Double award-winning film empress Lin Zhenzhen tragically dies and falls into the Empire's Quick Transmigration System. With her honor reset to zero, she must start anew.
Looking at the s...
The next morning.
Yu Jiamu accompanied Lin Zhenzhen as they walked out of the police station.
"Don't overthink it, just wait for the investigation results. Trust me, everything will be fine."
Lin Zhenzhen nodded.
She knew that Yu Jiamu had mobilized his influence to participate in the investigation, and with the combined efforts of both sides, the truth would surely come to light.
She looked up and asked, "Are you busy going to work?"
Yu Jiamu glanced down at his watch; there was indeed an emergency meeting this morning.
It's about the formulation of a plan for the new acquisition project; Yu Jiaheng has already caused him trouble several times over this matter.
Yu Jiamu sneered inwardly.
Yu Jiaheng was so furious simply because he felt that something that originally belonged to him had been taken away.
That's just his consistent bad habit.
"I need to go to the company this morning. Do you want to go home or to school?"
After thinking for a moment, Lin Zhenzhen typed three words on her phone: Sanatorium.
Yu Jiamu raised an eyebrow: "Are you going to see your maternal grandfather?"
Lin Zhenzhen nodded.
Yu Jiamu didn't ask any more questions, but said something when he dropped her off at the entrance of the sanatorium.
"Don't leave yet, I'll come pick you up later."
Lin Zhenzhen nodded and watched his car leave.
She was greeted by the same nurse as before.
“Ms. Ling, just as I said on the phone, your grandfather doesn’t have any major health problems recently.”
"She's a bit sleepy and doesn't want to eat."
She opened the door and saw that the room was dark. She lowered her voice and said, "See? They're asleep again at this hour."
Lin Zhenzhen looked at the frail old man on the bed. Compared to the last time she came, he seemed to have lost more weight.
She sat by the window, and the nurse began tidying up the room.
Perhaps the noise was a little too loud, because the person woke up not long afterward.
The old man stared at Lin Zhenzhen and asked suspiciously, "Who are you?"
Before she could answer, the nurse leaned over and explained, "She's your granddaughter, Lingzhen."
The old man seemed to find it hard to believe. He sat up and carefully examined Lin Zhenzhen.
He froze when his gaze met her eyes.
He struggled to move closer to the seat.
He forcefully pried open his eyelids, revealing his already cloudy eyeballs.
After staring at Lin Zhenzhen for about ten seconds, he pouted in disappointment.
“You are not Ling Zhen, you are not my granddaughter.”
The nurse sighed.
Unexpectedly, the old man suddenly reached out and grabbed Lin Zhenzhen's hand, lowering his voice as he spoke.
"Is Zhenzhen dead?"
Lin Zhenzhen was startled. She looked up and saw two tears welling up in the old man's eyes.
She didn't know how to answer; in a sense, the original owner of this body was indeed no longer there.
All that remains in this world is her, the imposter.
And soon, I too will be leaving.
Seeing her silence, the old man began to sob.
An immense sorrow overflowed from this already exhausted body and spread to Lin Zhenzhen.
She was even moved by the child's crying, and her eyes welled up with tears.
"Why are you crying?" The nurse quickly went over to comfort her.
Lin Zhenzhen felt she shouldn't stay there, so she turned and left.
She was sitting on the flower bed when she received a message from Yu Jiamu.
Yu Jiamu: I'm done here, I'll be right there.
Lin Zhenzhen was in a bad mood and simply replied: No need to come over, I'll take a taxi back myself.
Yu Jiamu insisted: "It is I who want to see my maternal grandfather."
Lin Zhenzhen stared at the screen for a long time before replying with an "okay".
When Yu Jiamu arrived, Lin Zhenzhen was already waiting for him at the front desk.
"Why do you look a little unhappy?" Yu Jiamu pinched her cheek. "Where's Grandpa?"
Lin Zhenzhen looked up and told him about how the old man had forgotten everyone after he fell ill.
Yu Jiamu paused for a moment.
He narrowed his eyes and smiled gently: "It's okay, I haven't met him yet, I'm here to introduce myself."
“I said, ‘Grandpa, hello, I’m Yu Jiamu, your grandson-in-law.’”
Lin Zhenzhen shook him off, and her previously low mood improved.
The old man slept until noon this time.
As soon as he woke up, he started complaining that he was hungry.
It seems they've completely forgotten about the little incident that just happened.
As she approached the door, Lin Zhenzhen suddenly felt a pang of fear; she was afraid she would make someone cry again.
It turned out she had worried unnecessarily.
When she and Yu Jiamu appeared before him together, the old man's expression immediately changed.
He put down his chopsticks and looked Yu Jiamu up and down several times before suddenly realizing what he had done.
"You're Houwen?"
The two realized that he had mistaken Yu Jiamu for Chen Houwen.
And Lin Zhenzhen...
"Xiao Lian, quickly let Hou Wen sit down next to me. I have something to say to both of you."
Just as Yu Jiamu was about to explain, Lin Zhenzhen tugged at his sleeve and gently shook her head.
She pushed Yu Jiamu to the window and gestured for him to sit down.
The old man smiled and said, "I heard you want to marry her?"
Although he knew he was confused and mistook the two for Ling Zhen's parents.
But upon hearing this, Yu Jiamu still felt as if his secret had been touched, and he subconsciously stood up.
The old man quickly waved his hand and said, "Don't worry, I'm not that old-fashioned. I support free love on campus."
He held Yu Jiamu's hand and talked on and on.
It's just that his mind wasn't clear, and the content of his speech was very disjointed.
