Rebirth 1983: I'll Make the Ungrateful Children Kneel and Beg for Mercy

Su Jianguo took his last breath on his sickbed, still hearing the quarrel of his five children fighting over 300,000 yuan for surgery fees.

When he opened his eyes again, he had returned to t...

Chapter 144 Wu Er's Sloppy Battle Against the Wild Boar King

After lunch, during the workers' lunch break, Wu Ermaitai greeted Su Jianjun.

"I'm going to take a walk in the back hill to see if I can pick some lantern fruits; Jianguo loves them."

Su Jianjun was inspecting the tractor and answered without looking up.

"Go ahead, but don't go too far, and be careful."

Wu Ermai happily carried a small cloth bag and walked along the familiar path towards the back mountain.

After walking for about twenty minutes, Wu Er spotted his target on a sunny hillside.

Several clumps of low shrubs were covered with small green fruits, like little lanterns, glistening in the sunlight.

"Haha, that's quite a lot!"

Wu Ermai happily squatted down and carefully picked the ripe fruit.

He remembered that when he was a child, he and Su Jianguo would often sneak up the mountain to find these wild fruits. He would pick one and pop it into his mouth.

"Tear~"

As always, the familiar sour smell made Wu Ermai gasp.

Then came the excitement.

"Hehe, this is the taste."

Wu Er started picking lantern fruits quickly.

As the cloth bag gradually filled up, Wu Ermai stood up with satisfaction, ready to return to the greenhouse.

Just then, he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his stomach.

"Ouch..."

Wu Er, clutching his stomach, looked around and squatted down behind a big tree.

He put down the cloth bag full of fruit, loosened his belt, and hummed a little tune.

However, what he didn't know was...

Just as he was concentrating on relieving himself, a pair of scarlet eyes were staring intently at the unsuspecting human from the bushes not far away.

The wild boar king approached silently, its massive 800-pound body making not a sound.

After finishing his business, Wu Ermaitai casually picked up a large leaf from the ground.

Just then, he suddenly felt a chill down his back.

Wu Er slowly turned his head and met a pair of scarlet eyes filled with hatred.

"Oh my god!"

Wu Er's pupils suddenly contracted, and before he could even pull up his pants, he rolled to the side.

Almost simultaneously, the boar king charged like lightning, its sharp tusks digging deep into the tree trunk where it had just been standing, sending splinters flying.

Wu Er got up in a disheveled and embarrassed state, his pants slipping down to his ankles and hindering his movements.

The wild boar king had already pulled out its tusks and turned to pounce again.

In a split second, Wu Er grabbed a dry branch from the ground and used all his strength to poke it into the eyes of the wild boar king.

"Aww!!"

The wild boar king let out a painful howl.

A withered branch left a bloody mark at the corner of its eye.

This enraged it even more; it shook its head, pawed the ground with its hind legs, and prepared to charge again.

Taking advantage of the moment, Wu Ermaitai pulled up his pants and drew the sickle he always carried from his waist.

His hands were trembling, but his eyes were unusually firm.

"Come on, you beast! I'm not afraid of you!"

The wild boar king seemed to understand his provocation, and the ferocity in his eyes intensified.

It suddenly changed its strategy, instead of charging in a straight line, it circled around Wu Ermaita rapidly, looking for the best angle to attack.

This tactical behavior is nothing like that of an ordinary wild animal; it's more like that of a well-thought-out hunter.

Wu Ermaitai leaned against a big tree, gripping his sickle tightly, cold sweat beading on his forehead.

He noticed the strange transparent membrane above the boar king's head, and the brain tissue inside seemed to tremble slightly with each breath.

This discovery terrified him.

This is not a normal wild boar at all!

"Help! Wild boar! Wild boar!"

Wu Er shouted at the top of his lungs, his voice echoing through the mountains and forests.

Enraged by the shout, the boar king finally launched an attack.

It charged like a cannonball. Wu Ermaita dodged to the side, and slashed at it with his sickle, leaving only a shallow white mark.

This beast had incredibly thick skin and flesh; the blade couldn't even scratch it.

"Oh my god!"

Wu Ermai's forehead was covered in cold sweat. Seeing that his attack was ineffective, he made a quick decision and turned to run towards the nearest big tree.

The tree trunk was as thick as two people could hug, and its branches and leaves were lush; it was his only hope for survival.

The wild boar king charged again, and Wu Ermai could even smell the stench of blood and mud emanating from it.

He leaped up, grabbed the lowest branch with both hands, and desperately pushed off the trunk with his legs to climb upwards.

The wild boar king's tusks grazed his trouser leg, and with a "rip," a large tear appeared in the trousers.

Wu Er's heart pounded wildly, and he used both hands and feet to quickly climb to the treetop like a frightened monkey.

He didn't dare stop to catch his breath until he climbed up a thick branch more than three meters off the ground.

Looking down, I saw the wild boar king circling the big tree, his scarlet eyes burning with rage, white steam billowing from his nostrils, and tattered strips of his trousers still hanging from his tusks.

"Good heavens, that almost killed me!"

Wu Er wiped the sweat from his forehead, muttering to himself, still shaken.

His pants were tattered, revealing his dark thighs, but he didn't care. He just clung tightly to the tree trunk, afraid that he might fall if he wasn't careful.

When the wild boar king saw its prey climb the tree, it roared angrily, took a few steps back, and then rammed into the tree trunk.

With a muffled thud, the whole tree trembled slightly, and the leaves fell in a flurry.

Wu Ermaitai was so frightened that he hugged the old tree even tighter, but soon found that the old tree did not move at all, and the wild boar king's collision was nothing more than a tickle to it.

"Hey, ram it! Ram it as hard as you can!"

Wu Er's courage gradually grew. He broke off a tree branch and threw it at the wild boar king below.

"You beast, you still want to eat your Grandpa Wu? Dream on!"
