Chapter 129 The Female Professor's Tribulations (Part Six)

Shi Lan was furious after being upset by her mother's actions and didn't sleep well all night. As soon as it was light, she packed her things and went out.

As soon as he stepped out of the iron gate, he saw a car parked next to him. The car window slowly rolled down, and Cheng Hao tilted his head with a smile and looked over.

Shi Lan looked at him in surprise, "Why are you here?"

Cheng Hao leaned out of the car and opened the door, gesturing to her, "I knew you couldn't stay here. There are no cars here in the morning, and I was worried you'd have to walk back to the city, so I came to be your personal driver."

Shi Lan smiled and sat down in the passenger seat, turning her head to say, "Why do you make me so uneasy? The last time I received this treatment," Shi Lan paused, pretending to recall, "was it when you wanted to open a bookstore and my dad caught you and gave you a good scolding?" She glanced at Cheng Hao, "So, what do you want from me this time?"

Cheng Hao, who had been smiling, shrugged when he heard her words. He said unhappily, "Junior Sister, what are you saying? Do you think I'm the kind of person who only befriends people when I need them? Can't I come pick you up for no reason? Didn't I personally bring you back the day before yesterday?"

That's true.

Shi Lan nodded and thanked her senior brother.

Cheng Hao then grinned and smiled again.

Shi Lan tilted her head, glanced at him, and smiled.

To be fair, Cheng Hao is a really good person. When the original owner of this body had just broken up with Liu Jinxiang, she was in great pain. Her family felt guilty seeing her like this, and Shi's mother cried every day. The original owner was not good at expressing herself, so she could only keep her bitterness to herself. Over time, she almost developed depression. Fortunately, Cheng Hao acted as a mediator, comforting Shi's parents and reassuring the original owner. Later, he even helped her gain a foothold at school. This was also one of the reasons why Shi Lan sought his help immediately.

Cheng Hao drove the car out of the park and into traffic. It was still early, and there weren't many cars on the road. Cheng Hao was a skilled driver, which shortened the one-and-a-half-hour drive by almost half.

Back on campus, Cheng Hao dropped Shi Lan off at the apartment entrance and turned back to the bookstore.

Back home, Shi Lan tidied herself up briefly, then went to the mall and bought a bunch of bottles and jars.

In the evening, Shi Lan walked out of the apartment carrying a shoulder bag that women love these days. After turning a few corners, she found a secluded place to change into comfortable sneakers, jeans, and a t-shirt. She then tied up her long hair, secured it with a baseball cap, and took out a small mirror she had prepared beforehand, fussing over her appearance.

About half an hour later, a handsome young man walked out from around the corner. At first glance, he looked exactly like a popular young male celebrity. However, probably because it was a real person and not a photo edited, he was shorter in the photo than in the picture. But unless you compare them hand in hand, it is still difficult to tell them apart.

Crossing the road, Shi Lan lowered the brim of her hat to avoid the street cameras, crossed two streets, and arrived at the corner of Liu Jinxiang's office building.

Shi Lan walked leisurely along the way, and when she passed a balloon vendor, she even picked out a few with great interest.

Inside the building's parking lot, the cameras were diligently operating. Shi Lan, with her keen senses, could spot these things like a third eye instantly if she wanted to. Before long, the cameras in the parking lot were blocked by something brightly colored.

Shi Lan also stood behind the pillar next to the conspicuous red sports car, waiting quietly.

At 6:15, Liu Jinxiang strolled out of the express elevator and walked this way.

Shi Lan loosely clenched her hands and slowly rotated them, while simultaneously placing one foot lightly on the ground and gently moving her ankle.

Liu Jinxiang hummed an off-key tune as he approached the car, rummaging in his pocket as if looking for his car keys.

Shi Lan gave a cold snort, silently walked out from behind the pillar, and patted him on the shoulder.

Liu Jinxiang turned his head, saw that handsome face, and was stunned for a moment, "Who are you?"

Shi Lan grinned, revealing her teeth, and reached out to stab him in the eyes.

Liu Jinxiang cried out in pain, covered his eyes, and tears streamed down his face.

Shi Lan pulled a small dagger from her sleeve and held it against his waist: "Robbery."

Liu Jinxiang's face immediately changed, his hands trembled like chicken claws, and his body convulsed.

"Don't...don't be impulsive, whatever you want, I...I'll give it to you," he said, his hands trembling as he pulled his wallet from his pocket and handed it forward with shaky steps.

Shi Lan slapped the wallet away and patted his face. "You can drive such a nice car, and you only give me this little bit? Are you trying to fetch a beggar?"

"No, no," Liu Jinxiang stammered through his tears, his legs trembling and his body hunched over as if he were about to kneel before Shi Lan.

Shi Lan curled her lips, raised her hand, and gave his fat face a sharp slap.

The violent collision of flesh caused a sharp pain, and Shi Lan grimaced.

It really hurts.

Shi Lan moved her palm, originally wanting to slap him a few more times, but she forgot who said it, that forces are reciprocal. Shi Lan agreed with this after experiencing it herself, so she decided to try a different approach.

Shi Lan took half a step back, turned to the side, twisted her waist, and delivered a flying kick.

Liu Jinxiang felt a sudden darkness before his eyes, seeing stars everywhere. His body collapsed uncontrollably to the ground, half of his body aching and numb. A tightness in his chest and a salty, metallic taste shot up from his throat. His face was numb and swollen, unable to move for a moment. After spitting out blood, the rest flowed from the corner of his mouth, down his neck, and onto his clothes.

Liu Jinxiang grunted sullenly, his cheeks visibly swollen like a steamed bun.

Shi Lan stepped forward, ready to deliver two more blows.

Liu Jinxiang was so frightened that his face turned ashen. He quickly knelt down on the ground and begged, "Brother, I beg you, spare me." He pushed his wallet, which had fallen to the ground, and said indistinctly, "If you think it's too little, I'll give you a card or a check. Just name your price, and I won't argue. I just beg you to spare my life."
