Yang Suiyi is a total homebody whose favorite pastime is writing novels on various websites. However, she inevitably abandons every single one, earning curses from countless readers while gleefully...
Sui Yi sat on the sofa, played games for a while, then got bored. She glanced up at Lin Xiao, who was working diligently, nodded, pouted, put down her laptop, closed her eyes to rest, and waited until Lin Xiao finished his work. He looked up at Sui Yi and found her asleep. He gently got up, went over, and took the coat hanging nearby to cover her. Looking at her sleeping face, he was deeply moved. He checked the time and, seeing it was still early, didn't disturb her but sat beside her watching her.
Half an hour later, Sui Yi woke up. She looked around in a daze, seemingly lost in thought. Lin Xiao was absolutely smitten with her.
"Awake?" Lin Xiao asked.
"Hmm! What time is it now?" Suiyi asked.
"It's already 4:30. Get up, let's go."
"oh!"
"We're not going back to the villa today. I'll take you somewhere else," Lin Xiao said.
"Where?"
"You'll see when we get there." With that, Lin Xiao led Sui Yi out of the office. When they reached the lobby, some employees were still there.
"Peach, President!" Wan Lin greeted the two of them.
"It's time to get off work. No overtime today!" Suiyi suddenly announced to everyone.
"Really?"
"Really? Your CEO didn't object? So everyone go home, leave work early, and spend time with your families!" Sui Yi said with a smile.
"You're already exercising your power before you've even become the president's wife?" Lin Xiao whispered in Sui Yi's ear, his voice carrying a sinister undertone.
Sui Yi: "...". Ignoring him, she went out the door first. Lin Xiao followed with a light laugh.
Lin Xiao led Sui Yi to the market, where Sui Yi was completely dumbfounded. A dignified CEO shopping at a market—it was like a crane among chickens! Lin Xiao took Sui Yi's hand and led her to a fish stall, where he picked out a fish. They then went to other stalls and bought a lot of vegetables. Even after Lin Xiao finished shopping, Sui Yi was still in a daze.
“Hey, I don’t cook,” Suiyi said.
"I'll make it, you can try my cooking."
It's said that the way to a man's heart is through his stomach, and the same applies to women. This was one of Lin Xiao's tactics.
"You can cook?" Sui Yi was very puzzled. She wondered if a young master born with a silver spoon in his mouth could even cook something that would be edible.
"Don't worry, you'll see when the time comes."
After buying groceries, they went to the supermarket to buy seasonings, and then, with Suiyi in tow, set off for their other residence.
After getting off the bus, Lin Xiao was carrying several bags, and Sui Yi walked over.
"I'll take some." He said, reaching out to grab the bag.
"You underestimate me with such a small amount of food." Lin Xiao dodged Sui Yi's outstretched hand.
"By the way, this is one of my properties. Go and see what the view is like. I'll take care of these things."
Sui Yi nodded and followed him inside. It was a simple three-story building. Sui Yi strolled to the back garden, where lotus flowers bloomed—blue, white, and red. It was truly beautiful. Flowers were planted all around as well. Sui Yi climbed to the third-floor balcony, where she could see the sea view at sunset. The scenery was stunning.
Sui Yi had only been strolling around for a short while when she went downstairs and found Lin Xiao in the kitchen.
"The facilities here are very complete. Do you come here to stay often?"
"Hmm! So, how is it? Do you like it here?"
"I love it. The decor here is both retro and grand. I really like it," Suiyi said with a smile.
"By the way, could you help me put on an apron?" Lin Xiao asked.
"Oh! Okay." Sui Yi picked up a fishnet and put it on Lin Xiao. Since Lin Xiao was holding a fish that had just been scaled, Sui Yi didn't walk up to her but did it from behind. However, due to the height difference between the two, it looked like she was wrapping her arms around Lin Xiao.
Sui Yi didn't seem to be thinking anything, but Lin Xiao's eyes were full of smiles.
"All done!" After finishing, Sui Yi stood at the kitchen doorway, watching Lin Xiao work methodically. Just then, Lin Xiao's phone rang.
"Peach, can you answer this for me? It's inconvenient."
"Oh!" Suiyi found her phone, glanced at it, and saw that it showed her second uncle's name.
"It was your second uncle who called."
"Hold my phone for me, I'll speak." Lin Xiao frowned. His second uncle usually wouldn't call him unless it was something important.
Sui Yi walked over, pressed the answer button, and put the phone to Lin Xiao's ear.
"Qin Xiao, hurry back to Rende Hospital, the old man is dying." A frantic voice could be heard from the other end.
"Clang!" The knife and fish in Lin Xiao's hand fell to the ground. Sui Yi saw panic flash across his face. "Wash your hands quickly and get there right away."
Lin Xiao looked at her apologetically, washed his hands, and then drove towards the hospital with Sui Yi in his hand.
"Don't panic, go and check the situation first. Maybe things aren't as bad as you think," Suiyi comforted him.
"Do you know? Ever since I was eight years old and watched my parents fall before my eyes, I've felt that the world is dark. I studied hard to learn more so that one day I could take revenge on my enemies. I've always lived in hatred. If it weren't for Grandpa, I probably would have become a completely different person. Peach, I really can't imagine what I would do if Grandpa were gone." Lin Xiao's voice was very suppressed.
It was indeed him; Lin Xiao was Qin Xiao. "We're at the hospital," Sui Yi said. Lin Xiao quickly stopped the car, ignoring Sui Yi, and ran towards the hospital, leaving Sui Yi speechless.
"Damn it!" Sui Yi cursed under her breath and headed towards the hospital. When she reached the front desk, she asked, "Excuse me, nurse, which room is Old Master Qin in?"
"VIP ward 301".
"Thank you!" When Sui Yi went over, she saw Bai Luo there too, but at the door. She didn't see Qin Xiao; he was probably inside the ward.
"Bai Luo!" Sui Yi called out.
"Peach, you're here? Quickly, go see the old man, hurry!" Bai Luo grabbed Sui Yi and rushed into the ward. He slammed the door open with a bang.
Those inside heard the noise and looked towards the door.
"Bai Luo, what's wrong with you?" Uncle Qin looked at him fiercely.
"Second Uncle, keep your voice down, don't disturb Grandpa." Qin Xiao reminded his second uncle when he saw Sui Yi.
Uncle Qin glared at Bai Luo and the other man, then looked at the old man.
"Um, may I check on Old Master Qin's condition?" Sui Yi asked.
"no!"
"Can!"
Uncle Er and Lin Xiao spoke up together. Hearing Lin Xiao say it was okay, Sui Yi didn't go over. After carefully examining Old Master Qin's condition, she suddenly said to Lin Xiao.
"I have a way to cure the old man."
Upon hearing this, they all looked up at Suiyi.
"You must be joking! Even the hospital can't do anything about it," Uncle Qin said skeptically.
"Lin Xiao, I can give it a try." The two looked at each other, and Lin Xiao seemed to have made a decision, so he agreed.
"All of you, get out. I only need Dr. Bai to assist me," Sui Yi said bluntly.
