Chapter Thirty-Nine Negotiation

IBM's negotiators thought Wang Anshi was feigning retreat to advance, but little did they know that Wujiang Company truly had no intention of cooperating with IBM.

As Wang Anshi and his entourage walked out the door, Kyle Henry sneered and said to his colleagues, "You'll see. If nothing unexpected happens, Wujiang Company will send someone to our company to negotiate again. Just wait and see..."

In a budget hotel near IBM.

Liu Chuanzhi and his colleagues have been there for two days, but IBM has not yet contacted them to discuss the IBM-PC agency.

"Old Liu, IBM has been leaving us hanging here. What's going on? I'm so bored!" a colleague complained.

"IBM is probably still negotiating with Wujiang. We'll only be next when they can't reach an agreement..." Liu Chuanzhi replied, much calmer than his colleague, showing a clear awareness of being a backup option. At that moment, he was peeling an apple with a fruit knife, his technique excellent, peeling from one end to the other, leaving a long strip of peel hanging from the peel.

A week later.

The IBM agent conference is almost over.

At this point, no one from Wujiang had been seen coming to negotiate.

"Henry, didn't you say Wujiang would send someone to negotiate? What time is it and they still haven't arrived?"

The negotiating team looked at Kyle Henry.

Kyle Henry's face flushed red with embarrassment. He was genuinely puzzled as to why Wujiang had stopped sending anyone to discuss the IBM-PC distribution rights.

“This might be a negotiation tactic employed by Wujiang Company. In Chinese terms, it’s like ‘feigning ignorance,’ meaning they want to be the distributor for IBM PC, but they pretend they don’t, using a retreat as a means to advance, thus getting us to compromise first,” Kyle Henry explained.

"Henry, you even know Chinese idioms? Impressive!" Everyone was surprised and praised him.

Kyle Henry was secretly pleased and laughed, "You flatter me!"

The group was still joking around, unaware that Wujiang Group was truly no longer planning to distribute IBM PCs. At that very moment, Wang Anshi and his team had already arrived at HP's headquarters for the second time...
