Yun Qing was born with unparalleled beauty. She has always been adored by others, never the one to highlight them. Who knew that one day, someone would tell her she was merely a willful cannon fodd...
The next morning, when Tian Yang and the others opened their eyes, they saw a frightening scene.
Their usually most presentable class monitor sat motionless on the ground, his hair disheveled and beard unkempt. His dejection was palpable, and the dark circles under his eyes showed that he hadn't slept all night.
"Ah Jun, what's wrong with you? You seem completely distracted." Tian Yang jumped off the table and walked to his side.
Hearing the question, Jiang Jun came back to his senses.
At this moment, he desperately wanted to find someone to confide in about his troubles and anxieties.
"I'm fine, but there are some things I'm struggling with, and I'd like to ask for your opinions."
"What's wrong?" Zuo Rong and Xu Shao got up and looked at him curiously.
“Take a look at this book.”
After thinking about it all night, I realized there's nothing left to hide.
Jiang Jun turned directly to the page in the book that described the Painted Skin Demon.
"What is this?" The three of them came closer to take a look.
The two short lines of text turned their relaxed expressions serious; clearly, they had thought of what Jiang Jun had thought of as well.
"This...this can't be real, right? This is..."
Tian Yang opened his mouth to refute, but stopped before he could finish speaking. They had already come to this strange world, so what was impossible?
Jiang Jun flipped to the front again and pointed to the words "Dream Demon" on the page.
"Look, there's this too."
"If this is true, then everything we've experienced these past few days was just a dream?"
"This is too absurd!" Xu Shao exclaimed.
"Today is the last day. We'll find out the truth eventually. Let's go do our morning exercises."
"Morning exercises? Do we have to have them today?"
"The rules don't say you can't play, so you'll naturally have to play until the last day."
Zuo Rong wailed, "Why are our lives so miserable! We were so frightened last night, and now we have to get up early to do morning exercises. This is just too cruel and inhumane!"
Nevertheless, he dragged his heavy steps and followed the main group.
The playground was unusually quiet at seven o'clock, with only a few students scattered around, roughly estimated to be less than ten.
The thought that in just seven days, they were the only survivors left on the huge campus weighed heavily on the hearts of the four people in dormitory 110.
Seeing that the atmosphere had suddenly become somber, Tian Yang tried to cheer everyone up.
"Alright, maybe this really is a dream. Perhaps when we get out, we'll find that all the students are fine."
After mechanically completing their morning exercises, they returned to their dormitory.
Today was another day without classes. When they arrived at the third dormitory building for boys, the scene before them took them by surprise: the entire building was completely intact.
Compared to the Three Mansions, the One Mansion and Two Mansions next to it have become ruins.
Filled with curiosity, they entered the dormitory building. On the side of the lobby on the first floor was the luxurious dormitory manager's office. Through the window, they saw Yun Qing, who was reclining on a deck chair eating breakfast.
Upon seeing them, she raised her eyelids slightly as a greeting.
Seeing her puffed-out lips, the heaviness in their hearts was strangely relieved.
Xu Shao couldn't help but walk over and knock on the door.
"What?" Yun Qing, wearing pajamas, opened the door from the inside.
"Sister, could you give us some more food? Please, have pity on us, we're so pitiful."
His innocent dog eyes reminded Yun Qing of a Samoyed she once owned, and her heart softened.
"Alright, come in and get it yourself. This is a one-time offer, don't let it happen again."
"Thank you, sister." Xu Shao smiled happily and squeezed into the room.
Thinking he could leave in the afternoon, he didn't take much, only a few packets of sliced bread and instant noodles.
Much of the campus infrastructure has been damaged, and it's unclear whether the water supply system is still intact, so it's most practical to bring some ready-to-eat snacks.
The other three were initially touched by his willingness to swallow his pride; he truly was their good brother, remembering them even when he had food to eat.
Even if Yun Qing refuses, they will keep this in mind.
However, to their surprise, Xu Shao's coquettishness actually worked.
This is unacceptable! How could Yun Qing be so unprincipled?
A little bit of coquetry is enough to win her over. Is this still the big boss in their eyes?
With mixed feelings, they felt inexplicably displeased with Xu Shao.
You're so happy over a little food? Have you forgotten what you read in the book this morning? You're being sold out and you're still helping the seller count the money.
After a bland breakfast, the group sat down together to discuss their next steps.
Tian Yang carefully read through the rules again and had an idea.
"Look at Article 10: The principal's office is absolutely safe. Students who encounter danger can seek help from the principal. We haven't checked it yet. Why don't we go to the principal's office later and see if we can find any clues?"
“Okay, I also think we should be able to find something there,” Jiang Jun said, expressing his support.
Xu Shao and Zuo Rong naturally had no objections.
Afterwards, the group went to bed to rest.
At 10:00 a.m., the alarm clock that had been set in advance went off, and Jiang Jun woke everyone up one by one.
"Get up, we should go to the principal's office."
After packing their things, they went to the principal's office together.
However, to everyone's surprise, there was nothing inside.
Just as they were feeling disheartened and were about to turn back, an uninvited guest pushed open the office door.
"Zhao An?"
