The news of Jiang Fei transferring to another class sparked a wave of discussion on the first day of school.
Although the teachers and facilities are the same, everyone in the school knows that Jiang Fei's class is mostly made up of rich kids, giving them a significant head start over ordinary people.
Moreover, although the news of the marriage between Jiang Fei and Shen Fang's families has never been made public, people around them have heard rumors and gossip about it. Furthermore, Jiang Fei has followed behind Shen Fang and covered for him so many times, so even if they don't know about the marriage, they can see her feelings for Shen Fang.
Now, Jiang Fei is going to transfer to another class.
That's incredible.
However, no matter how unbelievable it was to those around her, on the first morning of school, Jiang Fei was still led to the door of the regular classroom by the grade director, facing everyone's gaze.
"Classmates, this is our new transfer student, Jiang Fei..."
The grade head was saying something on the podium.
The students below had already begun to stir.
"Jiang Fei? The second-generation class beauty?"
"Wasn't she supposed to be the Jiang family's only daughter? How did she end up here?"
"Hopefully it won't spoil our atmosphere..."
"She is really beautiful."
"..."
Although it is a regular class, the students are outstanding students recruited from all over the country at the school's own expense, in order to improve the quality of the school's academic performance.
Therefore, this school is the choice of many impoverished students, because as long as they study well, it means that all tuition fees will be covered by the school after enrollment.
This also resulted in the class having many high-achieving students with strong ambitions.
Of course, besides Ruan Tang, she also received tutoring from Song Yan during the summer before the entrance exam and barely made it into the school.
Jiang Fei stood in front of the podium and said with a smile, "Hello everyone, I am Jiang Fei. I will be able to get along and learn with you all in the future. I hope you will take good care of me."
As she spoke, she glanced around at the students in the class and immediately spotted Song Yan in the corner, still wearing a white shirt. He also saw her, but only gave her a cursory look before looking away, as if the two had never met.
There was no one around him.
Ruan Tang, who was sitting in front of Song Yan, felt a tightness in her heart when she noticed Jiang Fei's gaze.
"Alright, Jiang Fei, go find a seat and sit down..." the homeroom teacher said.
Jiang Fei bowed politely to the homeroom teacher, then turned and walked straight towards Song Yan in the corner.
Everyone looked at Jiang Fei with surprise or astonishment, and then at the boy in the corner.
That's a Song Dynasty inkstone!
Song Yan, who consistently ranks first in her class, never fails in any competition, and is exceptionally beautiful—a true beauty from a high-class background!
Ruan Tang lowered her head and bit her lower lip hard.
She and Song Yan had been classmates for nearly seven years, and she always knew that Song Yan didn't like others getting too close to him. Only she could sit around Song Yan, but now...
Song Yan smelled the pleasant fragrance around him, turned to look at Jiang Fei, and then lowered his eyes and said softly, "Sorry, I don't like having people around me."
The boy's voice was hoarse and magnetic, yet distant and unfamiliar.
Many people around heard this and secretly looked over.
The unattainable beauty did indeed refuse; I wonder how that rich young lady will react.
Ruan Tang breathed a sigh of relief. As the girl closest to Song Yan and not rejected by him, her cheeks flushed involuntarily.
Jiang Fei looked at Song Yan and blinked innocently: "Why?"
Song Yan lowered his head and said calmly, "Student Jiang can go to another seat."
Jiang Fei smiled, took two steps toward him, and leaned down slightly: "But what if I want to sit here, my boyfriend?"
The last three words were spoken slowly and deliberately, in a very soft voice.
The others couldn't hear clearly, but they all saw the aloof beauty stiffen, and Jiang Fei took the opportunity to sit down next to him.
Ruan Tang's face suddenly turned pale; she had heard it clearly.
Jiang Fei calls Song Yan "boyfriend," but when did they develop this relationship? Why did she never know?
With her thoughts in turmoil, Ruan Tang sat absentmindedly in her seat all day, unable to concentrate on her lessons, and even during lunchtime, her mind was filled with anxiety.
As evening fell and the class ended, Ruan Tang looked at the densely packed numbers on the book in front of her, finally clenched her fist, picked up the book and turned around: "Song Yan..." How do I solve this problem?
