Lu Mingxu initially thought of interjecting a few words, so that Chi Xiuwen wouldn't be left out in a weak position.

But soon, Lu Mingxu realized he was wrong.

Chi Xiuwen didn't need his help at all; Chi Xiuwen alone was enough to confront Xie Cinian.

Lu Mingxu also realized that Chi Xiuwen's sarcastic and strange behavior was surprisingly powerful.

"Although I don't know which of you is more capable."

Pei Zhi said helplessly, "But I know that if you don't give me food and I starve to death, that's your doing."

Lu Mingxu's massage was so comfortable that Pei Zhi actually fell asleep.

Although Xie Cinian and Chi Xiuwen lowered their voices, Pei Zhi wasn't deaf.

Pei Zhi was hungry, so Chi Xiuwen quickly cooked a few dishes and brought out a soup that he had prepared earlier that morning.

Lu Mingxu set out the bowls and chopsticks, took a bowl and served Pei Zhi a bowl of soup, then took another bowl and served Pei Zhi rice.

Pei Zhi took the hot towel, wiped her hands, sat down, picked up her chopsticks, and began to eat.

Although Xie Cinian was a guest, no one welcomed him, and naturally no one entertained him.

Xie Cinian also felt self-conscious, so he served himself some rice and sat down next to Pei Zhi.

Xie Cinian took a bite of the chicken wing made by Chi Xiuwen and couldn't help but nod.

Chi Xiuwen washed his hands and came over. "Mr. Xie, you flatter me."

"Just to be honest, if Mr. Chi ever goes bankrupt, he can come work as a cook at my house. The pay will be excellent."

Hearing this, Lu Mingxu couldn't help but frown.

How come I never noticed before that Xie Cinian's mouth is quite annoying?

Pei Zhi placed a piece of pig's trotter into Xie Cinian's bowl, "Even eating can't shut you up?"

Pei Zhi meant that Xie Ci Nian had said a lot.

When Chi Xiuwen saw that Pei Zhi had stood up for him, he didn't argue back.

We managed to have a meal without any major incidents.

After the meal, Lu Mingxu took the initiative to clear the table, put the bowls and chopsticks in the sink, and waited for the housekeeper to come and wash them around eight o'clock.

We have a housekeeper who doesn't live with us. She comes over after lunch to wash the dishes, clean the kitchen, and do other cleaning.

Chi Xiuwen said, "I'll take you."

“Okay.” Xie Cinian did not refuse. He guessed that Chi Xiuwen had something to say to him.

The two entered the elevator, and Xie Cinian spoke first, "What, do you want me to back down?"

Chi Xiuwen smiled and said, "President Xie has misunderstood."

Xie Cinian said confidently, "I hope so. After all, I, Xie Cinian, am not the kind of person who backs down when faced with difficulties."

"I have something to say that I truly believe."

Xie Ci Nian: "What?"

"As long as Pei Zhi is happy, I will support whoever she chooses. I hope you will too, Mr. Xie."

Xie Cinian seemed to have heard a joke, "President Chi, you've portrayed yourself as a bit too grand."

“If you really didn’t care, you wouldn’t have joined forces with Lu Mingxu.”

Xie Cinian bluntly exposed Chi Xiuwen's lie: "You're doing this simply because you're worried you won't be able to keep Pei Zhi. Having another person means having more strength, right?"

He said that Pei Zhi could choose anyone, as long as Pei Zhi was happy.

They were secretly putting in effort, doing one thing on the surface and another behind the scenes.

Xie Cinian straightened his coat. "Also, let me remind you, if you like someone, you have to win her over through her stomach. But that old trick doesn't work anymore."

“I have plenty of money. Whatever Pei Zhi wants to eat, I can hire the best chef and use the best ingredients to cook it for her.”

Chi Xiuwen nodded, "President Xie is right."

Chi Xiuwen heard it but ignored it and pressed the close button on the elevator.

Pei Zhi played games for a while in the evening, then took a shower and prepared to go to bed.

I don't know if it was because I dozed off before dinner.

Pei Zhi tossed and turned in bed, unable to fall asleep.

I glanced at the time; it was 1 a.m.
