Male Lead: Seduce me quickly! Leng Yue: No, no, no, I can't do it!
Male Lead: I allow you to seduce me! Leng Yue: ... This generation's male lead is so hard to handle, I want to go ho...
Three days later, the club received a message from headquarters that a large-scale attack on humans had been discovered in the Rhine Valley. Headquarters dispatched their local Blood Hunters to investigate and find out what had happened.
Since it wasn't about capturing vampires, the club's blood hunters assigned the task to Sam and Qianchen. Sam was human and under their command, while Lengyue and Qianchen were newcomers and also had to learn how to go on missions.
There were five of them: Sam, Andrew, Lily, Leng Yue, and Qian Chen. Unfortunately, just as they stepped outside, snowflakes began to fall.
Sam, with his right eye blindfolded, looked at the large snowflakes falling from the sky and couldn't help but curse, "Shit!" He knew that going out in this weather would be very disadvantageous for them.
Andrew walked at the front with his backpack, not turning around even when he heard Sam complaining. The bad weather dampened everyone's spirits.
Lily, dressed in a large cloak and leather boots, completely covered up, walked behind Sam step by step. Leng Yue and Qian Chen brought up the rear, having also changed into cloaks to conform to local customs.
The snow fell heavier and heavier, and gradually the ground was covered with snow. Wearing boots, the snow crunched as you walked on it.
The group ahead hurried on their way, for they needed to find shelter and warmth before nightfall. Otherwise, they would freeze to death in the icy wilderness before they could even fight the vampires.
However, no matter how fast they went, they were still just ordinary people. But Leng Yue and Qian Chen followed behind with ease and didn't feel tired at all.
None of them spoke. Darkness fell quickly, and Andrew quickened his pace. The only sounds in the forest were the crunch of their footsteps on the snow and the whistling wind.
“We need to hurry, the temporary shelter is just ahead,” Andrew called out to the others as he walked ahead.
White mist billowed from his mouth, quickly dispersed by the wind. The sky darkened, but the wind grew stronger. The group trudged through the snow, walking for about an hour before finally spotting a small wooden cabin—the temporary shelter Andrew had mentioned.
"Thank God we've finally arrived safely." Andrew breathed a sigh of relief when he saw the cabin. The group pushed open the door and entered, coughing incessantly from the dust inside.
"Andrew, hurry up and start a fire! This awful weather is unbearable without fire!" Sam stamped the snow off his feet and breathed on his hands to warm them. After breathing on them, he couldn't help but rub his hands together.
Andrew responded and quickly brought back a lot of branches from outside. However, because of the snow, the branches were very wet and difficult to light.
"Andrew, what's wrong with you? How come you can't even light a fire?" Sam exclaimed in exasperation. "Didn't you hear me? My stomach is growling! Hurry up and start a fire to cook!"
"Uncle Sam, could you please stop rushing me? I'm really anxious too!" Andrew looked at Sam helplessly, his face covered in soot.
Lily stood to one side, touching the damp wooden stick, but she didn't have any good ideas. She could only look at Sam and then at Andrew, and finally chose to stay quietly by Leng Yue's side.
Leng Yue glanced at Qian Chen, then walked to Andrew's side and said to him, "Andrew, let me do it!"
“How can we let a girl like you do such rough work?” Andrew said, unwilling to listen.
Seeing that he didn't leave, Leng Yue didn't say anything more. She simply formed a hand seal and chanted incantations. With a final shout of "Rise!", the fire truly ignited.
Lily was filled with admiration as she watched Leng Yue light the fire with such ease. Andrew, on the other hand, nearly burned his eyebrows and took two or three seconds to recover. He looked at Leng Yue rudely, "Leng, was that really you just now?"
Leng Yue nodded. "Otherwise what?"
Andrew added firewood listlessly and found that the previously damp and unburnt firewood could now burn, and the flames were quite large.
"What is this? Is it Eastern witchcraft?" Andrew looked at Leng Yue, his eyes beginning to light up.
Leng Yue frowned and shook her head slightly. "This is not witchcraft, it is Taoist magic. What you just saw was just a very simple spell in the fire control technique."
"Can you teach me?" Andrew's eyes gleamed with fervor. "Teacher? Leng, from now on you'll be my teacher!"
As Andrew was about to rush up and hug Leng Yue, Qian Chen dodged and pulled Leng Yue into his arms, spinning her around before gently dodging Andrew's bear hug.
Lily, who was closest to Qianchen, only sensed a fleeting shadow and a gust of wind, while Andrew didn't even have time to react before realizing that the person he was about to hug was gone. He stumbled upon empty air and stared blankly at Leng Yue and Qianchen.
From beginning to end, only Sam kept an eye on Qian Chen. Qian Chen was two or three meters away from Leng Yue, while Andrew and Leng Yue were only an arm's length apart. It was obvious who was closer and who was farther away; under normal circumstances, even if Qian Chen ran, he couldn't possibly be faster than Andrew. However, the result was that Andrew missed!
Sam only caught a glimpse of Qian Chen's afterimage, but he felt that Qian Chen's speed was comparable to that of a vampire. Watching Andrew continue his pursuit of Qian Chen, Sam seemed lost in thought.
But when they had calmed down enough, they called out to Andrew to cook. "Andrew, when are we going to eat? I'm starving!"
When Sam urged him on, Andrew reluctantly returned to the fire, took out a pot, ran to the snow to collect snow, and came back to cook.
Andrew cooked very quickly, basically just throwing all sorts of random ingredients into the pot, resulting in a chaotic stew. It was so dark and unrecognizable that you couldn't tell what the ingredients actually looked like; in short, it didn't look very appetizing.
Leng Yue and Qian Chen didn't actually need to eat anymore, but in order not to stand out from the crowd, they had been eating since they arrived here, though not much.
However, Andrew seemed to have a different idea in mind, and he was unusually attentive to them. Of course, this attentiveness was mainly reflected in the fact that he served Leng Yue and Qian Chen a lot of terrible dishes.
"Qian, Leng, eat more. There's more here if you're not full." Andrew said it with utmost sincerity, and Leng Yue and Qian Chen couldn't bring themselves to refuse.
However, holding their bowls and looking at the dark, sticky mess inside, they simply didn't have the courage to swallow it. But when they looked up at the other three, they saw them slurping it down with gusto, seemingly without any discomfort. Anyone who didn't know better would have thought they were eating some kind of delicacy.
Finally, Leng Yue saw Qian Chen lower his head and drink as well. Although he frowned the whole time, he still maintained his good manners. Seeing this, Leng Yue also shut down his five senses and drank numbly. In one go, he poured it straight down his throat.
It wasn't until she finished drinking that Leng Yue regained her senses. But the lingering taste in her mouth was still unforgettable: the bitterness of burnt food, the saltiness of salt, the smoky smell of firewood, and other indescribable flavors.
After they finished eating, Andrew enthusiastically offered Leng Yue more rice, but Leng Yue immediately refused. No way! Eating such awful food again would be an instant death!
