In the post-apocalyptic world, electricity is scarce, and light attracts zombies, so people generally refrain from venturing out after dark. If they must spend the night outside, they make sure to find a safe place to hide before sunset.

"Wake up! There are many roadblocks set up to stop the zombies from getting ahead, so you can only rely on your own two legs. If you feel better, get up and walk by yourself."

Yu Ling rubbed her eyes in confusion and found herself lying in the back seat of an SUV, unable to wake up no matter what the system did.

(System: ...Aside from the female lead being a danger, being by her side is actually the safest thing for the host. There's absolutely no need to worry about zombies.)

"Okay, you lead the way."

After getting out of the car, Yu Ling noticed that there were still several zombie fragments with only claws left hanging on the front of the car, and the car body was covered with claw marks and bloodstains. It seems that Jiang Xue's brutality was... she went too far when she beat up the original owner.

Jiang Xue led the way, weaving through buildings. Corpses and wrecked vehicles lay piled up on either side of the road, and many infected people were locked inside residential buildings, their roars rising and falling.

This road wasn't absolutely safe. Yu Ling and her companion encountered several groups of zombies, all of which were blasted to smithereens by Jiang Xue's lightning. Yu Ling, meanwhile, mingled nearby, using an iron axe she'd picked up from the roadside to whack any lone zombies one by one.

Jiang Xue was already very experienced in fighting zombies. Her lightning-type ability had reached the S-level. Although she couldn't say that she could fight a horde of zombies without getting hurt, she had no problem dealing with these low-level zombies in front of her.

To her surprise, this non-combat researcher, who had been hiding in the laboratory for years, was able to cooperate with her so skillfully even with his powers disabled.

I underestimated her.

Jiang Xue sighed inwardly.

The two were almost at the last building, a large shopping mall, but the unusual silence ahead made Jiang Xue wary.
