Qiao Qiu: What exactly is my gender?
Ji Rufeng: I also want to know what my gender is.
Qiao Qiu: Brother, do you want to question life?
Ji Rufeng: I'm already questioning it.....
The three of them remained silent for a while, each lost in their own thoughts, before Ji Rufeng finally asked, "Have you thought of anything?"
"I didn't think of anything," the ring said, half-honestly.
Qiao Qiu said helplessly, "I didn't expect this either. There were absolutely no clues. It would be hard to guess at all."
“Exactly,” the ring chimed in.
“I understand what you’re saying, but I didn’t expect it either,” Ji Rufeng said.
The ring and Qiao Qiu turned to look at him, then turned back.
"The sky is no longer what it used to be. The starry sky used to be so beautiful. Master, you loved lying like this and looking at the stars," the ring said.
Qiao Qiu laughed and said, "Yes, I used to love lying like this and looking at the starry sky, because looking at the starry sky like this, I could see a lot of things. Those things might happen soon, or they might happen in the future."
“I know, it’s about peeking into fate. I enjoy it too; every time I’m in the sky, it’s like watching a story unfold,” the ring chuckled.
“You like looking at the starry sky so much? I do too. In that case, I’ll do something to clear the clouds and reveal the moon.” Ji Rufeng raised his hand, and a golden light shot into the sky.
Suddenly, the sky was filled with rosy light, spreading outwards like waves, and the stars and moon became bright, each one so clear that it seemed as if you could see and touch them.
Qiao Qiu looked up at the sky with a smile, "It's so beautiful."
What mortal emperors revered as observing celestial phenomena was treated like watching television by them.
If those mortal emperors knew this, they would surely vomit blood.
...
The night passed just like that. The next morning, Dong Yu and his family got up and found the three of them sleeping in the yard.
Dong Yu and Luo Lan exchanged a smile and took out blankets from the room to cover them.
Although they are gods and don't get sick, they always feel that this is better.
The three slept well, but were also vigilant enough that they woke up when Dong Yuluolan approached.
Qiao Qiu rubbed her eyes sleepily, "You guys got up so early."
"Big sister, why don't you go back to your room and get some more sleep?" Roland said. "It's still early."
Qiao Qiu glanced at the sky. She had stayed up late watching the stars last night, and it was only just getting light. It seemed she hadn't slept for very long.
Qiao Qiu nodded, her voice slightly nasal, and said, "Alright, we'll sleep a little longer. You can make your own breakfast."
Roland smiled and said, "Big sister, you go to sleep well, don't worry about us."
Qiao Qiu rubbed her eyes again, then waved her hand, and the three of them disappeared.
Roland and Dong Yu were used to them using magic whenever they had free time, so they went to cook breakfast on their own.
Dong Yuan was quite young, and woke up earlier than most adults. His eyes lit up as he watched Qiao Qiu use magic, but he couldn't say anything yet. He raised his hand and waved it like Qiao Qiu, making incoherent noises.
The Dong family ate breakfast first, and then sat in the yard playing with little Dong Yuan.
Just then, a strange movement suddenly appeared in the sky.
Roland seemed to sense something and looked up at the sky. After all, she had once been a goddess, and she understood some things.
She felt as if something had broken in, but she didn't know what it was, or if it was her imagination or if someone had actually broken in.
If someone breaks in...
A glint flashed in Roland's eyes.
Suddenly, there was a 'clang' behind her—the sound of weapons clashing.
Roland hurriedly turned around, and a red dress fluttered in front of him.
"Big sister!"
Qiao Qiu turned around and smiled at her, "Honey, are you alright?"
Roland shook his head. "It's nothing."
Qiao Qiu raised an eyebrow at the woman who had launched the sneak attack, looked her up and down, and sneered, "My mother said that ugly people are often troublesome, and she was right about that."
The woman in front of him was plain-looking, with almost no asymmetry in her features. Her eyes were different sizes, her eyebrows were different heights, even her nostrils were different sizes, her mouth was crooked, and she had buck teeth.
Her entire appearance was so unbearable that it was impossible to look at her directly.
Qiao Qiu turned her eyes away slightly, unable to bear to look.
Dong Yuluolan's view was blocked by Qiao Qiu's flowing red dress, but Dong Yuan's view was not.
Dong Yuan didn't know what aesthetics were, but the one glance he gave her made him burst into tears.
Roland quickly picked up Dong Yuan and comforted him. Dong Yu saw that her son had actually been frightened and cried, and she became curious about the woman's appearance.
With this in mind, Dong Yu glanced to the side...
"Bang--"
The sound of a bench being knocked over made Roland look up, only to see Dong Yu's back as she hurriedly ran towards the toilet.
"Husband!?" Roland frowned. "Why are you running?"
Hearing the voices behind her, Qiao Qiu couldn't help but laugh and kindly reminded her, "Seventh Sister, please don't turn around."
"Oh, okay."
Upon hearing Qiao Qiu's words and Luo Lan's reply, the ugly woman's face turned as black as the bottom of a pot.
"This is outrageous!"
"What do you mean by 'going too far'? You're ugly, so you can't even say that?" Qiao Qiu said.
The ugly woman's eyes flashed with a hateful red light; she loathed Qiao Qiu's face.
A person with a face like that must be a vixen!
"You vixen, prepare to die!"
Qiao Qiu raised an eyebrow slightly, flipped her hand, and the red sword spun around in her hand before flying towards the ugly woman.
This is Qiao Qiu's favorite move; it can kill instantly.
As long as the speed at which the stab goes is fast enough.
Without a doubt, the speed of this sword was far beyond what that ugly woman could achieve.
So she was pierced in the chest, stopped sprinting, fell to the ground, and turned into a pile of powder.
After the red sword disappeared, Qiao Qiu turned around and sat down on the other side of Dong Yuan.
Then she conjured up Dong Yuan's favorite lollipop and handed it to him, saying, "Xiao Yuan, look, what's this?"
While still crying, Dong Yuan turned his head and saw the lollipop. He immediately stopped crying, a big smile appeared on his face, and he reached out to take it.
Qiao Qiu placed the item in his hand, patted his little head, and then took out a handkerchief to gently wipe away his tears.
Roland looked at her. "Big sister, weren't you sleeping?"
"Yes, but that little thief was too blatant; it was hard not to notice him," Qiao Qiu said. "So I came out, but luckily, I made it in time."
Roland laughed, "Big sister, you've saved my life again, thank you."
Qiao Qiu smiled and said, "We're like sisters, no need for formalities. As long as you're alright, nothing else matters."
Roland looked around but couldn't find Ji Rufeng or the ring. "Big sister, where are brother-in-law and Xiao Jie?"
"They stayed up too late stargazing last night, let them get some more sleep. They're usually tired enough, this is just a small crisis, I can handle it." Although Qiao Qiu said this, she didn't take that ugly woman seriously. That ugly woman made her feel nauseous just looking at her.