Before he could finish the last half of his sentence, he was interrupted by a sweet, clear voice.
"Song, here's your umbrella back," Jiang Fei said, handing Song Yan the umbrella she had prepared earlier. She smiled and said, "I was stuck in the restaurant a week ago when it rained. Thank you."
Ruan Tang's face turned even whiter.
A week ago, on the rainy day, was the same day that Dad collapsed and was hospitalized.
She thought Song Yan was working, but he was with Jiang Fei.
Song Yan accepted the umbrella from Jiang Fei with a blank expression. The sound of a chair scraping against the ground came from in front of him. Song Yan thought of something and quickly looked up.
Ruan Tang stood up with a pale face and ran out of the classroom with red eyes.
Song Yan frowned slightly, his hand on the table clenched lightly, and then he was about to get up.
“Song!” Jiang Fei suddenly grabbed his hand.
Song Yan frowned, a wave of repulsion rising in his heart. He turned to look at her and said, "Jiang, I know what you're thinking, but not everyone is as cunning as you."
After saying that, he was about to break free from her hand and leave, but he stopped when he saw the figure at the classroom door, and the force he was using to break free from Jiang Fei disappeared.
Standing in front of Ruan Tang at the doorway, with a gloomy expression, was Shen Fang.
...
Ever since Jiang Fei left on her birthday, Shen Fang has felt that something was wrong with her.
The image of her making cakes for him, preparing meals for him, and even... the way she kissed him before leaving—these images kept replaying in his mind, even in his dreams.
He kept dreaming that she was kissing his lips on tiptoe, and even in his dreams, the tingling sensation on his lips felt very real.
But after the kiss, she tilted her head and smiled at him, saying, "Goodbye, Shen Fang." Then she plunged into the white mist and disappeared without a trace.
There are three days left before school starts after my birthday.
She didn't come to see him again for those three days.
Even after school started, I didn't contact him again.
Shen Fang thought to himself that he was just worried that she hadn't given him a definite answer regarding their promise.
Besides, we'll see each other after school starts, and all my unusual behavior will surely disappear then.
He just didn't expect that Jiang Fei wouldn't show up on the first day of school.
He vaguely heard the name "Jiang Fei" in the class, but the voices fell silent when they saw him.
He told himself that he didn't care at all.
But……
Jiang Fei often sat in the seat to his left, just across the aisle.
Now it's empty.
Jiang Fei always liked to steal a glance at him, then purse her lips and look away.
Now, however, he keeps looking towards her seat.
After this happened several times, Shen Fang got annoyed and simply turned his head away, lay down on the table, and fell asleep.
When he woke up in a daze, his head was facing to the left again, and in his daze he saw the girl in the white dress smiling at him.
Then he was woken up.
"Brother Fang, congratulations on escaping your misery!"
"Finally, I don't have to be bothered by certain people anymore."
Shen Fang frowned, looking at the people in front of him, all of whom had once sought favors from the Shen family.
He watched them glancing meaningfully at Jiang Fei's seat, feeling irritated, and his face darkened.
Seeing this, the group of people looked at each other for a while, then silently disappeared.
Chen Bing, sitting in the back row, noticed something amiss and patted him on the shoulder.
Sink and turn back.
Chen Bing asked, "Is Jiang Fei's situation related to your change in attitude towards her during the holidays?"
Shen Fang said impatiently, "How could that be?" He paused, his voice lowering, "Everyone knows she likes me."
“I only need to say one word, and she will come back to me immediately.”
She just didn't come to school today, didn't she?
Hearing his tone, Chen Bing gave him a strange look: "You still don't know?"
"Know what?"
"Jiang Fei has transferred to another class."
Chen Fang was taken aback.
"They moved to the other side."
Across from them was Song Yan's class.
She agreed to his request.
He wasn't surprised at all; she rarely refused him.
But I felt inexplicably irritable.
Shen Fang got up and walked out of the classroom. He thought, after all, she was there because of him. He was just going to take a look, just to take a peek.
But as soon as he reached the door of the classroom across the street, a figure rushed out and bumped straight into him.
