If given another chance at life, how would you choose?

111 getting ready for school
Upon hearing Li Lin's report, Li Wei jumped out of bed with renewed energy, quickly wiped her face, and ran downstairs. Li Lin secretly followed her.
Luo Dazheng and Li Lianhui were talking in a corner of the living room when Li Wei ran over, smiling brightly: "Oh my, Luo Jianhua is here! When did you arrive? Have you had breakfast yet? Oh, by the way, my grandpa is in the factory in the back. Have you gone to see him? He said he misses you and hasn't come for several days."
Luo Da felt a little flattered. It seemed like he hadn't paid much attention to her during the trip; the change was too fast. But he liked this change.
The photos from the trip have been developed, and Luo Da handed the bag of photos to Li Wei. After saying a few more words, he drifted off to the backyard to greet the old man, feeling slightly dizzy.
Li Wei secretly made a victory sign behind her back. "You little brat, I'll show you what you're made of! There's always someone more capable than you, and I'll teach you a lesson you can never learn."
To be honest, ignoring the curly-haired rat's unappealing appearance, the photography skills were still quite acceptable. Li Wei and Li Lin lay on the bed looking at the photos for a long time, and unanimously felt that this guy had made everyone look much prettier in the photos than in person. He also handled the candid expressions and atmosphere very well. Li Wei immediately decided that she would go to his photo studio to have an artistic photo taken when she had time.
Of course, Li Lin couldn't miss this opportunity, and she excitedly shouted that she wanted to go too.
When the old man saw Luo Da arrive, he found a room and whispered with Luo Da for a long time. Luo Da left with a solemn expression.
When Li Wei found out, she laughed so hard she almost fell over, and immediately ran to ask the old man what was going on.
Seeing Li Wei's eagerness, Grandpa Cheng said, "Girl, why are you so happy? You seem quite concerned about that boy!" Could it be that this girl has also taken a liking to that boy?
Li Wei nodded vigorously: "Grandpa, I was just thinking that if Luo Jianhua becomes successful, we might be able to benefit from it. You always say he's promising, and I'm just showing my appreciation for his talent. Tell me, Grandpa, what did you say to him that made him act like he was going to take the college entrance exam?"
It's nothing really. The old man wanted to go to Shandong to see his comrade-in-arms, a martial arts master descended from Liangshan, for guidance. He felt his own abilities were limited, so he asked Luo Da to go home and discuss it with his parents to see if they were interested. Luo Da himself was quite eager to go.
Li Wei thought that Luo Sanjiu, who was known for his vulgar and violent nature, would definitely agree. Luo Sanjiu's aunt's opinion could be ignored. Luo Da's busy days were just around the corner, hehe.
Luo Da didn't have time to bother her for the time being. She could finally start living her own life. She didn't need her aunt to help her buy books anymore. Li Wei happily went to the bookstore the next day.
I originally wanted to invite Li Lin to come along, so she could share some of the weight and let Ya be immersed in a scholarly atmosphere. But this girl said she had made plans to come see the photos with her classmates and wouldn't go.
It's pointless to go alone. Zhou Xiaoyan went to visit relatives. Wu Feng hasn't returned yet either. Yang Liqiu... I'd better not.
Upon arriving at the bookstore, Li Wei thoroughly looted two large bags of books. She didn't even go to her aunt's place. It was all a chaotic mess anyway. It wasn't the end of the month or anything; there weren't many reports to look at. She shouldn't worry about it unnecessarily.
Li Wei took a taxi to bring the books home. Without even resting after eating a little something, she spread the books all over the living room floor and started organizing them. She categorized them into piles and then busied herself carrying them upstairs to her room like an ant carrying food. Just then, Uncle Luo and Luo Da arrived.
Li Wei greeted Uncle Luo and was about to call her parents when Uncle Luo interrupted her.
He seemed to be in a good mood. Seeing Li Wei carrying a stack of books, he laughed and said, "Oh, Xiaoming, not bad, not bad. Girls should read more books; it will make them smarter. Hmm, not bad... What are you looking at, kid? Go and help her. Don't you have any sense?"
Luo Sanjiu's gaze made Li Wei feel uneasy, as if she were his family. She quickly changed the subject: "Third Uncle, are you looking for my maternal grandfather or my father? I'll go and call them for you."
"No need, I'll go myself. I need to talk to the old man about something. You two go have fun." Uncle Luo waved his hand with a smile and went to the backyard.
With free labor available, Li Wei simply arranged the books upstairs, letting Luo Da handle it all by himself. Watching Luo Da quickly bring all the books up, Li Wei casually asked him, as he automatically sat down on the sofa, "What brings you here, Third Uncle?"
Luo Da didn't act like an outsider at all. He picked up the glass of water Li Wei had poured for him from the bedside table and gulped it down before finally speaking: "Well, it was about discussing whether I should continue learning kung fu."
Continuing to arrange the books: "Oh, so what are your plans?"
"I'll follow the old man's arrangements. He's thinking of me. My dad's idea is for me to go with him and see what's going on. I think it's a good idea." Only a fool wouldn't try to find a master.
Li Wei said solemnly, "Yes, that's right. A person needs to have some ambition. What kind of future can you have if you just eat, drink, and have fun all day? A real man must endure hardship to rise above others. A sharp sword is forged through tempering, and the fragrance of plum blossoms comes from bitter cold. There is a path to the mountain of books, and diligence is the way; the sea of learning is boundless, and hard work is the boat. One should not forget the importance of studying hard in youth..."
"You seem to really want me to go out and seek out a master..." Luo Da interrupted Li Wei's motivational speech, stroking his chin.
