Chapter 105 Interstellar Glory (Part 7)

Just as Jasmine was struggling with her decision, federal officials approached.

"The children in the family are immature," Effie said with a faint smile.

She was just an adopted daughter, and one who seemed restless; she was nothing in front of these high-ranking federal officials.

Their eyes were only on Effie, and because of Effie's attention, they shared a little with Shen Wangshu, but nothing more. Even their praise was for Effie's excellent teaching, and for the Field family's reputation to be well-deserved; Shen Wangshu was completely ignored.

.

Shen Wangshu smiled and acted like a lady for a while, but she felt she had had enough. Being a mere vase was tiring. She subtly took a few steps back, walked to Karl's side, and secretly took his large hand. His large hand reacted quickly and immediately grasped hers, holding her tightly in his large palm.

Shen Wangshu smiled and narrowed his eyes.

Jasmine quickly slipped away at that moment.

She felt suffocated just standing there.

The humiliation of being ignored, and the disdainful looks from federal officials when they heard about her misdeeds, filled her with fear.

The blonde girl's seemingly innocent words nearly killed her; she could hardly breathe.

Was Alice doing it intentionally or unintentionally?

Jasmine couldn't help but glance at the blonde girl, only to see her leisurely holding hands with the black-haired general, enjoying their sweet moment. However, a short time later, Kars was also surrounded by high-ranking officials, and this time Shen Wangshu's presence carried more weight.

When the dark-haired man noticed that he would glance at the girl unexpectedly every two sentences, as if cherishing her as if he wanted to hold her in the palm of his hand, the image of this seemingly naive and innocent girl became much clearer and more complete. Moreover, among intelligent people, the naive and innocent type is generally more popular.

General Karls is already quite formidable; he doesn't need to marry a smart wife to add to his already impressive stats, does he?

When everyone heard Carls say that he loved the Field family's daughter, they offered their blessings, but in their hearts, they began to frantically calculate the pros and cons of the matter.

Surrounded by a mob, Shen Wangshu looked at the chaotic crowd with a mixture of amusement and exasperation. She disliked these scheming federal officials. Forcing a smile, she and Aifei made their way out, almost as if fleeing a disaster.

Watching her slender, fair legs dart away as she followed Effie, Karls touched his cheek, which had just been lightly nibbled at, and stared blankly as the Field family's spaceship departed, speechless. He looked up at the sky, watching the spaceship disappear, unable to look away. This dazed state frustrated his adjutant, Lance, who was standing beside him.

"Sir, we still need to go back to the military headquarters to report." Karls had just returned from the battlefield and hadn't even reported back to the military headquarters before rushing off to save his sweetheart. Lance thought that was quite a feat.

The black-haired general gazed at the starry sky, offering no reply.

Lance took a deep breath.

He felt that his general was the most unremarkable boyfriend in history.

Even General Effie seems more caring than him.

As an adjutant, one not only has to worry about the superior's official business, but also about the superior's personal affairs. The blond adjutant felt he had to give himself a big thumbs up.

Karls lowered his eyes.

Effie was so difficult to get close to; even when he tried to be intimate with the girl he loved, she would warily push him away.

“You are welcome to pay a visit.” Langston paused, then began to impart the legendary art of shamelessness, whispering slyly in Carls’ ear, “The Field family’s old house can’t just disappear, can it?”

Of course, if Admiral Effie refused his superior officer entry into the Fields, it would further garner Miss Alice's sympathy. Lance thought he would never have come up with such a cunning idea before; it must be because he had been around Admiral Karls for so long that he had been corrupted by his surroundings.

He chuckled sinisterly twice, then saw the black-haired man turn and look at him quietly.

"This was all your idea," he said casually.

Lance's face immediately darkened.

This is clearly a situation where if the head officer is questioned by General Effie, the adjutant will have to take the blame.

What happened to the decades-long promise of true love?!

The blond adjutant stared blankly at his shameless superior, his heart filled with loyalty to the dog, and vowed never to get involved in his superior's messy affairs again.

Effie was clearly unaware that Karl was about to visit her, following her adjutant's clever idea. Exhausted, she led her entourage back to Field's old mansion. It was a very old mansion, with a white domed house in the center that was somewhat dilapidated. However, the mansion was quite large, with not only a place to dock the spaceship but also a larger garden.

Shen Wangshu walked through the brightly blooming garden, looking around, and led Aifei by the hand into the house, where she saw many photos displayed in the clean living room.

It was spotless, clearly because it was wiped clean every day.

Her gaze fell on the people laughing and joking in the photos.

Those were Alice's father, mother, and brothers.

Time seemed to freeze at the moment of their laughter, and looking at those happy smiles made Shen Wangshu feel very sad.

She sat down next to Effie, resting her head on her lap and quietly looking at the photos. Jasmine followed her back; knowing Effie was cold and unfriendly, and fearing she would be driven away again, she shrank back and quickly went upstairs.

She didn't see the blonde woman, who was wiping a picture frame with her eyes down, look up and give her a cold glance. She pinched Shen Wangshu's chin and said helplessly, "You're always so naive, she..." Her sister was a kind-hearted child. Seeing Jasmine's tears, she didn't want to send her away again.