Shen Fang instinctively stepped aside before recognizing the person in front of him: "Ruan Tang?"
Ruan Tang stopped and looked up at him, her eyes red-rimmed, only murmuring his name: "Shen Fang..."
"How come you..." Shen Fang was about to ask when he suddenly noticed something out of the corner of his eye and looked up.
In the corner of the classroom, Jiang Fei was holding Song Yan's hand, the lingering smile in her eyes particularly glaring, making Song Yan's heart clench, and then his anger surged.
He still remembered that her hand was soft and gentle. When he was injured, Jiang Fei used that hand to support him as they strolled by the lake near the apartment.
Jiang Fei noticed him too, slowly looked over at him, and then her gaze froze as she stared at him intently.
Chen Fang's breath caught in her throat as she stared intently at Song Yan's hand, which she was still holding, expecting her to let go.
But just three seconds later, Jiang Fei looked away, still holding Song Yan's hand: "Song classmate, what did you just say about being cunning?"
Upon hearing this, Song Yan also came to his senses, his eyes filled with complex emotions.
The image of Shen Fang and Ruan Tang embracing in the hospital that day came to mind.
He didn't have much, and his pride wouldn't allow him to fight for what he couldn't have.
Song Yan slowly returned to his seat, holding Jiang Fei's hand without letting go.
Shen Fang watched the figures of the two people.
very good.
He was also very happy that Ruan Tang was now by his side.
But why is my mind filled with images of Jiang Fei and Song Yan holding hands?
"Shen Fang?" Ruan Tang called him softly.
Shen Fang reacted, put his arm around Ruan Tang's shoulder, and glanced at Jiang Fei unintentionally. Seeing that she looked dazed, he finally felt a little better. She really did care!
"I'll take you away from here."
Chen Fang softened his voice, finished speaking, and then took Ruan Tang's arm and left.
In the classroom, Song Yan almost immediately let go of Jiang Fei's hand.
This time, Jiang Fei did not resist and let go as well.
Song Yan stood up and gave her a cold look: "Is Jiang satisfied now?"
After saying that, he left on his own.
Jiang Fei watched his retreating figure and raised her eyebrows.
Of course I'm satisfied.
At least she now knows that Song Yan's feelings for Ruan Tang are far from being more important than his own dignity.
As I exited the school, the driver was already waiting at the entrance.
Jiang Fei was sitting in the back seat with the car window half-down. Just as she was about to roll the window up, she suddenly saw something and squinted.
Shen Fang and Ruan Tang were walking side by side.
Jiang Fei smiled. So this is how Shen Fang is in front of Ruan Tang.
He is serious and reserved, with a touch of rigor.
That doesn't seem like him at all.
"Miss, would you like to get out of the car?" The driver glanced at Jiang Fei in the rearview mirror. Everyone in the Jiang family knew a little about her feelings for the young master of the Shen family.
"Hmm?" Jiang Fei asked, puzzled. Then she shook her head and raised the window. "No need."
On the roadside, Shen Fang noticed something, frowned and looked over, and immediately saw Jiang Fei behind the car window.
His breath hitched, and his hand unconsciously clenched.
In the past, whenever Jiang Fei saw him with other girls, she would always take the initiative to go up to him, even if it was just to say hello.
But now...
Jiang Fei glanced at him only once before looking away, rolling up the window, and the car sped away.
Chen Fang's body stiffened.
"I'm sorry, Shen Fang." Ruan Tang's voice rang out beside her.
Shen Fang snapped out of his daze and looked at the other person.
Ruan Tang pursed her lips: "Before, because of fighting and racing, I always misunderstood you," she smiled, her face still a little pale, "Thank you for being with me today..."
Shen Fang's steps gradually came to a stop, and he stared blankly at Ruan Tang.
Actually, she didn't misunderstand him.
He was never a good person to begin with.
He suddenly remembered Jiang Fei, who sat behind him in Sai Wan that day, even though she was very scared, because she was worried about his safety; and Jiang Fei, who went alone to pick him up from the fight at one o'clock in the morning...
Ruan Tang was afraid he would do these things, while Jiang Fei was afraid he would get hurt.
