In her previous life, Qin Hanshu couldn't cope and took her own life when her stepfather forced her to the countryside. After her death, her soul attached itself to a prayer bead that her steps...
The team basically didn't interfere with the activities of the educated youth; they could go to the city whenever they wanted.
But Zhang Yao shook her head, "We don't have any money, we can't buy anything, what's the point of doing anything..."
Qin Hanshu nodded.
Then, she went to check out the new cave dwelling.
The new cave dwelling is not far from the team headquarters, only a two-minute walk away.
A total of eight cave dwellings were built, two of which belonged to Qin Hanshu and Ma Chaoyang. The remaining six cave dwellings were communal dormitories, with each cave accommodating approximately 2-3 people.
The cave dwellings are all the same size, about thirty square meters.
It looks quite large, but all of a person's daily life, including cooking, takes place in this cave dwelling.
Because a kang (heated brick bed) must be heated in the cave dwellings, otherwise it would be impossible to live there in winter, in order to save firewood, instead of building a separate kitchen kiln, a stove was built in each cave dwelling so that meals could be cooked while the kang was being heated.
Qin Hanshu's kiln has already been assigned to her; it's a row of eight holes, and the easternmost hole is hers. Ma Chaoyang's is at the westernmost end.
Next to the entrance to the cave is a window, and under the window is a kang (a heated brick bed). The stove is next to the kang, and the interior is connected to the outside, with ventilation openings.
Qin Hanshu had long noticed that although her and Ma Chaoyang's cave dwelling looked the same size as the others, there was actually an extra hole in the back.
The hole wasn't big, but the temperature was even lower than in the cellar, making it an excellent storage space.
Qin Hanshu thought that perhaps this was a bonus given since they had paid for it.
The cave dwelling still looked dusty and covered in dirt. Qin Hanshu roughly estimated what she needed to add before coming out.
Furniture is a given.
The furniture in Zhang Yao's cave dwelling was all added by herself: a desk, a kang table, and a chair, all made from old door panels or other scrap wood that other villagers didn't want.
It took several months to gather all that together.
These days, furniture is a big item that's hard to acquire, whether in cities or rural areas.
Even though there are trees in Haowan Village, they can't be cut down at will.
She has a lot of furniture stored in her space, but how can she take it out and use it?
