Rebirth in the 60s: Female Tycoon

Yun Duo was hit by a giant egg that fell from the sky and transported to another world's 1960s. Upon opening her eyes, she was about to be sold as a child bride to a fool. After narrowly escapi...

Chapter 84 The Town

Because they spent some time looking for mushrooms, and with an elderly person and a child walking slowly, Yun Duo and her companions didn't arrive in town until late morning, around ten o'clock, judging by the sun. The weather was hot, and everyone was busy, so the market was already sparsely populated.

"Are you tired, Duo'er? Are you hungry? After Grandpa sells the stuff, I'll buy you steamed buns, okay?" Yun Dazheng coaxed Yun Duo softly as he took out the pheasant, mushrooms, and honeycomb.

"Okay, Grandpa, I'm not hungry."

Yun Duo was preoccupied with observing the town and didn't pay much attention to Yun Dazheng's words. She simply replied casually, her eyes darting around as she looked at the houses and people in the town, trying to assess the era and environment she was living in.

The market is located at the entrance of the town, on the first street after entering the town. The road is paved with bluestone slabs, but perhaps because it hasn't been repaired for a long time, many of the slabs are broken.

The street was lined with shops, which were higher than the street level. Some shops had three long stone steps in front, while others had only one. Farmers who came to town to sell their goods would set up their stalls next to the steps and sit on the stone steps, using carrying poles or other objects as cushions.

Most of these houses are wooden houses with blue tiles on the roof, but you can tell that they are old houses that haven't been properly repaired in a long time.

The people in the town were dressed slightly better than those in the village, but not by much; their clothes were mostly worn out, with occasional inconspicuous patches on easily worn areas. Clearly, it wasn't just the village that was poor; the people in the town weren't doing too well either.

However, some were dressed very smartly.

Yun Duo saw a well-dressed, somewhat slick-haired young man walking out of the town with two men who clearly looked like lackeys.

Two lackeys stood half a step behind the young man, fanning him with fans on either side. The young man would occasionally turn his head to look at the contents of the farmers' baskets or hampers, shaking his head and pursing his lips in obvious disdain. Sometimes he would even kick the baskets or hampers.

The sellers didn't dare to say a word, and the people around seemed used to it. Moreover, those who were still buying things would subconsciously avoid those few people.

He doesn't seem like a good person.

However, what interested Yun Duo was the young man's attire. A shirt, dress pants, leather shoes, and hair gel—a fairly modern look, except that the shirt wasn't tucked in; it was loosely hanging out.

The young man felt Yun Duo's gaze on him, followed it, and seeing that Yun Duo's eyes remained unblinking, he chuckled and said to her in a flippant tone, "Little girl, why are you staring at me like that? Are you captivated by my handsome and dashing appearance?"

Yun Duo couldn't help but roll her eyes.

"Hey, that's really bold, interesting." Seeing that Yun Duo was not afraid of him, the young man found it amusing and swayed as he walked towards Yun Duo.

Yun Duo wasn't afraid, but Yun Dazheng was frantic. He pulled Yun Duo behind him, pressed her head down, and then humbly said to the young man with a smile, "Young Master Lin, I'm really sorry. It's the child's first time going out, and she doesn't know any better. Please be magnanimous and don't hold it against her."

The young man completely ignored Yun Dazheng, simply raising his chin and saying to the clouds behind Yun Dazheng, "I'm asking you, little girl, are you bewitched by me?"