"Shen Fang? What are you looking at?" Ruan Tang looked at Shen Fang staring straight at her, her eyelashes trembling slightly.
Shen Fang snapped out of his daze and looked around: "Sorry."
He offered an inexplicable apology, then quickly turned and left.
Shen Fang felt that something was increasingly wrong with him.
When I returned to the apartment, it was evening, the time I usually go for a walk.
Shen Fang stopped his motorcycle at the entrance of the apartment, but did not get off. He just stared at the crowd by the lake in the distance, feeling an unbearable loneliness welling up in his heart.
A car stopped beside them.
Shen Fang turned his head and glanced at it, then his gaze never left his face.
He recognized the car; it was the one that had just picked up Jiang Fei.
With a sense of relief, Chen Fang's eyes unconsciously brightened.
He thought that as long as Jiang Fei yielded to him and said that she had no intention of getting close to Song Yan, then... he would cancel the agreement.
However, the next second, the driver got out of the car: "Young Master Shen?"
He paused for a moment, then nodded.
The driver smiled and said, "Miss said she asked me to return this to you."
There was a key in his palm.
The apartment's spare key.
He gave it to Jiang Fei some time ago.
Shen Fang stared at the keys, his chest tightened, and his gaze quickly swept over the back seat of the car.
The driver hurriedly said, "Miss has already gone home. She said the holiday is over, and you probably don't want to see her."
Shen Fang pursed his lips tightly and took the key.
Of course he didn't want to see her.
Wanting to see her is like seeing a ghost!
The driver left.
Shen Fang gripped the key tightly.
He thought that this time, it wasn't just about giving in. If Jiang Fei didn't personally come to him and properly admit her mistake, he would definitely not cancel the agreement, and he would definitely not... see her again!
...
On the other side.
As Jiang Fei entered the villa, Wen Juan came out of the dining room with a fruit platter. She smiled when she saw her and said, "Jiang Jiang is back? Your dad will be back for dinner soon."
"Okay." Jiang Fei nodded, then, as if remembering something, took out some ointment from her bag, which she had bought at the pharmacy on her way back. "Aunt Wen, this ointment is for you."
Wenjuan asked in surprise, "What's this?"
“It’s for removing scars,” Jiang Fei said, handing the ointment to her. “From now on, you won’t have to cover it up anymore.”
She paused for a moment and then said, "No one here would dare to hurt you."
Wenjuan stared blankly at the ointment, then at Jiang Fei, her eyes slightly red. She quickly turned her head away, saying, "Why are you suddenly saying such things..."
Jiang Fei smiled: "Because this is your home." She thought for a moment and added, "You are my family, and so are yours."
After saying that, he quickly ran upstairs.
Wenjuan was still clutching the ointment.
family.
She had always known that Jiang Jiang was a sensible girl, but she didn't know how to express it. Now, these words struck her heart directly.
She dared not touch those dark memories of the past, including those of Xiao Cuo who hated her.
Now, shouldn't she... move on?
Jiang Fei walked into the bedroom and threw herself onto the sofa.
Scar removal creams cannot completely remove scars.
Aunt Wen just needs to resolve her guilt towards Jiang Cuo.
As he was pondering, the system's voice came, indicating that Shen Fang's favorability had increased by 2.
I'm 82.
Jiang Fei frowned, and after a long while, she let out a soft hum.
mean.
Thinking of Song Yan, Jiang Fei couldn't help but smile.
She opened her phone and looked at his itinerary, which she had found out.
On Tuesdays and Fridays, Song Yan would play the piano at a restaurant, and on weekends he would tutor a junior high school student. The rest of the time, he would work at a small restaurant.
He filled his spare time to the brim.
Jiang Fei turned off her phone.
The proud and arrogant young man always makes people unable to resist watching the moment he lowers his head.
...
The next day, in the evening.
In the upscale restaurant, a faint spotlight shines on the piano.
A young man in a suit sat at the piano, quietly playing "Starry Sky," the elegant music flowing gently.
The music suddenly became a little more urgent in the next second, but quickly returned to normal.
Song Yan watched as Jiang Fei slowly walked into the restaurant, her gaze falling on him without any attempt to conceal it, before taking her seat in the seat closest to the piano.
