Gao Shijie acted as an intermediary and introduced the two parties.

Liu Meiniang crossed her arms and said, "Let's go, take me to see what's going on."

Everyone quickly got up and led the way for Liu Meiniang.

Upon arriving at the riverbank, Liu Meiniang immediately took out her whip, cast a spell, and lashed it fiercely into the river.

The whip was so powerful that everyone standing by the river swayed as it struck.

With one lash, all that remained was a deafening spray of water.

Liu Meiniang was a little embarrassed; she had intended to put on an act, but had failed.

Pei Zhi put her hand on Gao Shijie's shoulder and said, "Do you think if I laughed out loud right now, she would turn around and leave?"

Gao Shijie said with certainty, "She wouldn't dare."

Pei Zhi nodded, "Yes, what you said makes a lot of sense."

Then Pei Zhi tickled Gao Shijie's ticklish spot, and Gao Shijie couldn't help but burst out laughing.

Just as Liu Meiniang was feeling ashamed, she heard someone laughing at her from behind.

Liu Meiniang turned around and glared fiercely at Gao Shijie, as if she wished she could transform into a demon and devour him.

Gao Shijie shrank back, "Are you trying to get yourself killed? Why are you getting me into this?"

"Just because they're bored."

Liu Meiniang put her hands on her hips and said, "Use your magic to drain all the water from the river. I want to see if this monster will ever show itself again!"

Upon hearing this, the disciples of the Miaoyin Sect immediately tried to stop them, saying, "You mustn't! If the river is drained, how will the villagers live?"

Draining the river is one solution.

If the river water is drained away, won't the villagers who rely on this river to irrigate their crops die of drought?

"Then let's go down and see what this thing is."

The disciples of the Miaoyin Sect retorted, "No, we don't even know the full appearance of the demon, how can we go down into the river?"

Liu Meiniang was furious. "This won't work, that won't work, so what do you suggest we do?"

Pei Zhi suddenly spoke up: "Actually, I have a solution."

Liu Meiniang raised an eyebrow. Something was wrong. Why did this woman agree so readily?

If Pei Zhi were to go, what if she got injured?

Liu Meiniang believed that once she returned to the demon realm, the punishment she would receive would be ten times more severe than Pei Zhi's injuries.

Liu Meiniang went down into the river, holding a whip in one hand and a talisman in the other, and then desperately shouted for help.

"They're here! They're here!" Everyone saw splashes of water appearing in the river.

Everyone stared intently at the river, waiting for the monster to reveal itself before rushing out.

As soon as the demon appeared, the disciples of the Miaoyin Sect unleashed their magical artifacts and shouted, "Quickly, now!"

Everyone jumped up, raised their magical artifacts, and created a barrier in an attempt to control the demon.

Otherwise, if the monsters realize something is wrong and dive into the water, it will be difficult for them to make a move.

Gao Shijie clapped his hands: "Great, it's tied up."

Pei Zhi sensed something was wrong, "Where is Liu Meiniang?"

Gao Shijie glanced at the river surface. "I don't see it. Did it sink?"

They subdued the demon, but they didn't see Liu Meiniang anywhere.

Pei Zhi stepped forward with her sword, followed closely by Gao Shijie.

Pei Zhi thought there would be another long battle, but with one sword strike, the demon fell to the ground and died.

A disciple from a certain sect kicked the demon lying on the ground: "This thing, it's been keeping us hooked for days?"

"That's all there is to it; it's just a charade in the water."
