The next day

The servant handed the hairpin he had bought from Yu Man Lou to Li Zhan.

“Sir, these are three hairpins that I picked out from the latest trendy items at Yu Man Lou. I’ve heard that the wives of prominent families nowadays all like these openwork gold hairpins.”

"I'm sure Madam will like it too," the servant said, placing the gold hairpin he had just bought on the table.

There was a hint of laughter in his voice. A smile also graced his face.

"Yes, I understand." Li Zhan said expressionlessly after listening to the servant's words.

Then, he looked at the gold hairpin that the servant had presented.

It does look pretty good.

Li Zhan then picked out a gold hairpin with a cloud and phoenix pattern from the hairpin collection.

I intend to give it to Mo Qian.

As for the other two more exquisite gold hairpins, they were kept and given to Jiao Niang.

"It's alright, you can go now." Li Zhan then dismissed the servant.

After the servants left, a flash of annoyance crossed his eyes when he saw the gold hairpin with cloud and phoenix patterns.

Then, to avoid seeing it and not wanting to be bothered, he put the gold hairpin back into the box.

Li Zhan brought the gold hairpin he had chosen to give to Mo Qiandi to Mo Qiandi's courtyard.

Then, Li Zhan went into the room.

“Madam, this is a hairpin I brought back for you from Yu Man Lou on my way back to the manor today.” After saying this, Li Zhan placed the hairpin on the table next to Mo Qian.

A smile lingered on his face, and his voice was gentle and kind.

"I've long heard that Yu Man Lou's jewelry is excellent, and women both in the capital and elsewhere praise it highly. I specially bought this for you, Madam. Let's see if you like it?"

Li Zhan then added, a smile on his face.

After hearing Li Zhandi's words, Mo Qian turned her gaze to the gold hairpin on the table.

It was just a hollowed-out gold hairpin, but the craftsmanship looked pretty good.

A hint of indifference flashed in Mo Qian's eyes.

Not long after, Xiaolian came in from outside the door carrying two bowls of ice cream.

"Madam, General, the ice cream is ready." After entering the room, Xiaolian carried the ice cream towards the direction where Mo Qian and Li Zhan were.

Then, the ice cream was placed on the low table between the two of them.

"Hmm." After Xiaolian put the ice cream down, Li Zhan's eyes turned to the ice cream.

For a moment, a look of surprise flashed in his eyes; he hadn't expected it to be done this way.

Then, Li Zhan picked up one of the bowls and began to taste it.

The moment I put it in my mouth, I felt a cool sensation spread throughout my body, which was very refreshing.

After that, Li Zhandi ate faster than usual.

On the other side, Mo Qian naturally picked up the remaining bowl and started eating.