Song Yan couldn't help but furrow his brow slightly.
At school, Jiang Fei ignored his rejection and sat next to him. After school, she disappeared early, but unexpectedly, she reappeared here.
Song Yan met her gaze.
Her goal was clear: him.
Song Yan had heard about Jiang Fei's feelings for Shen Fang; she liked Shen Fang, but Shen Fang liked Ruan Tang.
Because of Jiang Fei, he and Ruan Tang had almost no chance to interact all day today.
After school in the evening, he saw Shen Fang waiting at the school gate on his motorcycle, and he ostentatiously took Ruan Tang home.
However, he vaguely saw that before leaving, Shen Fang subconsciously glanced around at the crowd.
Song Yan knew that he didn't have much time to indulge in those so-called romantic fantasies; he had to earn every penny he needed himself.
So, watching Ruan Tang and Shen Fang's retreating figures, he couldn't allow himself too much time to feel lost.
Jiang Fei, on the other hand, had plenty of time, but she spent almost all of it trying to get close to him.
Or rather, she approached him in order to gain his favor.
After playing the last note, Song Yan got up and went back to the dressing room to change out of his suit.
It was already dark when I left the restaurant.
A black sedan stopped in front of him, and the rear window slowly rolled down. Jiang Fei was smiling at him: "See you tomorrow, Song."
Song Yan's brows furrowed unconsciously.
I carried the groceries home, and the house was dark and silent.
Song Yan turned on the light.
The old man's voice immediately rang out: "Xiao Yan is back?"
Song Yan responded softly, "Grandma, remember to turn on the lights when you're home alone."
The old woman hobbled over to him: "Grandma's eyesight isn't very good either, so there's nothing she can do now. All she can do is save on electricity bills and make sure our little Yan suffers less..."
Song Yan paused for a moment, then smiled and said, "Grandma, I'm earning enough money now to pay the electricity bill, so you can use it without worry."
As he spoke, he walked into the kitchen with practiced ease, started cooking porridge, and prepared dinner for the day.
The old man watched his retreating figure and couldn't help but wipe the corner of his eye.
It's all her fault for this leg. If she hadn't been in such a hurry and fallen from the building, she wouldn't be unable to move even a few steps, and she wouldn't be half-blind...
After dinner, Song Yan applied a hot compress to the old man's knees, cleaned up the dishes and chairs, and then returned to his room to read economics books under the lamp.
He didn't turn off the lights until late at night, and lay down properly on the bed with a calm expression.
Thinking of Jiang Fei's words "See you tomorrow," he couldn't help but frown, but then his expression relaxed. Tomorrow he would be working at a small restaurant, a place full of the hustle and bustle of everyday life, not a place for a rich heiress like Jiang Fei.
However, after spending the entire day sitting at the same table with her, Song Yan went backstage at the restaurant, changed his clothes, and came out. He immediately saw Jiang Fei sitting in the corner, smiling at him.
She wore an expensive white dress, her naturally curly long hair cascading down her back, her skin as white as snow, and her bright eyes and brows, making her stand out in the somewhat dimly lit restaurant.
But she just sat there.
Song Yan couldn't help but frown, but still patiently stepped forward: "Hello, what would you like to order?"
Jiang Fei smiled and said, "Anything is fine."
Song Yan looked at her and said, "Beef soup is our restaurant's signature dish. Would you like some light and refreshing cold dishes as well?"
Jiang Fei smiled good-naturedly and said, "Sure," before adding, "I'm just waiting for you to get off work."
Their words easily attracted the attention of those around them, and the guests' gazes towards them became ambiguous.
Song Yan glanced at her without changing his expression, put away the menu, and turned to leave.
The restaurant didn't close early; by the time Song Yan left, it was already 10 p.m.
It was still the familiar black sedan, with Jiang Fei sitting in the back seat, and that familiar "See you tomorrow."
And this is just the beginning.
For the next few days, Song Yan always saw Jiang Fei in the same spot.
The restaurant staff had already assumed that the two were secretly dating when Jiang Fei said she was his girlfriend last time.
The same goes for people working in restaurants.
