Chapter 6 An Xin Arrives

I rushed to the music store, and sure enough, a police car was parked at the entrance, and two policemen were checking the discs on the shelf.

Tang Ping glanced at it and felt it looked very familiar. Wasn't this the duo An Xin and Li Xiang from Crazy Rush?

"Are you the boss?" An Xin looked up at Tang Ping and asked.

"Yes, I'm the owner. Officer, what's going on? Why are you shutting down my video store?"

Tang Ping asked.

All the DVDs he bought were legitimate movies; he didn't want any that were even remotely suggestive. At the time, Yang Guozhi recommended many erotic films to him, such as Fatal Temptation and Ripe Peach, but Tang Ping didn't want them.

Because he understood very well that the real money in opening a video store didn't come from those borderline films, and that if they were investigated, the problems would be very serious.

“We received a report that your video store was selling pornographic DVDs. Here, take a look for yourself, this is what we just found during our search.”

An Xin waved the two discs in her hand.

These two discs are definitely obscene materials; the images on them are utterly offensive.

Tang Ping was furious and said, "Officer, this is definitely someone deliberately framing me. How could I possibly sell these kinds of discs? Besides, I have purchase invoices that prove I absolutely did not buy these discs. This is clearly someone deliberately setting me up."

As he spoke, Tang Ping took out his purchase order from the drawer.

But Li Xiang just took it and glanced at it, saying, "Whether it's a frame-up or not, we'll investigate it thoroughly. You don't need to say anything more, just come with us."

An Xin was more conciliatory, saying, "The purchase order doesn't completely prove that you didn't sell these discs. Think again, do you have any other evidence?"

He also realized that the two discs didn't seem to belong to Tang Pingjin.

Besides, who would openly display these kinds of discs in a store? And given that someone deliberately reported it to the police, there are many suspicious points involved.

An Xin's reminder made Tang Ping suddenly realize something, and he said, "Yes, officer, I have surveillance cameras in my shop. As long as we check, we can definitely find out who deliberately let it in."

"monitor?"

An Xin was somewhat surprised and said, "You have such a small music and video store, and you even have surveillance cameras installed?"

"The discs were a gift from the shop owner; I never expected them to come in handy."

Tang Ping smiled and quickly turned on the monitoring system.

This is a second-generation surveillance system called a DVR, which uses a digital hard disk recorder as a simulator. The picture is very clear. Simply put, it doesn't require human supervision; it records automatically.

Tang Ping didn't know how to use it, but An Xin and Li Xiang were from the public security system and were very familiar with it. After checking for a while, they quickly found the person who put the disc in.

The footage was clear; it showed a young man with blond hair who came in acting suspiciously. While Li Qiang and Li Hui were busy, he placed two pornographic DVDs on the shelf.

It's normal not to notice it immediately because they're mixed together.

“Officer An, can I prove my innocence now? The person who called the police should be this person. But I suspect he's just a low-level thug, and someone is behind him,” Tang Ping said.

Li Xiang said with a righteous expression, "It's best if you're innocent, but don't be so smug. You should be more disciplined when you run a video store. You absolutely cannot touch obscene materials, or we'll come back next time."

"Understood, Officer Li. You are welcome to supervise me anytime!" Tang Ping nodded.

Li Xiang wanted to say something, but An Xin patted him on the shoulder and urged him to leave.

With just two discs, they couldn't very well make a big deal out of it and arrest someone. Besides, Tang Ping had already proven that the discs weren't being sold by his music store and that he had indeed been framed.

As for that petty thug, An Xin couldn't arrest him either; it was such a trivial matter that it wasn't worth the Criminal Investigation Division's involvement.

After An Xin and Li Xiang left, Tang Ping's face turned ashen as he stared at the blond-haired thug on the monitor and asked, "Do you know this guy?"

"I don't know him. But don't worry, Brother Ping, give me a day, and I'll definitely find out who he is!"

Li Qiang gritted his teeth and said.

The video store was almost shut down after someone stuffed pornographic DVDs into it, and Tang Ping almost got taken away and detained. The two brothers also bear a lot of responsibility for this incident.

Therefore, Li Qiang was also holding back a lot of anger.

Tang Ping nodded and instructed, "Okay, find out and let me know. Also, investigate how many audio-visual stores there are on these streets around here, what the owners' names are, and what their backgrounds are. Find out everything for me."

"Don't worry, Ping-ge, leave it to me."

Tang Ping understood the saying, "Competitors are enemies."

But I never expected them to resort to such underhanded tactics. Catching that blond thug is a minor matter; figuring out who's behind him is the most important thing.

If we don't take care of the enemy, this record store will never have a moment's peace.

This time, it was fortunate that Tang Ping had a backup plan; without surveillance, he might have been taken away directly.

Before leaving get off work, Tang Ping added another rule: from now on, he would check the discs on the shelf every night to prevent anyone from deliberately framing him.

The record store had just started making money and hadn't yet recouped its costs, so it couldn't afford to stop operating at this point.

The next morning, Tang Ping delivered the turtle to the Jinghai Hotel as usual, and then went back to his shop to keep watch.

Today he granted Li Qiang a day off, Li Hui was in charge of registering customers who rented DVDs, and Tang Ping himself was in charge of keeping an eye on the store to prevent yesterday's incident from happening again.

Fortunately, nothing happened throughout the day.

That evening, just before he was about to leave work, a young man rushed in and said to Tang Ping, "Brother Ping, something's happened! A-Qiang got into a fight and told me to call for help right away. But, but I don't know anyone involved in organized crime."

Tang Ping was startled and quickly said, "What? Where? Take me there right now!"

"At the bridge's landfill!"

The young man's name was Jiang Jun. He usually hung out with the brothers Li Qiang and Li Hui. On the way, he gave them a brief account of the situation.

It turns out that Li Qiang had spent the whole day looking for that blond-haired thug in the surveillance footage. He finally found him, but he didn't expect the guy to be such a tough character.

Li Qiang brought two of his underlings, but they couldn't defeat the enemy, so he asked Jiang Jun to come and get reinforcements.

Tang Ping never expected things to develop this way. By the time he arrived, the fight was already over.

Li Qiang and his two henchmen sat on the ground, their heads bleeding profusely. The blond thug opposite them wasn't in much better shape either, with wounds all over his head and arms.

The blond-haired thug was the one who put the pornographic DVDs in the surveillance footage.

Seeing Tang Ping arrive with his men, he didn't run away. Instead, he picked up a piece of triangular iron from the ground, grinning maliciously as he tried to get up.

"etc!"

Tang Ping raised his hand to stop him, then turned to Li Qiang and said, "I told you to find someone, not to do anything. What are you doing?"

“Brother Ping, I…” Li Qiang looked aggrieved.

Tang Ping ignored him, turned to the blond thug, and said, "Buddy, my brother brought some guys up here to find you, we lost, we admit it. But you tampered with my music store, that's a breach of code of honor, isn't it? I think we should just let this go. I'll pay your medical bills, okay?"
