Ai Cao was bound to a system under the Heaven's Will.
The skills provided by the system allow men to get pregnant, using their bodies as nourishment (upon death) to birth new life.
...
The eerie wind brought by the ghost swept past the mugwort.
They flew nimbly into the palace, which had been shrouded in purple mist. Ai Cao's words were simple and easy to understand; even those who had lost most of their senses could clearly comprehend what she meant.
They were going to seek revenge on their enemies.
After a few breaths, only a few aimless ghosts remained in the sky.
Ai Cao opened her skill panel. She designated the palace as the target area and excluded the human emperor from it.
She calmly used the "Good Pregnancy" skill.
First, several guards near the palace gate collapsed to the ground groaning.
The blood flowing from their bellies seemed to be trying to make up for all the blood they had lost in the past few years, squeezing out all the blood from every extremity of their bodies.
They struggled to remove their armor.
But their trembling hands fell limply to their sides as soon as they touched the straps of their armor.
Blood seeped from the gaps in their exquisitely crafted armor and flowed down to the base of the wormwood.
Ai Cao glanced at them only once. The blood she had smeared on her eyelids had dried, and she could no longer see the souls struggling to break through the soil within them.
She doesn't need to see it.
Qingyun burned a talisman to keep it in the map state, then reached out to the mugwort.
She is confident that she can handle the situation herself, but she still hopes that Mugwort will stand by her side.
Ai Cao smiled and took her hand. They rose into the air, lifted by Qingyun's spiritual power, and flew together towards the most magnificent building in the palace.
They stood atop the tall palace, alongside the roof ridge beasts.
Ai Cao glanced down at the wide square, half of which was covered in blood. She asked, "How are we going to eat this time?"
Qingyun thought for a moment and said, "Let's eat it like this."
"Should we go see him?" Ai Cao asked.
Qingyun shook his head with a smile and said, "He's about to die."
She raised her hand and waved it, causing her long silver hair to move without wind. Her five tails behind her suddenly whipped around, enveloping them in enormous, semi-transparent phantoms; she then pointed at the palace below, and the phantoms of her tails rushed into it in a frenzy.
Qingyun chose a roof beast with a smooth head and sat down on it.
They listened together to the sounds coming from the palace. At first, there were sounds of people fleeing in panic, but after a muffled thud that pierced flesh, only wails remained in the palace.
This wail was no different from any other scream.
All of them were human screams of agony.
The points of light gathered behind Qingyun, coalescing into a sixth tail. She skillfully took out the blood bead, tossed it into her mouth, and crunched on it.
From the palace below, the woman's voice could be heard intermittently.
Artemisia said, "There are three more."
Qingyun nodded and said vaguely, "There are only three left."
Qingyun swallowed the blood droplets and continued, "Let me look at the map..." She glanced at the map and said, "The other three have run all over the country and are hard to find."
Ai Cao thought for a moment and said, "How can we gather them together?"
A tail slowly swayed behind Qingyun and reached her hand. Qingyun touched her tail, lost in thought for a moment, and said, "The memories of them from the blood bead I just ate are... clearer now."
Artemisia listened to her in silence.
Qingyun said slowly, "But those things I experienced myself... are all very vague. It's like I think my own experiences are not important, only the experiences I had with them are important."
Qingyun smiled and looked at Ai Cao, saying, "It's fortunate that I met you in this life."
Ai Cao smiled too. She casually stroked Qingyun's fluffy fox tail twice and said, "It's so good that I can help you."
They exchanged a knowing smile.
Qingyun waved his hand, leading the women out of the palace. He then told them the location of the town at the foot of Lingyao Sect Mountain and let them go back, allowing them to decide their own future destination.
The women dispersed.
Ai Cao and Qing Yun went to Shaolin again. With the help of the system and her sense of propriety, Ai Cao excluded a certain Buddhist disciple and then used the [Good Pregnancy] skill on everyone in Shaolin who could use it.
Some of the younger monks didn't respond to the "good pregnancy" omens, so she used "menstruation" and "false pregnancy" to make them stay put. Those who wisely hid weren't completely wiped out by Ai Cao; only those who came to her to question her were slit in the throat by her sword.
When they found the Buddha using the map, he was sitting cross-legged in front of the main hall.
All around him were scenes of sorrow for all living beings.
Qingyun strode up to him and stared at his face, which was as round as a full moon and had his eyes closed. He had only a red mole on his forehead, which seemed to suggest both affection and indifference.
The Buddhist disciple calmly asked, "What brings you here, female benefactor?"
“I’ve come to take your life,” Qingyun said.
Why?
"A life for a life."
The Buddhist disciple opened his eyes and calmly asked, "Since it is a life, why did you kill my fellow disciples?"
“These are the lives your senior and junior brothers owe you,” Ai Cao replied with a smile. “You should be glad they can only repay one life.”
“What about the even younger children?” the Buddhist monk asked.
“I just had bad luck,” Ai Cao said with a smile. “Like those unlucky souls who haven’t been able to defeat other women yet and haven’t been reincarnated.”
The Buddhist disciple closed his eyes.
Qingyun said, "Do you know anyone else? Like someone who's particularly enthusiastic?"
The Buddhist disciple nodded gently. He sighed and said, "He foresaw that you were a little fox in this life. In order to be worthy of you, he reincarnated early and became a dog in the mortal world."
Qingyun remained silent for a while.
There was nothing more to say between them. Their past relationship was over, and there was no need to mend it.
Qingyun's tail rose and calmly passed through the Buddha's chest. His lips instantly turned as white as snow, and Qingyun didn't waste a single drop of blood—she devoured the body.
Seven tails.
Having ruled out the location of the sword immortal, they found a stray, filthy little dog in the marketplace. The dog had short, yellow fur, and upon seeing Qingyun, it grinned and rubbed against her.
Artemisia asked, "Are you sure it's this?"
Qingyun pursed her lips, trying to resonate with the spiritual energy within the other person's body, and then nodded: "Yes."
A flash of silver light, and her tail pierced through the puppy's heart—devouring the human soul sealed within.
Her tail came out, and the puppy wasn't left with any wounds.
The puppy didn't know what was happening, and just whimpered and rubbed against her.
She now has eight tails.
Qingyun waved his hand, cleaned the puppy from head to toe, and stuffed it into Ai Cao's arms.
“This puppy is innocent,” she said. “How about we let Yao Yao raise it?”
The mugwort nodded.
A pair of fluffy fox ears appeared on Qingyun's head.
She listened carefully for a while and said, "Yao Yao said that the Human Emperor is dead and the Ruthless Sword Immortal is going to come out of the mountains again to fight against the demonic cultivators."
Qingyun already has eight tails.
They should make their move against him.