No matter how Song Yan explained, no one believed him. After being teased so many times, Song Yan became too lazy to pay attention anymore.
He wouldn't give up his source of income for irrelevant people.
On Friday, Song Yan came to the restaurant to play the piano as usual.
The waiter walked up to him and whispered, "Someone has paid to request a song."
Song Yan looked at the "five" the waiter held up and was slightly surprised: "Five hundred?"
The waiter shook his head: "Five thousand."
Song Yan frowned. Only a few people in the restaurant would request a song; a song was just a tip for dinner. Almost no one would pay that much.
What piece of music?
"prisoner."
As soon as the waiter finished speaking, Song Yan looked almost immediately at the seat where Jiang Fei usually sat. Sure enough, she was looking at him, smiling elegantly, quite different from the radiant smile she had in that small restaurant.
But Song Yan only felt annoyed.
He understood what Jiang Fei meant; he was now a prisoner whom Jiang Fei could confine at any time.
Five thousand yuan was just the cost of a meal for her, yet she gave him the money as if it were charity, which seemed like a deliberate act of humiliation.
"Song Yan?" The waiter called out softly when he didn't speak.
Song Yan stood up and said, "I'm sorry, I'm not feeling well today."
After saying that, he turned around and stepped off the stage.
When Jiang Fei changed her clothes and walked out of the restaurant, she did not sit in the black car as usual, but stood at the restaurant entrance.
Song Yan stared at her for a long time, then stepped forward to meet her gaze: "Classmate Jiang."
Jiang Fei feigned surprise: "Is there something you need, Song?"
Song Yan frowned slightly, suppressing his anger, and said, "I hope that Jiang will no longer follow me around in the future."
Jiang Fei tilted her head: "Student Song, are you referring to on-campus or off-campus?"
“Yes, it is,” Song Yan said calmly. “Within the school, everyone wants Jiang to stay as far away from me as possible, and outside the school, even more so.”
After saying that, he walked past her and left.
"Are you going to the city center tomorrow to tutor a junior high student surnamed Wang?" Jiang Fei asked slowly from behind.
Song Yan suddenly stopped, paused for two seconds, turned his head and said coldly, "Please, Jiang, stop investigating me!"
Jiang Fei remained silent, only watching the fluctuating favorability rating above Song Yan's head, which eventually settled at -3.
She smiled.
It's good that it's moving.
weekend.
When Song Yan went to a student's home in the city center to tutor, he specifically looked around. The black car was not following him, and Jiang Fei was nowhere to be seen.
He breathed a sigh of relief.
After finishing the lesson and checking the students' homework, it was already dark when Song Yan left the students' homes.
He bought the groceries and hurried back home, but stopped in his tracks when he saw the light on in his own window in the old residential building.
In recent years, he has told his grandmother many times to just turn on the light, but she never listens.
But today...
Song Yan's steps became hurried as she rushed upstairs and opened the door: "Grandma..."
The sound stopped abruptly.
Two figures sat on a simple sofa, with several boxes of gifts placed beside them.
Song Yan looked up at Jiang Fei sitting next to his grandmother, their smiles still lingering on their faces.
"Xiao Yan is back?" The old woman's eyes were full of surprise. "Xiao Yan made friends but didn't tell Grandma. If Fei Fei hadn't come looking for me, I wouldn't have known."
Feifei.
Song Yan's face turned cold. He hated anyone who approached his family for any purpose.
"Feifei also said that you played the piano well yesterday, and a customer gave you five thousand yuan, but you refused to accept it, so he simply put it all into your electricity card..."
Song Yan's expression grew increasingly gloomy as he looked at Jiang Fei.
Jiang Fei nodded and smiled, "Student Song..."
Before she could finish speaking, she felt a sudden darkness before her eyes. Song Yan stepped forward and pulled her toward the bedroom on the side.
The door slammed shut.
Song Yan looked at Jiang Fei with icy eyes: "Do you really think I don't know what you're planning?"
Jiang Fei replied innocently, "To keep the elderly company."
"Jiang Fei!" Song Yan pursed his lips, unusually furious.
