Chapter 641 Vampire Hunter (20)

"Prince Arthur, the situation on the ground is critical. Should we go up and provide support?"

A guard rushed down and reported to Arthur.

Arthur's mind was not on this at all. Even if he didn't find Xiang Wan, he didn't intend to miss the opportunity to fight the gold-medal hunter.

"You lot, stay here and guard this place. Let one person escape, and you die!"

After saying that, Arthur transformed into a bat and quickly flew away from the lounge.

The guards stationed here carried out their duties meticulously, their eyes fixed on Xiang Wan and the others.

They had never seen Xiang Wan's true face. When she came out of the council hall, she had already put on a mask, and even Susan didn't know what she looked like. At this moment, she slowly woke up, her whole body beginning to tremble.

"Do not move!"

A guard shouted sternly, and Xiang Wan remained squatting in place, her body beginning to sway slightly.

"Move again, and I'll drain you dry!"

Xiang Wan trembled, her eyes revealing a longing.

The guard walked over impatiently, and the moment he reached out and patted Xiang Wan on the shoulder, Xiang Wan cast a dream spell on him.

"I'm suddenly a little hungry. You guys stay here and I'll be right back."

The guard's sudden change of attitude didn't surprise the others. Because with humans specifically provided for vampires to drink their blood, the higher-ups wouldn't care if there were one more or one less, especially in such chaotic times.

"Go early and come back early, don't eat alone."

And so, Xiang Wan followed the guard toward the entrance to the passage that had been burned down by the fire.

By the time the guards reported, the guards had already been withdrawn. Since the exits were all flames, there was no need to guard them. So, Xiang Wan took this opportunity to crawl out of the ash heap, and incidentally smeared her exposed body with black ash until it was completely charred.

As for the guard, she didn't kill him; she just made him confuse reality with his dream so that she wouldn't expose her whereabouts when she returned.

In the middle of the main road of Xiyue City, the battle between the top hunters and the vampires was in full swing, and no one noticed Xiang Wan. She only needed to find a place to stay until dawn to completely break free from Audra's control.

An uninhabited room with a secret chamber beneath it. After climbing in, Xiang Wan shaved her head completely with an ice blade, and used some rouge and other items left behind by the original owner to completely change her skin color and appearance, disguising herself as a homeless person, and curled up in a corner.

The body's aura and the hole in his neck were completely concealed by talismans drawn with spiritual power. He leaned against the wall, half-asleep, waiting.

On the ground, Audra swung his claws to repel a hunter who had ambushed him. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Arthur appear not far away and frowned.

He quickly approached Arthur, pulled him out of the fight, and stood him on the roof of a nearby building, asking, "Didn't I tell you to go to the council chamber? Where is he?"

"What time is it? Why are you still concerned about this?" Arthur was getting angry.

"I'm asking you, where are they?" Audra's voice turned cold.

"They ran away."

With a "whoosh," Audra leaped off the roof and disappeared from sight.

A flash of cold light appeared as Arthur dodged a stray arrow, revealing two sharp teeth as he unleashed his full power.

Audra emerged from the bathroom, holding half a bib, his eyes filled with frost.

"Your Highness, Duke Kara has sent guards to report that our castle has been attacked."

Simon rushed to Audra, his body bearing injuries.

Humanity has poured all its resources into fighting them; the battle on the ground is fierce, and their stronghold has been destroyed. The situation will likely worsen after dawn.

"Didn't I tell you to keep an eye on him?"

Filled with rage, Audra's mask instantly turned to ashes.

Simon was taken aback, then lowered his head and said, "It happened so suddenly, I didn't expect this to happen either."

"Find him! Go and find him! Don't come back if you can't find him."

"But Your Highness..."

Before Simon could finish speaking, Audra had already disappeared from sight.

Simon's hands clenched tightly: if he found that human first, he would grind him to dust!

As the first rooster crowed, the gold-medal hunters, still locked in fierce combat, shuddered and intensified their attacks. Clement and the others, however, flashed a resolute glint in their eyes. If they couldn't kill or severely wound Smith, they feared they wouldn't even have a place to live afterward.

That night, they all received news, more or less. Smith's battle lines were advancing in full force, and their resting places were all affected. Some were caught off guard and burned to the ground.

Audra had no interest in the battle, Kendroth had long since disappeared, Arthur was wounded, and Philocte, seeing that it was already daylight, grabbed a hunter and ran away. The remaining elders and the gold-medal hunters all suffered casualties.

Clement's eyes sharpened, and he instructed the elders to provide cover while he confronted Smith directly.

Unfortunately, Smith had no intention of confronting him head-on. He hadn't made a move in the entire night's battle. Seeing Clement risking his life, Smith reached into his robes, pulled out a porcelain bottle, and splashed it all over Clement's face in the direction of his attack.

That's holy water, the holy water that all vampires fear. Getting touched by it is like being poisoned; the wounds will never heal.

Clement intended to kill, but he didn't intend to gamble with his own life. After dodging, he signaled the vampires to retreat quickly.

When the first rays of sunlight shone down, the war between humans and vampires came to an end.

Xiang Wan crawled out of the secret room and stood on the street, breathing in the fresh air of freedom. She had never felt that being able to breathe freely could be so exhilarating.

Smith ordered his men to clean up the battlefield, which also included rescuing the humans hiding in the underground council chamber.

However, before the vampires left, they had drained all their blood, leaving none alive.

"Mr. Smith, do we consider this a victory?"

Noel stood behind Smith, his eyes filled with devastation, which made his voice sound heavy.

“This is just the beginning. If we can’t wipe out their entire stronghold before nightfall, they’ll likely retaliate fiercely. Inform Godfather Cruise that it’s time to set up the exorcism array.” Smith’s eyes remained completely calm.

"yes."

Noel accepted the order and left. Smith turned around and saw Xiang Wan standing in the sunlight, stretching out her arms and enjoying the warmth of the moment. He couldn't help but walk over and stare at her back in a daze.

"Sir, is there anything I can help you with?"

Xiang Wan turned her head and looked at Smith.

The old man, with his white hair and beard, showed a hint of disappointment in his eyes, but still said to Xiang Wan, "Do you like the sunshine? Humans all like the sunshine."

"I just love the freedom of basking in the sunlight."

"Everything that's happening here is for freedom. Why not join the Hunter's League, learn a skill, and fight for freedom?"

"It would be my great honor!"

Xiang Wan and Smith looked at each other and smiled, like old friends who hadn't seen each other for many years.

If she is destined to be an enemy of vampires, then she must become the strongest member of the Hunter Alliance. Only in this way can she truly fulfill the original owner's grand ambition.
