Part 1v1, part 1vN.
After Ye Jiu died, she was inexplicably chosen by a system. However, this system seemed to have a poor signal, giving her only four words, 'Save the Villain,' befo...
Unexpectedly, Huaijin had a great talent for mecha design. After Ye Jiu taught him, he was able to quickly apply what he learned to other situations. Soon, Ye Jiu's teaching level could no longer satisfy him, so he began to study on his own and completed the courses that took her four years of university in two years.
He started designing mechs at the age of 16. His first mech design was amazing. The proportions were correct and it was feasible. It was very rare for him to draw such a complex design on his first try!
Ye Jiu considered finding a skilled mecha pilot to teach him, but he was unwilling to deal with strangers, and finding one would require going through Huai You. If Huai You found out about Huai Jin's talent, it wouldn't be a good thing...
So the matter had to be dropped, and Huaijin went on to study and research on his own.
Since Huaijin turned 16, Huaiyou has almost never come to the villa. The father and son can only meet when Huaijin tests the mecha.
The mecha utilizes space compression technology, allowing a massive machine weighing tens of tons to be contained within a 200-gram, palm-sized pendant. The mechas that Huai Jin needs to test are brought by Huai You and placed in the villa's backyard. After Huai Jin completes the test using his mental power, he retrieves the mecha and leaves.
S-class mechs aren't easy to make either; there have been six attempts in six years... but each mech test has caused harm to Huai Jin and brought huge economic benefits to Huai You.
Pushing open the villa's main gate, Ye Jiu went upstairs to the study and gently knocked on the door.
"Come in." A clear male voice rang out.
Ye Jiu tiptoed into the room and saw Huai Jin sitting by the window reading a book, wearing a pair of gold-rimmed glasses.
Huaijin sat in his wheelchair, a book resting on his lap, and took notes from time to time with a pen in his other hand.
Well, actually, given the Huai family's financial resources, they could get him out of his wheelchair with an exoskeleton or even have his limb amputated and replaced with a prosthetic. He could not only stand up but also walk normally. Prosthetics are quite advanced in interstellar space.
It is common to see people replacing their healthy limbs with mechanical prostheses.
Flesh and blood are weak and feeble, while machinery soars to new heights.
However, Huaijin disliked those metal objects, so he has been in a wheelchair for many years. His legs still have no feeling and often spasm, which should not be so frequent after so many years.
Ye Jiu guessed that it might be because his lower limbs were affected by mental confusion rather than nerve damage, which was why it happened so frequently.
However, she remembered that the spasms were extremely painful. After she sorted out her mental energy, she wondered if he could make it through when his legs regained feeling.
Huaijin put down her book and stretched her neck. She turned her head and saw Ye Jiu. Her eyes lit up, and she immediately pushed her wheelchair to her side.
"When did my sister get back?"
Ye Jiu reached out and rubbed his ears. "Your ears are all red. Didn't you say you'd take them off if it hurt?"
Huai Jin tilted his head and rested his head on her hand. This physical contact made him want to sigh. He suppressed his impulse, closed his eyes and felt the touch, and said, "Sister will be back soon. I don't want to miss your voice."
In the days when Ye Jiu was away, longing was like a swamp, slowly swallowing up his reason. But now that he saw her and touched her, his reason returned instantly.
Ye Jiu suddenly pinched his ear hard, "Why don't you eat properly? Why are you staying up all night?"
Huai Jin opened her eyes and pouted, looking at her with her willow-leaf eyes full of water. "I'm not hungry, I don't want to sleep while reading."
Ye Jiu sneered, "Is that all?"
Huai Jin lowered her head and muttered softly, "I still want my sister to feel sorry for me... to come back soon."
At first, Ye Jiu was taken in by this. Whenever he stopped eating, Ye Jiu would immediately take leave and come back to cook different kinds of meals for him.
She furnished the villa with a kitchen, complete with all the necessary utensils, and vegetables and meat were readily available. Whenever she had time, she would cook for Huaijin.
Later, he went too far, refusing to drink the nutritional fluids five days a week, just waiting for her to take leave and come home. She realized that he was spoiling her by not drinking the nutritional fluids, so Ye Jiu stopped buying it.
Although Huaijin knew that Ye Jiu would not come back immediately, she still held onto a sliver of hope and would skip eating her food every few weeks, not giving up at all.
"Did you drink your nutritional supplement today?" Ye Jiu asked him.
Huaijin's nutrient solution is specially prepared, with added nutrients to prevent muscle atrophy on the basis of balanced nutrition. It doesn't taste very good, but it is good for his body, which is why his lower limb muscles have not atrophied much over the years.
Huai Jin grinned foolishly, "I drank it! I drank it on time today!" He spoke clearly and distinctly, obviously wanting Ye Jiu's praise.
Ye Jiu ruffled his hair, fulfilling his little wish, "Mmm, Xiao Jin is so great."
“However…” Ye Jiu changed the subject, “Why not go for rehabilitation?”
Only Ye Jiu in the entire villa would ask him this question; the other robots would stop pressuring him once they noticed his resistance.
Huaijin looked up and met her gaze. "Does Sister really think I need this?"
"Of course." Ye Jiu replied without hesitation. She squatted down to look him in the eye and reached out to pinch his cheek. "Your leg will get better."
Huaijin gave a wry smile, "Only my sister would believe that so firmly."
How will you know it won't work if you don't try?
Huaijin grabbed her hand and placed it on his leg. "Sister, it has no feeling at all and often spasms. It's out of my control. When I push the wheelchair, it moves around wildly. I need to constantly pay attention to it and make it come together so that I won't feel so embarrassed."
He looked at her intently. "Moreover, I have mental confusion. Ordinary lower limb paralysis might be treatable, but mental confusion is incurable."
He lifted the thin blanket covering his legs, revealing that his legs were indeed spread apart. "Look, just like this."
He lifted one leg with his hand and then brought both legs together.
