Ai Cao was bound to a system under the Heaven's Will.
The skills provided by the system allow men to get pregnant, using their bodies as nourishment (upon death) to birth new life.
...
Artemisia argyi chuckled.
The system then realized that it had let something slip again.
It immediately wanted to dig a hole in the data space, pack its own source code, and stuff it inside.
But having already spoken, it said dryly, "But no one is dying now."
Ai Cao shrugged: "I was just lucky this time."
She glanced at the girls in the corner of the carriage, who were helping each other to their feet.
The girls did survive.
But is this a good thing for the woman in black?
Artemisia smiled silently. She and Lillian got off the carriage and stood in front of a garden.
The soil beneath my feet was damp and soft, and the garden was in full bloom.
But the dark sky and the vibrant scenery were all blocked behind the large black iron gate.
A sinister and terrifying atmosphere permeated the air.
Ai Cao asked the woman in black, "Have we arrived?"
The woman in black, who was still lifting the curtain, gave a soft "hmm".
For the first time, a faint smile appeared on her face: "This is..."
Her voice was drowned out by the heavy creaking of the garden gate.
The smile on the woman in black's face also faded.
A young girl in a long black dress pushed open the garden gate and walked out.
The girl's skin was as white as snow, without a single wrinkle.
The girl's eyes were a clear, red color, like rubies.
Her long hair flowed freely.
"My name is Helen!" the girl exclaimed, opening her arms wide with a joyful laugh. "Welcome to my castle, servants!"
A human girl finally lost control of her emotions. She collapsed to the ground, letting out a faint sob.
With that background noise, Ai Cao turned to look at Lillian.
Lillian is looking at Helen.
Ai Cao carefully examined Lillian's appearance again and asked the system, "Are they twins?"
"No," the system denied. "They just look like it. And Helen will die soon, then the female lead will become the male lead's white moonlight."
The mugwort nodded.
Unlike Lillian, who was carefully observing Helen, Helen didn't even glance at her. She merely showed herself, casually pointed to a human girl, had a servant take her to her room, and then left.
After she left, the servants dressed in white silently emerged from the garden gate.
They were led by servants through the garden and into a small door on the side of the castle.
Apart from the designated girl, they were all taken to an empty room.
The walls inside the room were a clean white. Huge floor-to-ceiling windows, like jewels, were set into the walls.
Even though she knew this was a vampire's lair, she couldn't help but think to herself how beautiful it was.
Ai Cao took two steps toward the stained-glass window, and seeing that Lillian was still standing there, she gently tugged at Lillian's hand and asked, "Are you alright?"
Lillian whispered, "It's okay. Did you see what she looked like?"
"Um."
“I am my mother’s only daughter,” Lillian whispered.
"Maybe it's just a coincidence?" Ai Cao comforted her.
Lillian shook her head slightly.
The servants who had led them into the room all left. Several girls who wanted to follow them out were also pushed back into the room by the servants.
The woman in black stood stiffly beside the servant.
Then, the heavy wooden door to the room closed.
The girls, who had just relaxed a little, tensed up again. They gathered in twos and threes, huddling in the corners and edges of the room.
They all lowered their voices to talk.
Anxiety and fear crept onto their faces.
The mugwort stretched.
She glanced again at the stained-glass window—the weather was bad tonight, so there was hardly any moonlight. Unable to tell the time from the light, she went to knock on the door.
"What's for dinner tonight?" she asked as she knocked on the door.
The girls closest to her were startled by her behavior. Some tried to stop her, but were held back by their companions.
Lillian walked to the door. She hesitated for a few seconds before raising her hand to knock.
They knocked a few times, but no one answered.
The girl next to her couldn't help but say, "Why did you knock on the door? No one will be home..." As she spoke, her voice trailed off.
Ai Cao blinked, her mind unchanged: "I'm hungry."
She took two steps back: "Lillian, take two steps back first."
Ai Cao stretched her stiff body from the carriage ride and smiled.
She kicked the door shut.
The door slammed shut. Ai Cao heard the wailing of the system inside her brain, and voices coming from afar outside the room.
Her smile widened.
Ai Cao kicked the door again.
A thin crack appeared in the heavy door panel beneath her shoes.
By the third time, a crack had appeared in the door panel, through which the passageway outside could be seen. Ai Cao moved to another spot and continued, quickly breaking the door into several broken planks.
Ai Cao patted her skirt and said to Lillian with a smile, "This door is quite thick."
Lillian glanced at the five-centimeter-thick layer of wood chips scattered on the ground and nodded: "That's quite thick."
Ai Cao widened the hole a little and looked out: "Wow."
The woman in black appeared silently, her face flushed with anger, just as she turned the corner of the corridor.
Ai Cao said to the system, "Look, now she's going to be a vampire hunter again."
System: "That seems to make sense... Wait a minute! She looks like she wants to kill you!"
Within two sentences, the woman in black and Ai Cao made eye contact.
The mugwort grinned and said, "Good evening."
The woman in black: "..."