The next second, he turned around, opened the wardrobe, took out his wallet, pulled out a bank card, paused, and then took out five hundred-yuan bills: "There is five thousand yuan in the card. This five hundred is the money for the gifts you brought. Please, Jiang, leave here!"
Jiang Fei glanced at Song Yan, then at the bank card and banknotes, and then slowly took them.
Song Yan stepped aside to make way for the exit.
Jiang Fei showed no intention of leaving, instead chuckled, "Classmate Song, do you think I'm so easily dismissed?"
Song Yan stared intently at her: "You approached me, wasn't it all for Shen Fang?"
Jiang Fei looked at him and smiled: "So you knew."
Song Yan pursed his lips and remained silent.
"Then what do you say?" Jiang Fei walked up to him. "Will you completely sever ties with Ruan Tang?"
Song Yan frowned, his eyes flickered slightly, but his voice remained calm: "You want me to stop having any contact with Ruan Tang?"
Jiang Fei didn't respond, but looked up at him, her voice tinged with melancholy: "Song Yan, you know about Ruan Tang's father collapsing and being hospitalized, right?"
Song Yan's expression changed slightly.
He knew, of course, that it was on that day that he saw Ruan Tang and Shen Fang embracing, while he felt like a loser, unable to do anything.
Jiang Fei continued, "You also know that Shen Fang paid all of Ruan Tang's medical expenses and hired the best doctor to operate on Ruan's father, right?"
Song Yan frowned.
“Grandma’s health isn’t very good either,” Jiang Fei said calmly.
"What exactly are you trying to say!" Song Yan's voice became somewhat out of control when she mentioned her grandmother.
Jiang Fei looked at him and said, "What Ruan Tang needs is someone who can be by her side, help her, take care of her, and give her a sense of security. You can't do that."
“A prodigy like you naturally can’t give up your studies to work.”
“Your only relative should have had surgery earlier to fix his leg and eyes, but you couldn’t do it.”
"Jiang Fei!"
“I can help you,” Jiang Fei said calmly. “I can help you with anything you need, including Grandma’s eyes.”
Song Yan glanced at her and sneered, "Eyes?"
The doctor said that Grandma's eyes were severely damaged due to excessive eye strain when she was young, and they are now beyond repair. Only her legs can be operated on.
However, it requires a huge amount of surgical fees.
There was no hint of joking in Jiang Fei's eyes. She nodded: "Eyes."
Song Yan's eyes narrowed slightly. Her gaze didn't resemble that of a naive rich young lady; instead, it inexplicably inspired trust.
Song Yan was somewhat dazed, then snapped back to reality, staring at her cautiously for a long time before asking, "What do you want?"
Jiang Fei looked at him: "You."
Without even thinking, Song Yan said, "Impossible."
"You haven't listened to my request yet." Jiang Fei smiled as she walked to his side and gently smoothed out the wrinkles on his shoulder.
Song Yan froze, sniffing the sweet fragrance near her ear, and moved aside.
Jiang Fei moved even closer to him, her voice ringing out beside him: "Don't worry, we're not boyfriend and girlfriend. It just means you're not allowed to approach other girls without a reason, you're not allowed to refuse any of my requests, and you're not allowed to say 'no' to me."
After thinking for a moment, Jiang Fei added, "Of course, this excludes illegal and disorderly conduct."
In her previous life, even when the original owner got close to Song Yan, it was because of their shared fate; she indulged him and helped him.
As it turns out, only the original owner of this body got caught up in it; Song Yan remained a clear-headed outsider throughout.
We might as well try a different way of playing.
As Song Yan listened to Jiang Fei's words, a hint of anger and shame flickered in his eyes.
He never expected that this seemingly bright girl would say such...shameless things.
She gives him money, and he has to listen to her.
She clearly only saw him as a plaything.
“Impossible,” Song Yan said coldly.
Jiang Fei wasn't annoyed. She placed the bank card and banknotes on the table and said, "Think about it carefully. I don't have much patience."
After saying that, she turned around and opened the door, her voice regaining its sweetness: "Grandma, it's getting late, I'll go back now, I'll come to see you another day!"
"Okay, okay!" Grandma nodded repeatedly. "Xiao Yan doesn't have many friends, Fei Fei, remember to come often."
