In a zombie apocalypse, while survivors and zombies fought tooth and nail, Shu Lan hid in a garbage dump, using the stench to mask human scent and evade zombies. There, she gave birth to her human ...
Chapter 14: Team wiped out.
The first thing that came down was the soil, followed by clothes, quilts, tents, and various medicines. Then knives, axes, and shovels fell from the sky and piled up together with a clang. Finally, there were dozens of white stones.
Shu Lan was so frightened by the scene that she was stunned for a moment. She quickly picked up the shovel that had rolled down from the pile of dirt and beat her arms hard against the arms that were tightly restraining her ankles.
Perhaps because of suffocation, the man gradually lost strength and his fingers slowly loosened. Shu Lan pulled out her legs and climbed up from the ground using her hands and feet.
"This is my space!"
The space-type psychic who was holding his calf watched as all the supplies he had collected were poured out, his eyes almost popping out.
He ignored the pain, clasped his palms together and then pulled them apart. The "eye" that had once been a part of his body, able to open and close at will, was still in mid-air, coldly refusing to respond.
"What did you do? Why did my ability disappear? Give me back my space!"
The man gritted his teeth and reached out to pinch the boy's shoulder, but Shu Maomao just raised his head and looked up calmly.
"Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding..."
The shovel fell from the sky and hit the man on the head. It hit him randomly like a storm and finally knocked him unconscious.
Seeing him fall down with a bruised face, Shu Lan gasped and dropped the shovel. She immediately squatted down to check on the child: "Where did you go just now? Did he hit you?"
Compared to Shu Lan's anxiety, Shu Maomao seemed very calm: "No, I dug a tunnel and crawled over, and took away his superpowers."
"Authentic?" Shu Lan was genuinely surprised. "Baby, how could you come up with so many tricks in such a short time?"
Shu Maomao glanced at the space bar, clapped his hands to close it, sighed, and said, "Mommy, you're asking this kind of question again. If you know, you know, just like if you're hungry, you know to eat, and if you're thirsty, you know to drink water."
He opened his mouth and imitated eating, taking two bites. “No need to teach me, I’ll know how to use it when I want to.”
Shu Lan hesitated and said, "That's what I said..."
In the past, when she saw others just awakening their superpowers, they would try and figure out how to use them bit by bit, but Shu Maomao used his superpowers like an experienced veteran. Could this also be the combat awareness that comes with his genes?
Unable to figure it out, Shu Lan could only keep the problem in her heart.
In any case, it was her son who had the talent, not her opponent, and that was a good thing.
She turned back to count the spoils, picked up the white crystal on the slope, and said to herself: "What is it? Alcohol? Gemstone? Baby, do you know?"
Shu Maomao said, "I don't know."
Shu Lan said, "Great! Finally, there's something in the world that the omnipotent Shu Maomao doesn't know about. Baby, open that space again."
Shu Maomao clapped his hands, and the entrance to the other dimension appeared again, but this time it was opposite the two of them.
Shu Lan looked from several angles, and all she saw was a bottomless black hole. She asked curiously, "How big is it? Can someone hide in it?"
Shu Maomao sensed it and said, "It can hold ten mommies. There's no air in it."
It’s vacuumed and so small.
Shu Lan said regretfully, "It seems everyone's space is different. I've heard before that some people's spaces have air, soil, and water, like a secret garden where they can grow vegetables and raise chickens."
Shu Maomao picked up a colorful little cube and held it up: "Mommy, what is this?"
Shu Lan took it, looked at the production date, peeled off the outer packaging, and said, "Open your mouth, baby."
Shu Maomao opened his mouth and a round object was stuffed into his mouth. The sweet and sour taste quickly spread, and his calm eyes slowly lit up.
"This is candy. It's sweet, right? Isn't it delicious?"
"Um!"
It's so delicious that it makes your voice rise.
Shu Lan curled her eyes and smiled.
After the zombie virus broke out, all the rice, flour, sugar and seasonings with long shelf lives in the supermarkets were looted, and people like Shu Lan, who had no money and no strength, got nothing.
Shu Lan had picked up some candy when she was looting supplies before, but she ate it all when she was pregnant. Poor Shu Maomao only now knows what candy tastes like.
Shu Lan threw her backpack into the space, then picked through the pile of miscellaneous items: "Cotton-padded jacket, it's too big, don't want it. No, you can have it as your quilt. Cold medicine, Huoxiang Zhengqi water, Band-Aids..."
She picked out an axe and stood up. "I'm so tired. I won't pick anymore. Put them all away. These will be ours from now on!"
The black hole sucked back all useful things, including those white stones of unknown origin, leaving behind a pile of yellow mud with people buried inside.
A bloodless arm stretched out from the pile of dirt. Shu Maomao squatted down, took out a drop of blood with the tip of a knife, and smeared it on the back of his hand.
Right arm strengthened.
Shu Maomao looked at her right hand, which was two sizes smaller than the man's, and curled her lips.
It's useless.
Shu Lan, holding an axe, limped towards the unconscious man lying on the ground, barely breathing, and whispered, "You're unlucky to have offended me to this point."
She pointed the axe downwards at the man's throat, closing her eyes, but her arm seemed to be blocked by something, unable to fall.
Shu Lan opened her eyes, feeling very upset.
How useless! How come you only have the courage to kill someone when they are resisting, but you don’t dare to kill them when they are lying right in front of you!
Shu Maomao stole the space of this mutant. If he were alive, he would spread the secret of the second plunderer. He must be killed at all costs.
Thinking that Shu Maomao would be soaked in a jar like that man for a group of white coats to study, Shu Lan's eyes became sharp again and he raised the axe high.
…
Half an hour later, the mother and son, who had changed into new clothes and wiped off the dirty parts of their bodies, walked out of the community gate.
The army green SUV was parked on the side of the road, with a man lying with his eyes open in death on the passenger seat.
Shu Lan originally wanted to go look for the bicycle, but changed her mind when she saw the off-road vehicle that had lost its owner.
What's wrong with not being able to drive? Everyone learns from not knowing how to drive. It's just a machine with four wheels. Have you ever seen a pig run even if you haven't eaten pork?
She opened the passenger door, dragged the man out and threw him away, asked her son for water and a towel, wiped off the remaining blood, and sat in the driver's seat refreshed.
"Driving a car is not that difficult, baby, fasten your seat belt."
Shu Maomao asked, "Where are the seat belts?"
Shu Lan turned around and helped him pull out the seat belt and buckled it on the other side: "Here."
For safety reasons, Shu Lan fastened her seatbelt and took control of the steering wheel again. She looked ahead with great ambition: "Okay, let's go."
What to do first?
Oh, yes, turn the key, and then it seems like...
There are two pedals under your feet. Which one should I press? I don't know, so I'll try both.
When there was no response after stepping on the left pedal, Shu Lan switched to the right pedal. The car suddenly rushed forward, and the upper bodies of mother and son fell forward at the same time. Fortunately, the seat belts stopped them, otherwise they would have hit their heads.
Shu Lan couldn't understand the dials on it, but as long as the car could move forward, it was working.
She sat up straight with confidence and comforted her son: "Don't be afraid, it's just a small accident. You will learn it soon."
Shu Maomao didn't say anything, but silently leaned against the back of the seat and stretched out his little hand to grab the car door.
