Please collect my column~~~~~ Behind every passionate and earth-shattering love story, there are countless cannon fodders.
Shen Wangshu, who has been transmigrating into cannon fodder in ever...
Shen Wangshu closed his eyes, got up, took out his phone, and started calling home.
If Ning Rou's best friend was truly a decisive and ruthless woman, then even if she disliked Ning Rou, she shouldn't have sent her to her death. Ning Rou considered her her best friend, and even though she unreasonably demanded that she spend a lot of money on many inexplicable things, she never questioned her about it.
If she wanted that spatial pendant, she only needed to say so, and Ning Rou would have given it to her. She trusted and relied on her best friend, yet she wasn't given a single way out. That was bad enough. But what wrong did Ning Rou's parents, who used to love that woman like their own daughter, do?
They were bitten to death by the zombies that turned into their nannies in the early days of the apocalypse. The woman knew this, but never warned them once in this life.
However, Shen Wangshu could not stand idly by.
She dialed her home phone, and as she listened to the busy tone, her heart slowly grew cold.
Ning Rou's parents should have been home at this time, but no one answered the phone.
Shen Wangshu looked at the end of this shopping mall floor.
There was a huge warehouse there, built as if it were just a wall, and few people would notice the huge space behind the wall, which was filled with all kinds of materials that Ning Rou had purchased.
Food, water, energy-saving flashlights, weapons, warm and sturdy clothing, ropes, salt, medicine, and tobacco and alcohol, etc. This batch of supplies cost at least five million, which was all of Ning Rou's private savings. She also borrowed a large sum of money from her parents to buy a sturdy off-road vehicle as her friend suggested, and also bought a lot of gasoline and diesel through family connections.
The car and gasoline were stored in the underground garage of the Ning family villa, while the remaining supplies were kept in this shopping mall. Shen Wangshu knew why her friend had stored the supplies in this mall.
There was also a large supermarket below that shopping mall. In the early stages of the apocalypse, people would only be frantically trying to escape and wouldn't think of going to the supermarket to collect supplies.
The woman wanted to kill two birds with one stone; after taking the supplies, she would rob the supermarket clean, and with all the odds and ends of rare items, she wouldn't have to worry about running out of anything.
The warehouse was nearby, but Shen Wangshu didn't have time to think further and ran along the small passage on the other side.
It will take a long time to collect those supplies, but what she lacks most right now is time.
Unable to reach her family by phone, she could only drive home as soon as the chaos began. She knew it might be too late, and she knew abandoning the supplies would be foolish, but she always felt that there were things more important than life and gathering supplies. She didn't want to look at that warehouse again and let it shake her resolve, and she knew there was still a safe route directly to the outside world from this shopping mall. Ning Rou's good friend certainly wouldn't put herself in a deadly situation, so she had already told Ning Rou to park her car outside the passageway.
It was an empty space, so naturally there wouldn't be any zombies.
Now it all benefits Shen Wangshu.
She was about to run down the stairs when she heard her cell phone ring.
She saw that the number on her phone was from her own family, and she suddenly felt relieved.
"Mom?" she called out urgently as she answered the phone.
"Rou Rou!" Ning's mother's voice was still somewhat shaken and tinged with fear, yet she called out more urgently than Shen Wangshu, "Where are you?! What's the situation outside? Are you alright? Should I come pick you up?!"
She was so worried about her daughter that she hadn't even realized she had just been on the verge of a terrifying ordeal herself. She was terrified, yet she had the courage to come out and search for her daughter. Shen Wangshu felt her eyes stinging, and hearing Ning's mother crying worriedly on the phone, she quickly comforted her, saying, "Don't worry, I'm fine."
"Where are you?" Ning's mother asked, crying.
Beside her came Ning's father's urgent calls.
"I'm at the mall, about to go home." Knowing that Ning's parents were alright, Shen Wangshu felt relieved and hurriedly instructed, "Is the housekeeper sick? Lock her in the house immediately. Mom, with this virus, you and Dad mustn't let her bite you." She was afraid that if she spoke too late, Ning's parents might get hurt. Hearing Ning's mother say that the housekeeper had actually tried to bite her, but the elderly couple were rescued, she breathed a sigh of relief, then asked anxiously, "Rescued? A stranger?"
In this apocalyptic world, even strangers can be a source of great concern.
"It's alright, he's a kind young man. He even told us to close all the electronic gates outside the villa," Ning's mother said gratefully.
Shen Wangshu didn't know who the other person was. Judging from Ning's mother's words, the person had gone to deal with the nanny's body. After hesitating for a moment, she said, "Please thank him for me."
Although she found strangers suspicious and harbored a sense of wariness, after her parents were rescued, she felt nothing but gratitude towards the person who saved them. Perhaps he wanted more—supplies, money—but what in this world could be more precious than her parents' lives? She was willing to give anything to the person who saved her parents.
She felt relieved, glanced at the sky, and suddenly turned her head, her eyes brightening as she looked at the warehouse.
"If Song Xi comes to see you, don't open the door for her." Song Xi was Ning Rou's good friend, a woman who dared to be ruthless. Shen Wangshu was worried that Ning's parents might fall victim to her. Hearing Ning's mother's surprise, she narrowed her eyes and said, "She's the one who tricked me into this zombie apocalypse. This woman is my mortal enemy now. She's heartless and cruel. No matter what happens, you and Dad, don't be soft-hearted." Hearing Ning's mother's exclamation, she then cursed Song Xi for being heartless. She smiled, knowing that Ning's mother was already on guard, and then hung up the phone.
