Rebirth: Bringing a Golden Finger to Farm

Ordinary office worker Tang Xiaoxiao was unexpectedly reborn, returning to ten years ago when she had just graduated from college and had not yet been worn down by society.

Chapter Three: Returning Home

Over the next two days, Tang Xiaoxiao was busy packing her luggage, storing most of it into her spatial storage, leaving only a few books and clothes outside as a token gesture. It's common knowledge that every graduation season, senior students dispose of a large amount of their old belongings, from bedding to rackets, so she wasn't worried that her parents would find it strange that she had so few things—she just sold them all!

However, Tang Xiaoxiao didn't deal with anything. She was a sentimental person and had kept all her textbooks and extracurricular reading materials very well. When she graduated and went home in her previous life, she couldn't bear to throw anything away. The trunk of the car her father drove almost couldn't fit all of Tang Xiaoxiao's luggage, which made her father nag her a lot.

On Thursday morning, Tang Xiaoxiao successfully received her graduation certificate. After saying goodbye to the teachers and classmates who were still at school, her parents' car, which was there to pick her up, stopped outside the small gate of the girls' dormitory building.

The journey from their home to the school took more than six hours, and the elderly couple had gotten up at dawn to set off, which was why they arrived at school so early. Thinking of this, Tang Xiaoxiao's nose stung again, and she once more fiercely cursed her ungrateful self from her past life.

Carrying simple and light luggage, Tang Xiaoxiao almost ran towards her mother who was standing by the car, threw herself into her mother's arms, and said in a choked voice, "Mom, I missed you so much."

Tang's mother gently patted Tang Xiaoxiao's back, while Tang's father watched with a sour expression, frowning and saying, "Such a big girl, yet she's so impetuous."

Tang Xiaoxiao made a face at her father. He was a typical Chinese patriarch, always wearing a stern face and rarely saying anything agreeable, but his love for his children was unquestionable. When Tang Xiaoxiao was little, she was a little afraid of her always stern-faced father, but as she grew up, she saw through his paper tiger mask. Compared to her mother's nagging, Tang Xiaoxiao preferred to stick close to her father.

"Mom and Dad, have you eaten yet? You must be hungry. Let's go eat first."

Tang Xiaoxiao helped her parents into the car.

The family of three left the school, found a mid-range restaurant, enjoyed a delicious lunch, and then began their journey home. When paying the bill, Tang's mother couldn't help but mutter cautiously, "Things in this big city are really expensive." Tang's mother had been frugal her whole life, never willing to spend a penny more than necessary on herself, except for her two daughters. The price of just one dish at this restaurant was enough for her entire day's meals at home, and she was heartbroken.

Tang Xiaoxiao nodded slightly, but didn't say much; now wasn't the right time. She had her own plans, but she would discuss everything after returning home.

Tang Xiaoxiao cracked jokes along the way, trying to recall funny stories from school to tell her parents, making the long journey not too boring.

She had no regrets about leaving university. As a mediocre student who had just coasted through her academic career, she had limited feelings for her alma mater. Moreover, after experiencing ten years in her previous life, being reborn and leaving again immediately, Tang Xiaoxiao's memories of campus life were already blurred, and she couldn't even remember the names of some classmates she wasn't very familiar with.

So on the way back, watching the familiar yet unfamiliar scenery disappear little by little, Tang Xiaoxiao didn't feel much loss, but rather a great deal of excitement.

If she could do it all over again, she believed she would lead a completely different and wonderful life.

***********************************************

After a long drive, it was already dark when they arrived home. The family of three were exhausted. They quickly cooked some noodles and ate, and Tang Xiaoxiao made an excuse that she was too tired and wanted to rest early, so she went to her room.

After locking the door, Tang Xiaoxiao slipped into the space. Even though she had prepared herself mentally, she was still shocked by the sight before her. She had randomly selected some seeds from the flower and bird market and buried them in the soil for experiments, but now, after only a day and a night, the area where she had buried the seeds was blooming with flowers, and some vines had even spread out and covered a large area.

Most of these seeds are common varieties that have short growth cycles and are easy to cultivate. However, in the real world, it would take several months or even longer for them to germinate, bloom, or fill a pot. Yet, they have blossomed overnight!

In the far corner, there was a small patch of land where Tang Xiaoxiao had watered some of the pond to experiment with. The effect was even somewhat terrifying, because the plants had obviously mutated. They grew exceptionally tall and lush, and their leaves and flowers had enlarged several times over and were unusually vibrant. The roses were as big as a large bowl, and the enormous sunflowers seemed to be able to envelop her.

Clearly, this land has a growth-promoting effect on plants, and the pool water can further optimize the genes of plants and animals. Tang Xiaoxiao watered it a bit too much, which has resulted in the terrifying effect we see today.

Even greater surprises awaited her. Tang Xiaoxiao looked around and discovered that the land area seemed to have expanded. Although she hadn't measured it, it was visibly much larger, and the white mist had retreated several meters. So, was it because she had sown those seeds? Could the space expand beyond its current size?

Suppressing her doubts and excitement, Tang Xiaoxiao resignedly squatted down and began to work. No matter what, she had to deal with these wildly growing plants first, otherwise, if they were allowed to multiply, there might not even be room to step in this space!

Tang Xiaoxiao transforms into a flower-destroying expert, uprooting clusters of flowers in her hands in a brutal scene.

After an unknown amount of time, the area was finally completely cleaned up, and a small mountain of debris piled up beside her. Tang Xiaoxiao was so exhausted that she collapsed onto the ground.

Why can others access their spaces with a single thought and a click, while she has to painstakingly do it herself?

If she plants more and more things and the space really gets bigger and bigger, what should she do? It would be a waste to leave the black soil, which has the effect of promoting growth, empty. But she can't manage so much land by herself with her two hands, even if she works day and night!

Tang Xiaoxiao felt like crying when she thought about the difficulties she might face in the future, and even her expectations for the space to be upgraded diminished considerably.

This feeling is like a young child suddenly possessing a large piece of gold. Even though they know it's valuable and can be exchanged for many things, they don't know how to spend it.

There's nothing we can do but take it one step at a time.

Tang Xiaoxiao emerged from the space looking disheveled and checked the time; only half an hour had passed. Although she hadn't timed things inside the space, she felt like she had been busy for at least several hours, indicating that the flow of time inside the space was different from that outside.

After quickly tidying up her hair and face and changing out of her tattered clothes, Tang Xiaoxiao put on a nightgown and opened the bedroom door. Her mother was watching TV in the living room. Seeing that she was holding a few pieces of clothing, she casually said, "Put them in the laundry basket. I'll wash them all tomorrow."

Tang Xiaoxiao dared not agree; her clothes were covered in mud, and it would be strange if her mother saw it and became suspicious.

"No need, I'll take a shower when I'm showering." With that, he hurriedly went into the bathroom.

After taking a nice, warm bath and washing and hanging up her parents' two dirty clothes, Tang Xiaoxiao collapsed onto the bed and fell asleep almost immediately.
