Rebirth 1983: I'll Make the Ungrateful Children Kneel and Beg for Mercy

Su Jianguo took his last breath on his sickbed, still hearing the quarrel of his five children fighting over 300,000 yuan for surgery fees.

When he opened his eyes again, he had returned to t...

Chapter 183 Su Jianguo Coerces the Song Family

"You watched me being bullied in the funeral hall, and you didn't dare utter a single word. Are you even a man?"

The sound of the bamboo stick striking the skin was crisp and clear.

Wang Youcai gritted his teeth and dared not utter a sound, only tears of humiliation glistening in his eyes.

"Speak up! Are you mute?"

Song Guixiang kicked Wang Youcai in the shoulder, spilling water from the copper basin all over the floor.

"I...I was wrong..."

Wang Youcai finally broke down, tears mingling with sweat.

"Gui Xiang, please spare me..."

Song Guixiang sneered and was about to hit him again when the door was suddenly pushed open. A burly man with a fierce face barged in; it was Song Guixiang's cousin, Song Jingang.

"Sis! Something terrible has happened!"

Song Jingang said breathlessly, paused for a moment when he saw the scene inside the room, but quickly continued.

"That Su Jianguo is back with more than twenty men in black suits. They look intimidating!"

Song Guixiang's bamboo stick stopped in mid-air, and she frowned.

"What?"

"It's true! Everyone in the village saw it. Those people were all wearing sunglasses; they didn't look like troublemakers."

Song Jingang wiped the sweat from his forehead.

"We should pack our things and head back to the village quickly, so we don't suffer any losses."

Song Guixiang's expression changed, but she quickly regained her domineering demeanor.

"What's there to be afraid of? No matter how arrogant Su Jianguo is, does he dare to run wild on our turf?"

She turned to look at Wang Youcai, who was still kneeling on the ground, a calculating glint in her eyes.

"Go, bring your paralyzed father back. With him in our hands, let's see what Su Jianguo dares to do!"

Upon hearing this, Wang Youcai suddenly looked up, a look of defiance appearing in his eyes for the first time.

"Guixiang, my father..."

"What? You've gone too far?"

Song Guixiang raised her bamboo stick, ready to strike again.

Song Jingang quickly stopped him.

"Sis, now's not the time to deal with him. We need to get out of here. Su Jianguo and his gang look really dangerous; I bet they're carrying guns!"

"gun?"

Song Guixiang's hand finally fell to her sides, and her face turned pale.

"He...he dares?"

"Let's go, sis!"

Song Jingang pulled Song Guixiang and walked outside.

"Let's go back to the village and talk to Dad about this further."

As Song Guixiang was being pulled away, she didn't forget to turn back and glare fiercely at Wang Youcai.

"You just wait! This isn't over!"

Wang Youcai slumped to the ground, watching his wife's departing figure, tears streaming uncontrollably down his face.

...

Meanwhile, at the entrance of Village Chief Zhang's house, Su Jianguo was distributing guns to his "bodyguards".

"Remember, this is just a prop. Do not fire it unless absolutely necessary."

Su Jianguo said solemnly, handing the last gun to the bearded man.

"Our scene is about intimidating the Song family, not a fight."

The burly man with the thick beard nodded and awkwardly tucked the gun into his waistband.

The black suit concealed the outline of the gun, but the deliberately exposed gun handle was enough to intimidate onlookers.

"Boss, what's the next step?"

"A bodyguard asked."

Su Jianguo put on sunglasses, a cold smile curling at the corner of his mouth.

"Come on, follow me to Li Family Village, let's meet this Song family!!"

Su Jianguo decided to take the initiative, so he immediately ordered a car to be driven to Lijia Village, where the Song family lived, and then called on Village Chief Zhang.

Three cars drove into Lijia Village, kicking up dust.

It caused an instant sensation.

Under the old locust tree at the village entrance, several old men were so startled that they dropped their pipes on the ground.

They squinted their dim old eyes, looking at this scene they had never seen before.

The lead vehicle was a jeep, followed by two vans with dark tinted windows, making it impossible to see who was inside.

"Wow, who's this important person?"

An old man with a missing front tooth muttered.

The jeep slowly drove along the village road.

The children following behind the car ran excitedly, making "whoosh" sounds to imitate the car.

The women peeked out from their courtyards, shading their eyes with their hands as they peered out.

In the remote village of Lijia, even a bicycle is a rare sight, let alone three cars appearing at the same time.

Su Jianguo sat in the back of the jeep, observing the unfamiliar village through the window.

The dirt road is lined with low brick houses, with a few slightly tidy courtyards, but most of them are dilapidated.

This stands in stark contrast to the luxurious Song family mansion described by Village Chief Zhang.

"The Song family compound is just around the corner."

"I'm sitting in the passenger seat," said Village Chief Zhang, turning around with a slightly nervous voice.

To be honest, this village chief Zhang really didn't want to come along. He knew Su Jianguo's background, and if it were exposed, his group would at least get a beating.

Su Jianguo straightened his suit and tie, his eyes resolute.

"Uncle Zhang, don't worry, just proceed according to plan."

As the car rounded a bend, the sight before him made Su Jianguo raise an eyebrow.

What comes into view is a large compound with high walls.

It stands abruptly in the center of the village, with a wall three meters high, and broken glass stuck in it.

Two enormous stone lions squat in front of the gate. Although they are old, they still show the imposing grandeur of the government office in its heyday.

The gate was a heavy, red-lacquered wooden door, studded with copper nails that gleamed in the sunlight.

"That's it."

Village Chief Zhang explained carefully.

"Those stone lions were stolen from the county government office by Song Tieshan and his men during a special period, and they were always placed in front of his house as a show of force."

Su Jianguo sneered and said to the driver, Lao Li.

"Drive straight to the main gate."
