Yang Suiyi is a total homebody whose favorite pastime is writing novels on various websites. However, she inevitably abandons every single one, earning curses from countless readers while gleefully...
The soldiers watched Luo Jingli walk into the base with respect, their eyes filled with pride.
Unlike Sui Yi, Luo Jingli attracted a lot of attention when he stood next to her, perhaps because of the age-old principle that like repels like and opposites attract.
Men are jealous of Luo Jingli and like Sui Yi, while women are the opposite.
"Hey! Look at those women, their eyes are like knives. If looks could kill, I'd probably be riddled with holes by now!" She moved closer to Luo Jingli, nudged his shoulder, and gestured for him to look over there.
Luo Jingli glanced around casually, making a deep impression on those who harbored hostility towards the two of them.
Perhaps these people, if separated, wouldn't cause any major trouble, but right now he can't stand hearing a single bad word said about Suiyi.
"You're just as good." He turned his gaze away, focusing intently on the woman beside him, his eyes filled with tenderness and affection.
Suiyi stared at him, but quickly gave in.
He turned around and patted his chest.
"Holy crap, I almost drowned in his eyes."
"Pathetic!" The system raised its furry little paw, intending to point its index finger downwards, but because its fingers were short, the action resulted in all fingers pointing downwards. This had absolutely no effect of showing contempt, and the system became depressed!
"Hahaha! Hahaha! That's so stupid. System, did you get your hand caught in a door today?" Sui Yi laughed arrogantly, driving the system crazy, but there was nothing it could do.
"Sigh! I finally caught it!" Sui Yi was laughing her head off as she watched the system jumping around wildly!
Before long, everyone except Zhao Wen entered, and they all caused quite a stir. However, under the spotlight of Sui Yi and Luo Jingli, the commotion was greatly diminished.
Sui Yi looked towards the door and saw Zhao Wen talking to a soldier; they clearly knew each other.
"Has the rescue team returned yet?"
"Yes! I just got back yesterday, Captain Zhao. Did you run into trouble? You didn't come back with them."
"A minor problem, but it's been resolved. By the way, where are those people located?"
"Ordinary people are in Zone C, and those with superpowers are in Zone B. You should ask Captain Yu for the specifics; he's the one who arranges the people."
"Okay, thank you for your hard work." Zhao Wen patted the soldier on the shoulder.
"It's not hard work at all. It's an honor to be able to do something for humanity."
"Do a good job!" He looked at the soldiers with approval and then walked over to Suiyi and the others without further delay.
"What did you talk about?" Suiyi asked.
"This is about the rescue team. Let's go, I'll take you to find the people first. Can you tell me who they are?"
"Oh! My younger brother Ming Xiachu, and Zhou Zhao, he has superpowers. There are a few others who also have superpowers, they're probably together."
"Okay, then follow me."
Sui Yi and the others followed Zhao Wen into Zone C, where the superhumans were located.
These were no ordinary people; a group of handsome men and beautiful women walking down the street would attract 100% attention. Some people even whispered among themselves, speculating about their identities.
However, they ignored this situation, not wanting to cause trouble, and simply followed along, keeping their eyes down and their minds at ease.
"We're here, this is inside." Zhao Wen stood outside a somewhat low brick house, turned around and said to the group.
"good!"
Zhao Wen knocked on the door, and it opened from the inside. A soldier who looked about the same age as Zhao Wen appeared in their line of sight.
"Old Zhao, you're back?" Everyone was delighted to see Zhao Wen.
"Haha! This time it went fairly smoothly," Zhao Wen replied cheerfully.
"Who are these people?" After greeting them, he asked with a puzzled look at the group of people behind Zhao Wen.
"Oh! Lao Yu, these are friends I met on the road, they're here at the base looking for someone."
"who?"
“Didn’t our rescue team come back yesterday? Then there should be a few young people with superpowers who brought their children in as well.”
"Oh! There are a few. Wait a minute, let me check the records." The man greeted Sui Yi and the others.
Sui Yi smiled and nodded. The man then went into the house.
"Sigh! This is how the base's accommodations are. It's the apocalypse, our homes have been destroyed, and these houses are all temporary structures. The facilities and equipment are not as good as before the apocalypse."
When Zhao Wen saw the group looking around the base, he began to explain.
"This is already pretty good. It's much better than being homeless, facing life-threatening situations every day, and sleeping in the open."
"That's true. Oh, that was my colleague Yu Gang. We used to be in the same unit, and we came to the base together after the apocalypse."
No sooner had Zhao Wen finished speaking than Yu Gang emerged from the house, looking through a notebook.
"Fish tank? How could this person's parents be so clueless as to come up with such a fancy name?" Sui Yi chuckled inwardly, while the others also wore amused smiles. They probably wanted to laugh but held back for fear of being impolite. However, the upturned corners of their mouths betrayed their true feelings.
“Miss, who are you looking for? Here, take a look.” Yu Gang handed the notebook to Sui Yi.
Sui Yi thanked me and took the book to look through it.
Those who checked in on July 9, 2053:
Room 12, Section C: Zhou Zhao, Ming Xiachu, Bai Yiran, Su Ze, Huang Kai.
Suiyi closed the notebook and looked at the group.
"Great! They all live together, in Block C, number 12. Let's go find them now." Sui Yi handed the notebook to Yu Gang and said with a smile, looking rather impatient!
"Brother Zhao, could you please take us there?"