Jiang Fei smiled and nodded, glancing at Song Yan's back, who was still standing in the room: "Yes."
After saying that, he opened the door and left.
Hearing the door close behind him, Song Yan still felt an uncontrollable surge of anger in his chest.
He rarely had such intense emotions, but Jiang Fei had stirred them up in just a few days.
"Xiao Yan?" The old man called out to him in the living room, puzzled.
Song Yan snapped out of her daze, slowly exhaled, and turned to walk out of the bedroom: "Grandma?"
“That little girl Feifei is really nice, she’s beautiful and polite,” the old man said with a smile and a sigh of relief. “Knowing that you’re not that withdrawn, I’m relieved.”
What she feared most was that one day she would suddenly leave, leaving him all alone.
Song Yan's throat moved slightly; he knew what his grandmother meant, so he couldn't refute her.
But he couldn't help but laugh at himself inwardly. "How 'really' Jiang Fei made such an rude and shameful request!"
...
In the following days, Jiang Fei stopped sitting next to Song Yan at school and stopped following him outside of school, seemingly wanting him to think things through on his own.
Song Yan never understood what Jiang Fei meant by "not very patient." The fact that she went to his workplace to wait for him for several days in a row was not a sign of poor patience.
But Song Yan soon found out.
He went to the restaurant to play the piano as usual, but was greeted by the lobby manager who took out his wages for the period of time, gave them to him with a look of apology, and subtly conveyed the meaning that "he has been fired".
At this moment, Song Yan only vaguely guessed what was going on.
When Song Yan arrived at the small restaurant and the owner said, "Business is bad, we don't need to hire anyone else," he almost immediately realized that Jiang Fei was behind it.
Even the families of the students he tutors have expressed a desire to hire a tutor who can teach their children on weekdays.
With money and power, one can certainly do whatever one wants.
Jiang Fei used her wealth and power to strip him of everything.
But then, she asked him with concern in her eyes at school, "Aren't you going to work today, Song?"
Song Yan ignored her and went to find a job every day after class.
He was always confident in his abilities, and almost every job he applied for initially showed him the utmost enthusiasm and welcome. However, just one day later, he would receive an apologetic phone call informing him that he had failed the interview.
Frustrated and bewildered.
That day, Song Yan quietly returned to the apartment building, then stopped and looked up at the dark window.
For the first time, I felt utterly powerless and exhausted.
I stood alone downstairs for who knows how long, until it was completely dark.
Suddenly, a commotion broke out in the hallway, mixed with the sound of neighbors calling out "Old lady".
Song Yan realized what was happening, her heart tightened, and she hurriedly ran inside, where she saw her neighbor aunt.
When the aunt saw him, she hurriedly said, "Xiao Yan, you're finally back! Your old lady was worried about you and tried to find her way out, but she suddenly couldn't see and collapsed on the ground..."
Song Yan's expression changed drastically, and he hurriedly ran upstairs, where several neighbors were helping the old man back into his house.
"Grandma!" Song Yan hurriedly stepped forward.
"Xiao Yan?" Grandma raised her hand, groping in mid-air.
“It’s me,” Song Yan quickly grabbed her hand. “Grandma, how are you?”
Grandma's eyes were unfocused as she strained to look at him, asking, "Xiao Yan, why can't Grandma see you?"
Song Yan was stunned. The words the doctor and Jiang Fei had said that day kept echoing in his mind, and he was torn between his thoughts and his feelings.
The day the doctor predicted has finally arrived.
Jiang Fei, however, said... she could.
"Xiao Yan?"
"I'll take you to the hospital!" Song Yan quickly carried the old man on his back and ran downstairs towards the hospital.
However, after completing the examination, the doctor could only shake his head regretfully.
Song Yan arranged for the old man to stay in a ward, and then sat alone in the pale corridor. Only then did he realize that his right hand was trembling slightly.
He gripped the back of his right hand, trying to control its trembling, and after a long while, slowly took out his phone.
Late that night, Jiang Fei received a phone call while he was asleep.
The boy's voice across from me was filled with humiliation and resentment, and was terribly hoarse.
"I promise you."
