Bai Yan is bound to a system and must unceasingly tread the path of courting death by opposing the protagonists, becoming a stepping stone in their lives, destined for a tragic end in every life.
Huo Jin took Bai Yan to the mountain to see the flowers covering the hillsides, and spent the whole morning picking the most vibrant and beautiful ones to make a flower wreath for her.
After the two had their fill of fun, it was almost night, so they went to the night market to stroll around, eat candied hawthorns, and try roasted chicken sold on the street.
When she got food on her lips, he gently wiped the stains away.
"How is it? Is it delicious?" Huo Jin looked at her tenderly.
Bai Yan smiled at him and said, "Of course it's delicious! Would you like to try some?"
Huo Jin nodded, and she held out the candied hawthorn in her hand. The sugar coating covered the sour candy ball. Huo Jin didn't like this kind of food for children before, but now he thinks it tastes delicious no matter how he eats it.
Bai Yan asked him with a smile, "What does candied hawthorn taste like, Ninth Uncle?"
“It’s sweet,” Huo Jin said.
"Would you like one that's a little sweeter?"
Huo Jin looked at her suspiciously, and Bai Yan reached out her hand, "Ninth Uncle is too tall, lower your head, I'll find you a sweet one."
Huo Jin had just lowered his head when she reached out and hooked her arm around his neck, then stood on tiptoe and kissed him.
Huo Jin was slightly stunned, his mind hadn't even reacted yet, but his hands had already followed his heart and tightened around the slender waist of the little person in his arms.
The wind was strong by the lake at night, but Huo Jin's cloak was also very large, enough to cover her entire body.
After the passionate and tender kiss ended, the fair face of the person in his arms flushed, and Huo Jin couldn't help but touch her fair face with his fingers.
"Is it sweet?" Bai Yan looked up, her eyes smiling like a crescent moon: "If you say it's sweet, I'll give you another one."
"Sweet," Huo Jin replied without hesitation.
"Then close your eyes," Bai Yan said.
Huo Jin closed his eyes, and a moment later a candy ball was put into his mouth. He opened his eyes and silently took a bite.
Bai Yan looked at him mischievously: "Ninth Uncle, is the candy ball delicious? Is this one sweet or sour?"
"Why isn't Uncle Jiu saying anything?" Bai Yan tilted her head. "Is this one tastier or the one from before?"
Huo Jin finished the candy ball and continued walking forward, pulling the mischievous little man along with him.
As evening fell, the snow fell heavier and heavier, and it was much colder near the river than on ordinary streets, so Huo Jin took her to a painted boat to listen to music.
It had snowed all day, but the river hadn't frozen over. However, there weren't many pleasure boats left moored. This particular pleasure boat was anchored in the middle of the river, with two people sitting at the stern. Charcoal was burning under the wooden planks at the bottom, so they didn't feel cold at all.
Although the semi-transparent screens around the area blocked out some of the cold wind, they could not block out the beautiful river and snow views.
Suddenly, fireworks rose into the sky and exploded, blending with the snowy landscape. Bai Yan's eyes widened in surprise, but then, seemingly out of nowhere, many beautiful lanterns floated in and surrounded the painted boat in the night.
It is absolutely breathtaking.
Bai Yan reached out and picked up a wet lantern. On it, someone had written in strong, vigorous characters: "May Xiao Yan be like this every year."
Bai Yan looked at him with a mixture of surprise and delight: "You arranged this?"
When did he develop such a romantic streak? How could he come up with something like this on a date?
Huo Jin looked at her tenderly and said, "What others have, Xiao Yan should have too. What you haven't seen before, you should see one by one in the future."
Bai Yan's heart melted instantly. She looked at Huo Jin, her eyes sparkling: "Let's go see it together."
She laughed and nestled into his arms, then looked up at him, defiantly calling out his name: "Huo Jin, do you want to stay with me forever?
The light behind the screen wasn't very bright, but it made her face look as if it were bathed in light.
Huo Jin looked down at the person in his arms... She smiled and looked up at him, her beautiful eyes striking him with a powerful impact.
His first thought was to nod in agreement and be with her forever; it was his dream.
Huo Jin was about to reach out and stroke her face when a sudden, pitiful cry shattered his beautiful dream, and even she seemed to be stained with blood.
"Huo Jin!"
Huo Jin tried hard to suppress the shrill sound in his mind, but the more he suppressed it, the more intense the conflict between the two forces became. His handsome face was covered in sweat, and his expression was somewhat ferocious due to the pain.
The incessant shrieking instilled in one a desire to destroy everything.
"What's wrong, Huo Jin?" A voice roused him from his shaky sanity.
Huo Jin opened his eyes, and a worried face was reflected in his bloodshot pupils.
Bai Yan's brows and eyes were full of worry. She approached Huo Jin and was about to stroke his face.
"Don't come near me." He suddenly took several steps back.
He quickly turned around, not wanting her to see his disheveled state: "I...I'm fine."
He then whispered, "I'll have someone take you home." Only then did he stagger to his feet and walk behind the screen.
Bai Yan wanted to follow, but at that moment Cai Zhu came up behind her and took her arm, saying, "Second Miss, let me take you back to your residence."
Bai Yan looked out of the boat and saw that he had already gone ashore, leaped onto a fine horse, and galloped forward with his entourage. Bai Yan's brows furrowed more and more.
She recalled the little details of their time together, and a heavy weight lifted from her heart.
"good."
Let's go back first; maybe we can learn something from my older sister.
Bai Yan arrived home quickly. Bai Ruifeng was still awake. She had just found a martial arts master and had just learned some basic martial arts techniques. She was currently immersed in the joy of practicing horse stance.
