For a child, the most important thing is to get enough sleep so they can grow tall. As for watching the excitement at night, Xiang Wan has absolutely no interest. With 007 as a huge cheat code, who would waste their energy going to the scene?

That night, the system, always eager for drama, recounted everything that had happened, making it even more exciting than a live broadcast.

While Yu Wuqing was asleep, Li Mu quietly got up, carefully packed the things he had already spotted into his bag, and then secretly opened the door and went outside.

It was already late at night, and the villagers were all asleep; almost no one had their lights on. Li Mu stumbled out, bumping into trees and walls, making Xiang Wan laugh until her stomach hurt. Needless to say, with all his random bumping, a lot of the medicinal powder Xiang Wan had prepared got onto his clothes. Accompanied by mosquitoes along the way, Li Mu's escape was truly spectacular.

Instead of taking the usual route for villagers to leave the village, he went in the opposite direction.

As soon as Xiang Wan finished her "hehe" sound, the system continued, "Yu Wuqing got up. Guess what she did?"

"Is that even a question? Given her feelings for Li Mu, she definitely wouldn't let him escape. She'd probably go to her father and discuss bringing him back!"

The system exclaimed in surprise, "It's only been a few days, how come you've suddenly become smarter?"

"hehe!"

She couldn't be bothered with this alarming system; she wasn't very smart, so she had to consider who she was with.

The system was completely bewildered: Being able to hear the host's thoughts is really annoying.

Yu Wuqing has indeed become shrewd. From the moment she married Li Mu, she started scheming how to keep him completely in the village. Given her age and appearance, she wasn't confident she could convince Li Mu to stay in Yu Family Village. So, the girl silently observed Li Mu's behavior, and whenever she noticed anything suspicious, she went to her father.

Yu Qian was no pushover. She thought she could just run away after becoming his son-in-law? No way! Upon hearing his daughter's words, he jumped for joy, immediately dressed, got out of bed, and, along with the village chief and a few other acquaintances, set off with torches to search for her.

The old men were also awakened. One of the more experienced men sent two strong men to search along the road that led to the village, while the others dispersed to the back of the mountain.

"She's quite intelligent!" Xiang Wan exclaimed.

The system replied nonchalantly, "Nonsense, who doesn't become shrewd after living for several decades?"

Huh? Why does it feel like it's talking about me? Xiang Wan quickly stopped herself; she felt like she was still a baby, and didn't want to get wrinkles.

Li Mu did enter the back mountain, but as an outsider who had been in the village for more than a year, even if he had followed the villagers into the back mountain, how fast could he have gone if he had wandered around in the dark?

The villagers reacted so quickly that before Li Mu could even find a place to stand, he could already faintly see the light of the torches.

"Fuck you, you bunch of bastards, I'll kill you all sooner or later."

Li Mu cursed and his viciousness startled many birds, completely exposing his true colors.

The villagers frequently venture into the mountains, so they can easily spot where people and wild animals are. From afar, someone will shout, "Over here! Come quick!"

Everyone headed in Li Mu's direction, and the firelight shone closer and closer.

In his panic, Li Mu ran headlong into the depths of the forest, but lost his footing and fell into a pit.

There aren't many other things in the mountains and forests, but snakes, insects, and rodents are definitely plentiful. Li Mu's fall woke up all the little insects, snakes, centipedes, and the like that that were living at the bottom of the pit. These animals really liked him, constantly climbing on him. Even if you shook him off, they would still come back. You could stomp on him, but they would still come back. It was driving Li Mu, a big man, almost crazy.

"Help! Help!"

Those two shouts completely revealed the location. Li Mu tried to escape but failed; he needed someone to come and rescue him. He couldn't remember his earlier thoughts of taking revenge on the villagers; he only knew that if he didn't get help, he would be devoured alive by the insects.

"I knew it! My cooking skills are pretty good," Xiang Wan said proudly.

"This little bit of stuff would be dead in a heartbeat in another world, you believe me?"

The system's words were like a bucket of cold water poured over Xiang Wan, completely waking her up.

Looking back at these worlds, each one seemed more challenging than the last. For the sake of her future safety, Xiang Wan decided to work hard to improve her skills; after all, more skills are never a bad thing. However, she would still remember being ridiculed by the system.

The villagers gathered around, watching Li Mu jump around wildly in the pit, occasionally reminding him where the bugs were and to get away, just like watching a monkey being performed. This made Li Mu so angry that he trembled all over.

Yu Qian stood at the edge of the pit, shouting and cursing, "You bastard, you ungrateful wretch! I married my daughter to you because I thought highly of you, and you still dare to run away? I'll teach you to run away, I'll teach you to run away!"

As Yu Qian spoke, he threw stones into the pit. Li Mu's face turned ashen with anger, but he was powerless to stop him and could only plead, "Dad, Dad, please stop throwing them! Please pull me out quickly. If you don't hurry, Wuqing will become a widow."

"Hmph, if it weren't for my daughter, would I even bother with you?"

Yu Qian spoke toughly, but he didn't dare let Li Mu actually be bitten to death. There were many poisonous snakes and centipedes in the mountains. If one bite meant the end of his son-in-law, who would he rely on for the rest of his life?

But Yu Qian was still somewhat unwilling to let Li Mu get up there like that. From the moment Li Mu entered the Yu family, he had never called him "father" once. He only called him that just now because he was being saved, and he still felt resentful.
