Chapter 269: Weak Paper Monster VS Enlightened Monk (1)

"Mom, hold on, the Pushan Temple is just ahead. Your son has already notified the young monk to inform Master Kongwu. You will be able to see him as soon as you arrive at the Pushan Temple." Rong Sheng, the richest man in the area, carried a backpack and supported his gray-haired mother as they climbed up the stone steps. The servant behind Rong Sheng had his hands free and was walking leisurely.

Rong Sheng did not understand why his mother was so obsessed with going up the mountain, but he was a filial son and wanted to fulfill whatever his mother asked for, whether in heaven or on earth.

Old Madam Rong was dressed simply and did not wear any luxurious ornaments. She only had a simple silver ring on her hand. Passersby who were praying to the gods and Buddhas stopped and quickly avoided her as if they had seen a wild beast.

Since there was no one to stop her, she pushed her son away, lifted her skirt, and climbed up with all her strength. Rong Sheng immediately chased after her.

The master had gone forward, so the servant could only run after him. He was just curious as to why the master had to carry a rotten sutra up the mountain. Moreover, the old lady had specifically asked the master to carry it, not letting anyone else do it.

When the servant caught up, Old Lady Rong and Master Kong Wu were already standing at the door. He stood quietly behind his master Rong Sheng.

"Master Kong Wu, I only ask you to tell me what reincarnation I will enter after I die." Old Lady Rong's eyes were burning, and Kong Wu lowered his head and twisted the Buddhist beads and chanted "Amitabha".

"Master, I only ask you to tell me the truth." Old Lady Rong's eyebrows were full of urgency.

"All sentient beings reincarnate in the world, because of the two inverted views and delusions, they occur in the place where they happen, and the karma turns." Kong Wu stopped twisting the Buddhist beads and turned his head away from her.

Old Lady Rong's face turned pale in an instant, and she murmured to herself: "I brought this upon myself, I brought this upon myself."

The servant did not believe in Buddhism, so he did not understand what Kong Wu was saying. But when he saw his master's face turn pale, he seemed to understand something.

"Master Kongwu, I can donate all my belongings, just to increase my mother's merits." Rongsheng put down the backpack and bowed deeply to Kongwu.

Kongwu's eyes were full of compassion, "The six realms of reincarnation, all beings are equal. Everything is already predetermined."

Rongsheng's face was pale, and Mrs. Rong's face was gray. The two supported each other down the mountain. The servant looked at the scripture in the backpack, not knowing whether to take it or not, and finally gritted his teeth and followed. The scripture was left in the place with the backpack.

"This scripture has been torn, which shows the sincerity of the owner of the scripture. Why can't the master be kind and comfort the old woman?" The pilgrim who came to burn incense from other places picked up the book in the backpack and asked.

Master Kongwu did not answer, but the little monk beside him took the initiative to speak.

"These six realms rotate with each other without rest. Why? Because when you have delusions and false views at any time and place, you create karma; whatever you do in any place, you will receive the corresponding retribution in reincarnation. Old Madam Rong will naturally receive the corresponding retribution for her own karma." Although he didn't know what kind of karma this old lady with a kind face and simple dress had created.

"Since Buddha can't save the world and can't eliminate karma, why should people worship Buddha?" The pilgrim asked again, and the young monk was stumped. He scratched his bald head and looked at his master for help.

Kong Wu put his hands together and looked at the Tathagata Buddha enshrined in the hall, and said compassionately: "The Dharma is subtle and profound. Inside the Dharma, you don’t feel the benefits of the Dharma; outside of the Dharma, you don’t feel any harm. But in Buddhism, you get one share of the fruit for every contribution, and that’s absolutely right. Buddhism is the freest and most equal place, with absolutely no favoritism. Among these “all sentient beings”, including hungry ghosts and hells, if you are determined to practice Buddhism, no matter how bad you are, you can become a Buddha; no matter how bad you are as a beast, you can also become a Buddha. The only thing to be afraid of is insincerity."

The pilgrim from another place thought for a moment, suddenly laughed, and thanked him: "Today, thanks to the master’s guidance, many of my doubts have been dispelled."

"The donor is a predestined person." Kong Wu nodded to him as a gesture, and walked into the hall.

The pilgrim stopped the young monk next to Kong Wu and said politely, "Please give this sutra to Master Kong Wu. Since it was brought by a Buddhist, it can only be owned by Master Kong Wu. I apologize for the offense just now. I hope you can forgive me."

The young monk touched his bald head and smiled innocently, "I have just been ordained and come into contact with Buddhism. I have not yet experienced the true inner principles. I am not worthy of being called 'Master' by the donor."

"It's okay. My mind is clear and I am learning from Master Kong Wu. I believe that I will become a Buddha in time." The pilgrim put his hands together, bowed, and walked down the mountain.

The young monk stared at his back blankly, because he actually saw a group of purple clouds on this pilgrim, which he had never seen on anyone else.

"Uncle Master, what are you looking at?" The young monk who had just been selected to enter the temple hugged his feet.

"No... nothing..." The young monk hurriedly ran into the hall with the book.

"Why are you so flustered?" Kong Wu knelt on the mat, closed his eyes, twisted the Buddhist beads and chanted the Diamond Sutra. There was a faint sense of majesty between his eyebrows. When he opened his eyes, his eyes were indifferent and clear, as if they could illuminate the soul of a person. This is also the reason why many people dare not look directly into his eyes.

"Master, Master, just now... that pilgrim just now?" The little monk scratched his bald head, wanting to tell what he saw, but afraid of being laughed at.

"You mean to say that the pilgrim had the aura of purple clouds." Kong Wu pressed his fingers on the Buddhist beads, tilted his head and looked at his disciple.

He didn't want to care about the mundane world, but the boy in front of him, who was only thirteen or fourteen years old, was indeed quite intelligent. Therefore, he was favored by him at first sight and accepted him as his subordinate. After a hundred years, he will take over Pushan Temple.

"Yes, yes, Master, I saw it... I saw it." The young monk was very excited and waved his hands. "Although it is not very spectacular yet, I feel that it will soon gather on top of his head."

"This pilgrim will be invaluable in the future. When he comes back to fulfill his wish, you can ask him to reshape the Bodhisattva in the temple with a golden body." Kong Wu unknowingly revealed the secret of the future and silently chanted "Amitabha" in his heart. However,

the young monk did not understand the deep meaning of his words. He smiled foolishly a few times, put the tattered scriptures next to him and ran out.

"Why don't you just tell her that she will go to hell after she dies." In the empty hall, the Buddhas looked compassionate, and Shi Yi, who was attached to the torn paper, revealed his true form in front of him.
