Is your mother feeling unwell?

Most elderly people enjoy being around people, so if the other person asked her not to make too much noise, it's probably because they were worried about disturbing her rest.

"My mother is sick. She has a very strange illness. She has to sleep for more than 18 hours a day, and most of the time she is in a daze and not fully conscious!"

The man turned and left the house, seemingly to prepare dinner.

This family's behavior is really strange; the man is in charge of cooking, while the woman seems to be the one in charge.

Soon Lin Xue saw the sleeping old man.

When he was asleep, the old man looked very kind.

But as soon as she sensed someone entering, the old woman immediately opened her eyes and looked at Lin Xue with a vicious gaze.

“My mother-in-law wasn’t like this before, so you don’t need to worry. Although she looks a bit scary now, she won’t really do anything to you!”

The man had already brought in the baked stuffed pancakes and cooked a large pot of mushroom soup of unknown origin.

Lin Xue only recognized some of the ingredients: mushrooms, green vegetables, lean meat, and apples.

Although the soup looked strange, Lin Xue took a sip and found it tasted surprisingly good.

"Thank you for treating my mother. Tomorrow I will go with you to the forest to find materials."

"We don't have much to offer our distinguished guests, so we hope they won't find our food too simple."

After Lin Xue finished her bowl of soup, the man immediately stood up and served her another bowl.

"Please have some more, sir!"

The woman kept urging her to eat more, and fortunately there were plenty of fillings in the pancakes, so they were all able to eat their fill.

Lin Xue then went to the forest with the man, and his wife got up early to prepare food for the two of them.

This forest is very large, and many families live on its edge.
