Chapter 91 Depression?

When Nan Qu opened her eyes, she saw herself lying in a room filled with the smell of disinfectant.

Suddenly, two pairs of very similar eyes, one large and one small, appeared before him, both looking at him with the same worry in their eyes.

Nan Qu, somewhat out of sorts, had a wandering thought: perhaps these two really are father and son, after all, their eyes are so alike.

"How are you? Still feeling unwell?"

Nan Qu was brought back to her senses by Su Ruoyan's voice. Just as she was about to respond, she was startled by Su Ruoyan's worried eyes. More importantly, there was an emotion in those eyes that she had never seen before.

"Could he have fallen for me?" The thought that suddenly flashed through Nan Qu's mind made her shudder.

Su Ruoyan thought Nan Qu still had a fever, so she quickly reached out to touch her forehead.

Some cold hands touched Nan Qu's forehead, making her shiver again. She quickly said, "It's okay, I'm fine. I guess I was just too tired from filming. I'll be fine after a few days of rest. Um, I'm a little hungry, can I eat something?"

Su Ruoyan thought that Nan Qu had been unconscious for three days, receiving intravenous nutrition. Now that she was awake, she must be hungry: "Wait a minute, I'll go downstairs and buy you some."

Nan Qu breathed a sigh of relief as she watched Su Ruoyan leave, but before she could finish, she saw Nan Xing's small eyes were red and tears were streaming down her face.

Nan Qu knew she had frightened him, so she sat up and patted the seat next to her: "Come here, let Mommy give you a hug."

Nanxing burst into tears and threw herself into Nanqu's arms, crying so hard it was heartbreaking. This attracted the attention of the nurses outside.

When the nurse came in and saw that the patient was alright, she said understandingly, "The little guy was quite frightened these past few days, but he wouldn't cry. He only started crying now that you're better."

Nan Qu looked at her son, whose chin seemed a little thin, with a touch of heartache: "Sweetie, son, Mommy's here. I'm sorry, did I scare you?"

Worried that the baby's crying would disturb the neighbors, the nurse considerately closed the door and left.

Nanxing sobbed in Nanqu's arms, "I don't want Mom to leave me. I only want Mom, I don't want anyone else."

Nan Qu paused in comforting Nan Xing, then, remembering the dream Nan Xing had after hitting his head, asked uncertainly, "Did our son have another dream?"

Nanxing was never on guard against Nanqu. When Nanqu asked her question, she didn't hesitate to tell her about her dream: "It was my mother from before. She said she wanted to come back, but my mother wouldn't let her."

Nan Qu thought to herself, "Just as I thought: What did my son say?"

Nanxing asked, "Mommy, is it that bad guy who made you sick? If Mommy chases him away, will you stop getting sick?"

Nan Qu was surprised by Nan Xing's response: "Well, when it comes to getting sick, Mom can't control it. But it's true that she won't get sick again because of that jerk."

Nanxing smiled happily: "That's great."

Looking at Nanxing like this, Nanqu couldn't help but ask curiously, "Doesn't our son want his mother to go back to her original form?"

Nanxing looked at Nanqu with a strange expression: "Mom, why would you ask that? Of course I don't want you to go back to how you were before. Your depression finally got better, and you can't go back to that!"

"depression?"

Nanxing said matter-of-factly, "I've learned a lot about medicine from my mom and I also know about depression. Mom, don't worry, you've fully recovered now and won't relapse."

Nan Qu was both amused and exasperated: "Okay, thank you for your concern, son."

Nanxing nodded vigorously. He hadn't told his mother that he also seemed to have depression. Otherwise, why would he be able to see the same image of his former mother as his own?

However, does the fact that he saw his former mother disappear mean that he, like his mother, has recovered from depression?

Haha, he's really amazing. He overcame depression on his own~ No wonder he's his mother's son.

Just as Nan Qu was wondering if her son lacked the talent to study medicine, she heard him say:

"Mom, you should find a new dad!"

Nan Qu almost drowned in her own saliva: "What?" She knew that her soul had not yet recovered, so she was somewhat deaf?

Unexpectedly, Nanxing said again, "Mom, let Uncle Su be your dad! A couple of days ago, Mom was sick, and if Uncle Su hadn't been there, I probably wouldn't have been able to get Mom to the hospital by myself. So, Mom, you can find Uncle Su to be your dad first, and I won't need him when I grow up."

Standing outside the door, Su Ruoyan held the food he had brought in one hand and his phone displaying the paternity test results in the other. He was somewhat speechless; it seemed he needed to have a serious talk with his son.

At this moment, Su Ruoyan's heart was pounding rapidly; he also wanted to know Nan Qu's answer. However, remembering that he had less than two years left to live, Su Ruoyan suddenly knocked on the door and went inside.

He admitted that he liked Nan Qu, but he couldn't give her a lifetime of happiness, nor did he want to hear words of rejection. That was fine; he didn't want to disrupt the current harmony.

Nan Qu raised an eyebrow as Su Ruoyan walked in. Nan Qu naturally recognized Su Ruoyan at the door; after all, they had lived together for so long, and she could still recognize his footsteps.

However, she thought Su Ruoyan would want to hear her answer, but it seems she was overthinking it.

After dinner, Nanxing finally couldn't stay awake any longer and fell asleep on the bed next to her.

Su Ruoyan showed Nan Qu the paternity test results. Nan Qu wasn't surprised when she saw that the test showed a father-son relationship of over 99.99%. However, the issue of the child still needed to be discussed clearly.

What are you planning to do?

Su Ruoyan looked at Nan Qu and said, "I need to think about Nan Xing's matter. This is not a decision I can make alone, and I also need to respect Nan Xing's opinion."