Li Wei immediately said, "What are you talking about? I think a man should be self-reliant, stand tall and become a pillar of society. If you don't work hard when you're young, you'll regret it when you're old... Well, I just think this opportunity of yours is quite rare. My grandfather keeps saying that you have extraordinary talent and unique wisdom, and that you are a martial arts prodigy who is rare in a century. You should cherish it and not waste it."
Li Wei suddenly realized that she was quite cultured, with a whole set of inspirational quotes; how come she hadn't noticed it before?
Luo Da's eyes darted around, glancing at Li Wei for a moment, then thinking for a while, and then...
Li Wei pretended to be busy, thinking to herself that too much talk leads to mistakes, and she seemed to have said too much. How could she forget that anyone who thinks Luo Da is naive is the one who's naive? Look, this guy seems suspicious.
That very evening, Grandpa Cheng announced that he would be going to Shandong the next day. He had figured out that the food factory would be the same whether he was there or not, so he might as well take the opportunity to go out and see his old comrades and the place where he served in the army. He didn't know how many more years he had left to live, and every visit would be one less.
Cheng Min and the old lady discussed it. They felt it would be good for the old man to go out for a walk. Anyway, he was in good health and there was no need to worry about him. Besides, Luo Da was with him, so he would have someone to run errands and serve him. There was nothing to worry about. That night, the old lady packed his luggage. He only needed a small bag, as the old man didn't want to carry anything more. He just needed to bring enough money.
Actually, the old man didn't need to make any arrangements. Uncle Luo arrived early the next morning, having already taken care of the tickets, travel expenses, and everything else needed for the journey. He even wanted to send someone to escort the two of them along the way, but the old man refused. "Two grown men," he said, "not women. Why would we need an escort? It would be too inconvenient."
And so, Uncle Luo took the old man away. He said he had arranged a sleeper berth on the train that afternoon, and told Cheng Min and Li Zhaoxing not to worry.
Watching Uncle Luo's car disappear into the distance, Li Wei breathed a sigh of relief. She had finally put Luo Da on the road to self-improvement and continuous struggle. She had done a good deed.
Li Wei had some free time again. Besides doing some housework and looking after Ding Ding, she spent her time at home doing beauty treatments, reading, and listening to music. Sometimes she would go to Zhou Xiaoyan's house to play. Later, Wu Feng also came back. The three of them, along with Li Lin, would occasionally go shopping at the mall and found Curly Mouse's photo studio, where they took many artistic photos. They also visited Xu Shouchun's Shouchun Restaurant.
Li Wei discovered that Shouchunlou was less than 50 meters away from the new factory site of her and her aunt's company, which was indeed quite close.
The admission notice for No. 1 High School has arrived, while Li Lin's admission notice for regular high school will arrive a few days later.
Li Wei looked at the palm-sized notice from left to right. It was such a small thing, but she had spent three years trying to get her hands on it. It wasn't easy.
As for Li Lianhui, he didn't even glance at her and went about his business. Watching Li Lianhui ride off on his bicycle with his classmates, Li Wei couldn't help but exclaim how cool he was!
This kid doesn't care much about anything, he just plays all day, but he doesn't neglect his responsibilities much either. You have to admire him.
By the time school started on August 26th, Li Wei had almost finished reviewing the first-year high school textbooks and felt it was going well. She had decided to choose humanities as her elective in her second year. As for first-year physics and chemistry, she figured she could just get through the high school entrance exams without spending too much effort on them.
The old man hasn't come back yet, but he called home a few times to let them know he's safe and sound. His old comrade-in-arms has been found, and things are going smoothly. He should be able to come back before the start of the semester at Luo University.
As early as after the admission scores were released, Cheng Min had discussed the schooling of the three children with her younger sister, Cheng Fei. Now that the Li family was a wealthy family, Cheng Min did not want Li Wei and the others to live in the crowded and simple dormitory that her sister had lived in back then. She did not think that harsh conditions could temper the children's will. Her family was well-off, and the children were still ambitious, which was obvious to all.
Cheng Min didn't say it, but she was secretly pleased.
Let's find out who's the richest family in town right now.
Old Li's family.
Whose child is the best at studying?
Old Li's family.
Whose child is the prettiest?
Old Li's family (this is the land that Cheng Min granted herself).
So even though her husband didn't quite agree, Cheng Min still discussed with her sister about buying a house in the city for the children to live in and hiring a nanny to take care of their daily lives. Anyway, the children were all quite sensible, and their aunt lived nearby, so there was nothing to worry about.
Li Wei and Li Lianhui are in a better position, as they both attend the same school in the eastern part of the city, which is the city center. Li Lin, however, is in a more troublesome position, as she is in the western part of the city.
Later, Ding Anping came up with a solution. With Li Wei and Li Lianhui as the main caregivers, and to make it convenient for Li Lin to take the bus to school, they chose a three-bedroom house with two sunny rooms and one shady room near the high school. There was a bus line right outside that went directly to Li Lin's school. Ding Anping helped buy the house and found a renovation company to decorate it.
The house was finished in mid-August. Since it was just going to be used as a dormitory, Li Wei didn't think much of it. She and Li Lin went to the renovation site once to choose the colors and textures of the building materials, and then didn't go back. Now that it's completed, Li Wei and Li Lin went to the furniture market with their mother to choose furniture, mainly beds, bookshelves, desks, bedding, home appliances, and kitchenware. They were surprised by how much they bought.
Li Wei and Li Lin found it quite amusing, but Cheng Min was exhausted. She felt like she was hosting three weddings for her children at once.
Parents' hearts are always full of love and worry. Although they were tired, Cheng Min and Li Zhaoxing were still very happy. Many people want to be tired but don't even have the chance.
People should know how to be content.
