Yang Suiyi is a total homebody whose favorite pastime is writing novels on various websites. However, she inevitably abandons every single one, earning curses from countless readers while gleefully...
Suiyi went outside and saw the two of them follow her out, so she wandered aimlessly through the alley.
When she reached a corner, she was met with several zombies.
The most eye-catching of them all was the little zombie behind the main zombie. If she remembered correctly, that child should be the original owner's younger brother.
But strangely, he wasn't a zombie, yet he was walking unsteadily behind a zombie—no, he was imitating how a zombie walks.
Sui Yi: "This child is really smart. He's worthy of being my younger brother."
System: "That's Ming Chuxia's younger brother, what's your relationship with him?"
"Of course we're related. I possessed Ming Chuxia's body, so I am her, aren't I?"
"Heh! At best, you're just a lost soul."
"Not at all, you're too kind! It's better than you being nothing!"
Sui Yi manipulated her mental power, trying to control the zombies.
"Hey! It worked!" Sui Yi successfully made contact with the zombie.
He issued orders to several zombies.
"Stand against the wall." The zombie received the order and walked to stand against the wall.
Sui Yi smiled, looked at the bewildered little kid, and walked over.
The child looks to be only about ten years old, with an adorable little face; he's incredibly cute.
He watched as Suiyi walked over, staring intently at her. When Suiyi reached him, he roared at her.
Sui Yi: "..."
It's both funny and sad. Is this person addicted to role-playing?
Suiyi took off her hat and glasses and looked at the child with a smile.
The child's eyes widened, and he felt a lump in his throat, tears welling up in his eyes.
"Sister! Waaah~ Waaah~" A heartbroken cry rang out as the child opened his arms and hugged Suiyi, sobbing.
Suiyi was at a loss, feeling quite bewildered. She had never been good at coaxing children.
"Don't cry, sweetie. I'll protect you from now on," Suiyi said gently, patting the child's back.
Only after the child stopped crying did he release Suiyi and look at her.
"Sister, Mom and the others have all changed. I'm all alone at home now, and there are so many scary monsters. I saw them eating people. It's so terrifying!" the child gasped.
"It's alright, you still have your sister. Come on, follow your sister, she'll protect you from now on." Sui Yi got up and took the original owner's younger brother, Ming Xiachu's, hand.
As Sui Yi led him away, he suddenly felt a surge of power within his body. It seemed his guess was right; besides completing missions, he could also do things that would benefit the original owner of this body.
"Tongzi, Ming's parents are too lazy to come up with such names." The original owner's name was Ming Chuxia, and her younger brother's name was Ming Xiachu. They were definitely siblings.
Are you as lazy as me?
Suiyi: Damn it, I get itchy if I don't criticize myself every day.
Sui Yi led Ming Xia Chu to where they found Luo Jing Li and his companion.
“This is my younger brother, Xia Chu,” Sui Yi said, pulling Ming Xia Chu over to introduce him to the two of them.
“We’ll take good care of him in early summer. Xia Chu, from now on I’ll be your brother Zhou.” After saying this to Sui Yi, Zhou Zhao bent down and spoke kindly to Ming Xia Chu.
"Brother Zhou!" Ming Xiachu called out to him.
"Let's go, it's getting late. Let's find a place to eat so we can get on our way to Zhou Zhao's house." After saying that, Sui Yi led the group to visit each house, collecting supplies.
As the saying goes, perseverance pays off, and the group finally found a clean place.
"This family must have left before the apocalypse, so this place is relatively clean and hasn't been ravaged by zombies." After walking in, looking at the bright and spacious room in front of her, Suiyi said happily.
After checking each room, Suiyi moved on to the kitchen, rummaging through drawers and cupboards until she finally found some food that she could eat.
"Xia Chu, are you hungry?" Looking at her younger brother standing at the door, Sui Yi remembered that none of them had eaten yet.
Ming Xiachu nodded, looking at her expectantly.
Sui Yi smiled, found the rice and the pot, and started cooking and chopping vegetables.
Luo Jingli heard the clattering sounds from the kitchen and came over. Standing at the door, she saw the busy figure and felt a warm feeling in her heart.
Half an hour later, Suiyi carried the dishes and rice out of the kitchen.
"Oh, you're here too? That's even better, come and lend a hand." Sui Yi turned around and saw the two people, one big and one small, standing at the door.
Luo Jingli took the plate from her hands, and Sui Yi turned around and gave her younger brother a bowl and chopsticks, then carried the food out.
They placed the food on the table, and the four of them sat down to begin their meal.
"Mmm! Chu Xia, your cooking is really good." Zhou Zhao took a bite and his eyes lit up. Not to mention in the apocalypse, even before the apocalypse, he had never eaten such delicious food.
Sui Yi smiled as she looked at the other three. Apart from the ever-elegant and noble Luo Jingli, Zhou Zhao and his younger brother Ming could only be described as wolfing down their food.
"Eat slowly, I have extra left. This meal is all you can eat."
Suiyi picked up a little shredded potato and put it in her mouth. It tasted like nothing at all. She looked at the three people who were eating with great relish and felt a little envious.
Luo Jingli glanced at her, then continued eating elegantly.
After dinner, Zhou Zhao volunteered to wash the dishes, while Sui Yi, her younger brother, and Luo Jingli sat on the sofa.
"It's late tonight, let's get some rest! We still have a long journey ahead of us tomorrow. Xia Chu and I will share a room, and you two can each have your own."
"I'll take Xia Chu with me. He's so old, it's always a bit inconvenient for him."
"Well... alright!" Since she was a zombie and looked no different from a human, Suiyi agreed because she was afraid that she might frighten Ming Xiachu in case of an accident.
"Sister, don't worry, with Brother Luo here, I'm not afraid." Ming Xiachu said to Suiyi in a very sensible, childish voice.
