The number of corpses was increasing, the potion was about to evaporate, and the number of monsters attacking them was not decreasing.

"Good news, the potion works; bad news, there are too many monsters, and we don't have enough potions." Ye Jiu then cast another high-level fire spell.

Flames erupted instantly, engulfing all the strange beasts in their flames. The flames then spread to the surrounding area, and one after another, the beasts vanished in the fire, along with the surrounding trees.

The flames only began to subside after all the surrounding beasts and corpses had been burned to ashes.

This scene finally instilled fear in the group of strange beasts whose brains were no bigger than almonds, and the remaining beasts retreated and ran away without looking back.

Asmodius, who witnessed this scene, felt deeply deceived; he had overestimated these inferior beings.

He had no choice but to take matters into his own hands.

The land still smelled burnt. Asmodius walked step by step through the ashes to Ye Jiu.

Ye Jiu gripped her wand tightly, and patted Lorian with her free hand to comfort him.

Although the visitors were hostile, Ye Jiu believed he still had the ability to fight them.

"I want..." Under Ye Jiu's questioning gaze, Asmodius pointed at Lorian, "He, as long as you hand him over, I will let you go."

Ye Jiu curled the corners of her lips. "Really? Answer a few questions for me first." After saying that, she gave Luo Rui'an a look, and he secretly took out the recording stone.

Asmodius hadn't expected things to be so simple. With a hint of disdain, he said, "Ask away, and then hand the person over to me."

Are you a demon?

Asmodius opened his arms, looked up at the sky at a 45-degree angle, closed his eyes, and replied, "Yes, I am the greatest king, a subordinate of Morsos. My lord will lead the continent of Melia to glory."

Ye Jiu: ...

Damn, that's so cringeworthy.

"Morthos?"

Asmodius's eyes widened upon hearing Ye Jiu's answer, his gaze filled with three parts anger and seven parts disbelief. "You don't know my lord?! There's actually someone on this continent who doesn't know my lord!"

"Is he that powerful?" Ye Jiu asked back. She seemed to have heard the name before, but couldn't remember it now. If she couldn't remember, she assumed he was just useless cannon fodder.

Asmodius opened his mouth as if to introduce Ye Jiu, but then broke out in a cold sweat, saying, "It's alright, you'll know later. Our lord will unify the continent of Meria."

Ye Jiu glanced at Luo Rui'an and shrugged.

Luo Rui'an and Ye Jiu looked at each other, then Luo Rui'an covered his mouth to hide the corners of his mouth that were turned up, and cleared his throat to signal to Ye Jiu that he was looking over.

Ye Jiu composed herself, making sure her expression remained calm, and continued, "What do you want him for?"

Asmodius gave a sneer, "Of course, it's to make him sacrifice himself for the resurrection of our lord."

Ye Jiu's expression froze. "Sacrifice?"

She remembered the summoning circle. Could the summoning circle be related to the demon in front of her?

Asmodeus nodded in satisfaction, "The sacrifice, becoming a stepping stone on our Lord's path to success, we will thank him for his sacrifice."

Ye Jiu hesitated whether to ask about the summoning array directly, in case she alerted the enemy and made him furious.

Asmodius didn't wait for Ye Jiu to ask any more questions, so he spoke again, "My lord is only one elf away from being resurrected. My lord will return to the mortal world soon."

“But he’s mixed race…” Ye Jiu said weakly, “It seems you’ve arrested the wrong person.”

Asmodius scoffed, "Don't ask questions you shouldn't ask. Just hand him over to me, and I'll let you go."

He was clearly getting impatient. Ye Jiu carefully asked, "Then I'll ask one last question: was the magic shielding in the forest your doing?"

"What the hell? You actually used such words to describe me? This is a magic circle!" Asmodius looked disgusted, feeling that Ye Jiu was a country bumpkin who had never seen anything before.

Okay, he did it.

"One last question, did you also destroy the teleportation array at Buvis Magic Academy?"

"You just said it was the last one, but I'm in a good mood, so I'll tell you, no, their teleportation array is too low-end, not worth my time."

Ye Jiu nodded. "Okay, then it's possible that there's a traitor within Buvis, or that this devil has other accomplices."

Ye Jiu leaned towards the former, since if it were the latter, this accomplice would definitely be by his side and would most likely jump out together, but it wasn't certain, and further investigation was needed.

However, Asmodeus clearly had no patience to continue answering.

"Okay, I've finished asking."

"Alright, give me the person. I'll remember your contribution."

Ye Jiu and Lorian exchanged a glance. With their tacit understanding, no further words were needed. Ye Jiu grabbed Lorian's wrist, and he struggled symbolically, pretending to be betrayed, before following Ye Jiu to Asmodis.

Asmodeus was about to drag Lorian away, Ye Jiu suddenly jumped up and punched him in the face.

A left hook stunned him. Asmodius fell to the ground and before he could react, his scythe was snatched away by Lorian. Just as he was about to stand up, Ye Jiu delivered a flying kick that sent him crashing to the ground again.

Ye Jiu's five years of martial arts training finally came in handy today. In her opinion, hand-to-hand combat was much more satisfying; magic always gave her the feeling of winning too easily.

They pinned Asmodeus to the ground and pounded him until he couldn't even utter a complete spell and was quickly knocked unconscious.

"Huh? She's already dizzy?" Ye Jiu stood up. She hadn't had enough yet; such a sandbag was a rare sight.

Lorian cast a binding spell on him, tying him up and hanging him from a tree.

"What do we do next?" Luo Rui'an asked Ye Jiu for her opinion.
