Chapter Ninety-Two: Old Master Yu is Ill (1/2)

Just then, Yu Zhenzhen, carrying a medicine bag, slowly walked into the ward. Her gaze swept over everyone in the ward, first landing on Xiao Hong and Yu Wan, who were standing in front of Old Man Yu's bed, seemingly crying. Lin Jin, sitting in a chair by the window, looked on with amusement, a faint smile playing on her lips.

Seeing this, Yu Zhenzhen felt a wave of speechlessness wash over her. She quickly walked to her father's bedside, placed the medicine packet on the table beside him, and said, "Father, I've asked someone to prepare the medicine. I'll bring it over in a bit." Seeing her father's ashen face, Yu Zhenzhen knew what had happened without him saying a word.

Yu Zhenzhen's disgust for her sister-in-law intensified. She recalled the accident from many years ago; if it weren't for her sister-in-law, her second brother and sister-in-law might not have been in that accident, and Yu Qi and Yu Hao wouldn't have lost their parents at such a young age.

That year, Yu Zhenzhen was still immersed in the pain of losing Li Qiang, unable to pull herself out of it. However, fate played a cruel joke on her; her second brother and sister-in-law both died in a sudden accident, leaving behind five-year-old Yu Qi and Yu Hao. That day was undoubtedly a huge disaster for the Yu family.

Yu Zhenzhen will never forget that scene: two children lost their father and mother on the same day, their innocent and pitiful appearance deeply piercing her heart. For so many years, the Yu family has kept her around largely because they didn't want Yu Wan and Yu Liang to lose their mother's love like Yu Qi and Yu Hao.

"Sister-in-law, Father's fine here. You can take Wanwan back." His tone was harsh because of his dislike.

Xiao Hong's hatred surged like a volcano, but she dared not utter a single harsh word in front of Old Master Yu. Suppressing her resentment, she tightly grasped Yu Wan's hand and quickly left the ward.

Yu Wan also harbored resentment towards Xiao Hong, but she knew her grandfather's attitude towards her mother. Since she could remember, her grandfather had never given her mother a kind look. As for that aunt, she was an outsider; not only did she live in the house, but she always had a cold and unapproachable demeanor.

After Xiao Hong stormed off, Grandpa Yu looked at Lin Jin somewhat awkwardly and said apologetically, "Xiao Jin, that was your aunt. That's just how she is. Don't take it to heart and just ignore her."

Lin Jin's lips curled up slightly, and she deliberately dragged out her words, asking, "Oh, Auntie! So she's Auntie!"

Seeing this, Yu Zhenzhen quickly interjected, "What, Xiao Jin, have you met your aunt?"

Lin Jin replied casually, "Of course I've seen her. Not only have I seen her, she even had someone follow me! Why do you think she followed me?"

Lin Jin's words shocked both Grandpa Yu and Yu Zhenzhen. They exclaimed in unison, "She followed you? Are you alright?"

Hearing Lin Jin's answer, Yu Zhenzhen's doubts deepened. She couldn't help but take a few steps forward, staring intently at Lin Jin, and pressed, "When exactly did she start following you?"

Seeing this, Lin Jin deliberately pretended to be deep in thought, tilting his head back as if trying to recall the past. After a while, he slowly said, "Hmm... it must have been last year, I remember that was the first time we met. She gave me a strange feeling, constantly asking me all sorts of questions, as if she was particularly interested in me."

Lin Jin paused for a moment, then continued, "Later, I discovered that she had even hired people to follow me! Fortunately, I found out early, and after I warned those two thugs, they never followed me again."

Upon hearing Lin Jin's words, Old Master Yu's face suddenly turned pale. He seemed to remember something important, clutching his chest and gasping for breath. Seeing this, Yu Zhenzhen turned ashen-faced and rushed over to support him, helping him catch his breath while anxiously asking, "Father, what's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"
