Rebirth as a Little Nanny

If given another chance at life, how would you choose?

My plan: First, make myself look stunningly beautiful. Then secure a comfortable stable job, preferably a golden rice bowl. Finally, pur...

302 So-called maturity

Xu Ting wasn't wearing that crop top; Li Wei helped her find a well-fitting outfit that could be worn both casually and for work: a short-sleeved top and wide-leg pants in off-white, which made her look very energetic.

Xu Ting, being taller than Li Wei, exuded a refreshing and neat vibe, while Li Wei's outfit made her appear more elegant and charming.

Seeing that it was getting dark, Li Wei was a little worried about Xu Ting taking a taxi by herself. After thinking about it, she figured that since she had nothing else to do, she might as well take Xu Ting there and take the three little devils out for a drive.

The three little devils were overjoyed and ran over to tug at Li Wei's clothes and arms, especially the little girl: "Mommy, Mommy, I want to go to McDonald's!"

Royroll: "I want to go too! I want to go too!"

Li Wei -_-

The three children and Aunt Gao sat in the back seat. Li Wei drove, and Xu Ting sat in the passenger seat. Li Wei first dropped Xu Ting off at the hotel where she was going to work. After dropping Xu Ting off, she took the children to McDonald's.

Taking the kids out is always Li Wei's biggest headache. One wants a drink, another wants ice cream, and yet another wants toys. It's simply chaotic and overwhelming.

After they bought the food and started eating, the situation became even more serious. Roy spilled the water, and Roll got salad dressing on the little girl. The little girl started yelling that she wanted to hit her brother.

Li Wei felt overwhelmed, but luckily she brought Aunt Gao with her. Aunt Gao was a worldly woman now and had plenty of experience dealing with three kids.

With one hand, she wiped the water Roy spilled, and with the other, she wiped the salad dressing off the little girl. As for Luo Er, his mother slapped him on the bottom. The little guy was used to it and even gave Li Wei a cheeky smile. His expression and demeanor were so familiar!

Li Wei only remembered after she got on the bus and went home. Damn. Wasn't he just like her uncle, Luo Er? It's truly a past she doesn't want to recall.

Thinking back to the days of playing with Luo Er and Luo San. Those were truly simple and happy days. It feels like just yesterday.

The three little ones, who were making a lot of noise when we got home, all lay down and fell asleep in the car.

Li Wei drove the car to her front door. She got out and was about to reach for her child in the back seat when suddenly everything went dark. A person appeared before her. Startled, she looked up. Although it was quite dark, she could still make out who it was by the light of the streetlights. Wasn't that Liao Kaiwen?

Li Wei's first thought was, "This is fucking romantic." Too bad she'd already experienced that kind of romance. No matter how handsome a guy was in front of her, it was all for naught.

She ignored him. It didn't really matter anyway. She opened the car door again and took out the little girl. Aunt Gao had already gotten out of the car carrying the sleeping Luo Er. Li Wei saw Luo Yi still sleeping in the car and, worried, said to Liao Kaiwen, who was standing to the side, "Don't just stand there. Help out. There's another one in the car."

Liao Kaiwen was stunned as he watched the two women carry the children out one by one, and Li Wei even told him that there were more!

Driven by curiosity, I peeked into the car and sure enough, there was a little baby sleeping soundly with drool drooling.

Li Wei grew impatient: "What are you looking at? Haven't you ever seen a baby before? Hurry up and bring it out. If you can't carry it, then forget it."

If you really can't carry him, can you even be considered a man?

Liao Kaiwen, both amused and exasperated, picked up Luo Yi. Having never taken care of a child before, he suddenly realized that babies are such soft and adorable creatures, just look at their faces, little noses, arms, and legs.

Sister Wei opened the door, and Liao Kaiwen, the temporary laborer she had just brought in, followed her in. The three of them first took the children to the nursery. Sister Wei took the child from Liao Kaiwen's hands, quickly changed Roy's clothes, and then put him in his crib to sleep.

