Rebirth in '82: The Foolish Village Guardian's Mountain Life

Every village would have one or two "village guardians." They were often simple-minded and foolish, yet kind-hearted.

The older generation often said that village guardians came to th...

Chapter 106: The Man Knocked Down the Hill by a Wild Boar

Chen Wang and Chen Dazhuang did not bring dogs this time and walked at the end of the team on the way to the mountains.

The road into the mountain is a gravel road in the first half, and the rest is a mud road.

After the rain, the road became even more muddy and difficult to walk on.

The team's forward speed is very limited.

Chen Dazhuang grumbled several times, complaining about these police officers' recklessness and making them go to the mountains in the rain to catch criminals.

"I think today's work is in vain again."

"Okay, stop talking."

Chen Wang said comfortingly with a smile.

"Awang, you're not angry at all?"

Chen Dazhuang looked at him curiously.

"Since you have decided to join, just have a positive attitude and do what you are supposed to do."

Chen Wang smiled and said.

"I can't do what you do anyway."

Chen Dazhuang curled his lips.

"Da Zhuang, A Wang, what are you doing? Hurry up and catch up."

Chen Jianjun in front looked back at the two of them and urged them.

"Here I come, Master!"

Chen Wang responded loudly and pushed Chen Dazhuang to quicken his pace to catch up.

After finally entering the mountain, the police officers and Doctor Zhang had exhausted most of their energy and were gasping for breath from exhaustion.

Chen Wang and Chen Dazhuang both looked normal.

Even Chen Jianjun, who had a lame leg, looked much better than the other police officers.

The rain had subsided a lot, so the group found a big tree with lush branches and leaves and took shelter under it to rest.

"Comrade Awang, you have really good physical strength!"

Officer Liang complimented him with a smile.

Chen Wang smiled and said, "After all, we make a living in the mountains. Walking up and down the mountain is a common occurrence."

"It's not easy for you to make a living by hunting!"

Officer Liang said with some emotion.

After everyone recovered some strength, the young police officer Chen spoke again.

"Captain, let's split up and act like we did yesterday!"

"Then be careful. We'll use this as the meeting point. Try not to run too far. If anything happens, shoot. We'll rush over when we hear the sound."

Officer Liang gave a warning.

Officer Chen didn't say anything, just nodded lightly, glanced at Chen Wang, and called Officer Shao to leave together.

Chen Wang noticed that the other person's eyes were filled with hostility and he was a little confused.

It seems that I didn't provoke this police officer!

"Then let's continue searching!"

Officer Liang said to everyone.

This time, everyone chose a different route to search from yesterday.

It is difficult to walk in the mountains and forests after the rain, especially in areas where few people pass by.

Chen Wang and Chen Dazhuang walked to the front and took turns holding axes to clear the way.

Chen Dazhuang was right. After about two hours, the group still had no results.

The rain started to get heavier again.

"Bang!!!"

Suddenly, a gunshot was heard from far away, followed by several more gunshots.

“Bang! Bang!”

"That's the sound of a gun, Captain. Officer Chen and the others may be in trouble."

Officer Zhai said with a serious expression.

Officer Liang nodded, looked at Chen Wang and the others and said, "Comrades, we have to rush to the direction of the gunshots."

Chen Wang and the other three naturally had no objections.

So, several people quickly walked towards the direction where the gunshots came from.

Except for Chen Wang and Chen Dazhuang, the others also took turns taking the hatchets and clearing the way ahead.

After about ten minutes, the group arrived at a hillside.

"Xiao Chen, Xiao Shao, are you there?"

Officer Liang shouted loudly.

"Officer Chen, Officer Shao!"

"Officer Chen, Officer Shao!!!"

Chen Wang and others followed suit and shouted.

However, no response was received.

This cast a shadow over the hearts of several people. They subconsciously felt that the surroundings were becoming fraught with danger and looked around vigilantly.

Several people had similar thoughts in their minds.

It's possible that the two police officers ran into the two murderers and then met with some accident.

"Look there!"

Chen Wang pointed to the ground in front of him.

When everyone looked over, they saw human footprints on the wet ground.

Obviously, this should be left by the two police officers.

What frightened them was that there were not only human footprints, but also dense footprints left by animals.

Chen Jianjun quickly stepped forward, squatted down and took a closer look, then turned around and said, "These are the footprints of a wild boar, and it was a big one. Judging from the footprints, it seems that the wild boar was chasing the two police officers."

Upon hearing this, Officer Liang and Officer Zhai both looked stunned.

"Captain Liang, is that you? We are here!"

Suddenly, a weak voice came from the bottom of the hill.

When they looked down, they saw that the hillside was very steep and there were weeds growing everywhere below, blocking their view.

"Xiao Shao? Are you guys down there?"

Captain Liang asked loudly.

"Yes, Captain, we are here. Officer Chen is injured. Please send Doctor Zhang down to save him."

Officer Shao replied in an anxious voice.

"Okay, don't worry, we'll be down right away."

Captain Liang quickly agreed.

"It's almost clear now. Apparently these two were driven here by wild boars. They were either knocked down or they were not paying attention and slipped and rolled down."

Chen Dazhuang expressed his thoughts in a joking tone.

He was not stupid and could sense the attitude of the young police officer Chen towards them.
