and his mother.

Qingyou had already anticipated that the char siu bao would make this choice.

Her face showed disbelief, and she raised her hand, pointing at him with trembling fingers, "You, you must be out of your mind! What kind of love potion did she give you? She blatantly cheated on you, and you still can't bear to let her go."

"Our Duke's mansion cannot afford a woman like her who does not uphold the virtues of womanhood."

Then she looked furious and said, "If you still want to protect her, then you can get out of the Duke's mansion too."

Huo Jiwen never expected that his mother would make things difficult for him in front of so many people, insisting on making him a cuckold.

He said with a wronged and helpless expression, "Mother, please stop forcing me, okay?"

Because he had been holding back his resentment for a long time, he couldn't help but say again, "Your biological son is me, not Huo Xi."

"You!" Qingyou only managed to utter one word before she suddenly spat out a mouthful of blood and fainted.