Li Wei and Aunt Gao followed the same method, and soon the three little ones were lying in a row on their little beds, fast asleep.

I touched them one by one.

Since he was a guest, Li Wei gestured for Liao Kaiwen to sit down and wait for her. Aunt Gao had already poured tea, and Liao Kaiwen didn't stand on ceremony. He held the teacup, looking around at the decorations in the room, and slowly strolled around while drinking.

I stood in front of a large photo of Li Wei's family of five.

Li Wei went out, parked the car in the garage, turned off the engine, and went back inside.

Liao Kaiwen was still looking at the photos when she grabbed a bottle of water and went over to explain, "That's my husband. We've known each other since we were little."

Liao Kaiwen nodded. He knew most of what Li Wei was going on, which was hard for him to believe. If he hadn't seen it with his own eyes today, he would have thought that his assistant, who was gathering information, was not doing his job properly and had actually lied to him. Was this really not China? How could such a thing happen? It was too unbelievable.

Now, looking at the photos and the three children, he couldn't help but believe it and stop deceiving himself. However, he was still very depressed and turned to Li Wei to ask, "Why get married and have children so early? Have you had enough of being single?"

Li Wei smiled and said, "Do you feel that life is something you can choose?"

Liao Kaiwen tilted his head: "Isn't that right? At least so far, it's all been my own choice. Don't tell me you actually had no choice but to get married and have children?"

Li Wei slowly walked to the sofa and sat down. After a moment's thought, she said, "At least part of it is true. Tell me, can I choose my family, my parents, my siblings, and my neighbors?"

She paused, then, seeing Liao Kaiwen sitting opposite her, continued, "No, my husband is my childhood neighbor. We lived together for many years, and then, without realizing it, I fell in love with him, and he fell in love with me too. Do you think we had a choice? If we did, then this is our choice. As for the child, it's a reward that comes with love, but I feel it's more like a punishment. Only when they're both asleep do they look like little angels offering a reward."

Liao Kaiwen smiled wryly: "Your reward is quite generous, so much, like the reward for my sheepdog Bessie."

Li Wei was embarrassed: "You really don't know how to talk. You've received a Western education, how can you talk like that? It makes me sound like I'm abnormal. You should say, 'Ah! God is so merciful!'"

Liao Kaiwen realized he had misspoke. Although he regarded Bessie as a human being, it didn't mean she could be compared to someone else. He quickly tried to salvage the situation: "Ah! God is so merciful! He sent you so many angels!"

Li Wei continued awkwardly, "Please don't emphasize the word 'more' to me, okay? I'm a little allergic to that word."

Liao Kaiwen realized he couldn't get anywhere with this topic, so he quickly changed the subject: "By the way, where's your husband? I haven't seen him."

Li Wei thought to herself, "You little brat, you still want to see him? You don't know what death means."

But he still had a smile on his face: "He's away on a business trip. Do you need to see him?"

Liao Kaiwen was both amused and exasperated: "No, no, I just wanted to see what this lucky gentleman was like, that he would be fortunate enough to marry you."

Li Wei chuckled inwardly, thinking, "Such a hypocrite."

"He looks better in the photo than in the picture. He's not photogenic, but he's actually quite handsome. Look at this photo of him holding two kids, doesn't he look like a gangster who's kidnapped two children?"

Liao Kaiwen couldn't help but laugh and nod: "Haha, I did have that thought back then, haha."

In an instant, the atmosphere became harmonious.

More than half an hour later, I saw Liao Kaiwen off. He also lived in this neighborhood. It is said that his company has invested in this area, so he stayed here during his business trip.

At this point, the two were basically like friends, at least on the surface.

Li Wei breathed a sigh of relief. It seemed like she had gotten it over with. Mature men are really scary. They're like a frog being slowly boiled in water, their words so soothing.

It seems that her previous ideal of finding a mature and stable husband who is six or seven years older than her actually had a basis in reality.
