In the morning, sunlight filtered through the ward window and shone onto the white sheets. The sound from the TV echoed in the room, but Shen Xinran's attention was not on the flickering images.

Shen Xinran looked up and saw Jiang Tong walking in with a bouquet of flowers that was bigger than her. "You're finally awake. This is for you."

Both of their apartments were installed with fingerprint locks. Jiang Tong pressed his fingerprint and the door opened.

However, the room was completely dark, with only the faint light from the television screen echoing in the air along with the sound.

Shen Xinran was alone, hugging a pillow, sitting quietly on the sofa, as if immersed in his own world.

Jiang Tong quickly turned on the light, letting the warm glow instantly fill the entire room. She complained to Shen Xinran, "It's already dark, why don't you turn on the light?"
